As long as you disturb the King. Look forward to checking it out.

    Yeah--She has my back.

I spent my college years developing an immunity to noxious gas..."Schlitz, pickled eggs and White Castles" was a personal best.

    Need opinions

Just be careful. I heard about a Mille whose wheels were done in a bright green. It was just more than she could bear--Her heart gave out.
  4. Collapse is another good word. Who's to say they didn't see it coming? Probably just sat around arguing whether it was their own fault, or a natural climatic cycle. Once a civilization reaches the peak of what the land base can sustain, it doesn't take much to tip the balance. Say an extended drought, as suggested by the ecological record. Even if you see it coming, what does one do about it? Divide into smaller groups and leave the city centers to exploit available resources wherever they may be. Which is most likely how it played out...And the culture never recovered to what it once was before the arrival of the Spanish. Again, the idea of the 'end of the world' is a social/cultural phenomenon imported by the Europeans. As far as the 'Mayan prophesies' of the same--they are pretty much the invention of tabloids and history channel specials selling the end of the world. As far as the calendar is concerned...Keen astrological observation and complex mathematics. Pretty amazing for the time when one thinks about it...And you don't have to add a day every 4 years to keep it correct.
  5. What demise? The Maya are still around.
  6. That date is nothing other than the end of a cycle, or an era--if you will. Normally a new cycle would start, but they apparently hadn't worked far ahead enough to document the succeeding cycle. More pressing matters as the society was crumbling due to overpopulation/drought/diminished carrying capacity... "Doomsday" is mostly a western creation. Of course, I'm not buying anyone Christmas presents until 12-22-12--just in case.
  7. His & Her Diaries HER DIARY: Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it. Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but he didn't say much. I asked him what was wrong; he said, 'Nothing.' I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior. I don't know why he didn't say, 'I love you, too.' When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. To my surprise, he responded to my caress, and we made love. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep--- I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ HIS DIARY: My bike wouldn't start today, but at least I got laid.
  8. Again, I was being facetious more than anything. However it was still a shock to see myself unexpectedly. I agree with video being a helpful tool. I would like have someone sit down and give pointers based on myself being filmed (not really this one though). I find that I keep reverting my focus to (chasing/following/not running into) the coach or the next person in line. I've hit the track once a year for the last few, so I feel like I'm starting over each time. I plan on going much more next year so I can build a bit.
  9. Just being facetious... Still have no idea who that was with the camera...Or why it is on an Italian site. Seriously. Anyone on this board put up that vid?
  10. Well that certainly doesn't help my newly developed paranoia.
  11. I was speaking of the rear end of my bike. Weirdo. ...And yes, I do admire her from all angles. I've been known to go to the garage for a tool and find myself standing and staring 15 minutes later.
  12. It's OK...I'm not judging. In fact, I'm flattered.
  13. Don't build it up too much. It was my first time back on the bike in a month after blowing out my knee. I had to take the brace off to fit into my leathers, so I wasn't very comfortable, to say the least. Add to that that it was cooling off quickly and the surface was starting to feel slippy... I can come up with more excuses if anyone needs them. We slowed down a lot going up the short straight--Found out later the coach was waving me to pass him, but I couldn't make out what he was doing as we were riding directly into the sun. Is that a trick question?
  14. Glad to know, then, that you were curious/bored enough to potentially see my rear end.
  15. So I was minding my own business, Just watching videos on the internet... Click on a related video, then another...Watching one, I start to think to myself--"That looks like my back". Shot tightens a bit--That is definitely my rear end! Definitely not as impressive seeing myself going at it on video as it was in my head. Kinda feel a little violated. Didn't know I was being filmed, or by whom...And then posted on the internet. http://video.tiscali.it/canali/truveo/2637075352.html

Coincidentally, we're doing both of those this weekend as well!
  17. Couple o' years ago...Looks about the same now, just with a few scars from the tarmac and gravel at Mid-Ohio.
