  1. Got the little 125 running. Drained the tank, cleaned the carb. changed the oil and the boy was off and riding. He rode it up and down the hill until dark. Thanks Walt and nice meeting you.
  2. 2 life flight rides in 2 years and still riding. The human body heals itself in amazing ways. That and some titanium and few screws.
  3. I can't stand to listen to those oil free compressors run and after owning a real compressor I will never go back. I also wouldn't pay for the Craftsman name when all of them are built in China anyways. I don't know anything about this unit but it might be worth a look. http://www.harborfreight.com/air-tools/air-compressors/29-gal-2-hp-150-psi-cast-iron-vertical-air-compressor-61489.html A few years ago when all I had to work out of was a 10x20 shed I built a shelf inside the shed to hold my compressor and put a 100 gal. tank outside. The 100 gal. tank is in the garage now with a shelf over top of it. Compressor fills the tank to 120lb regulator set at 90lbs and I have plenty of air before the the compressor has to run.
  4. Sounds like you have to much head pressure and the unloader is not letting the pressure off the head. That's the little burst of air you hear or should hear when the motor shuts off. It is part of the pressure switch.
  5. McCunes has went down hill a lot in the past 5 years. I am sure the Iron Pony will fix that. Hope they buy that old Pizza hut building and make some more parking. You Cleveland guys have Kames. Central Ohio has small dealers that never have anything in stock.
  6. I will buy it. PM coming with phone #.
  7. I am sure it has a lot to do with all the rich ass campers wanting to camp on the river and not have dust and stone chips to deal with. I was on my WR on day behind a Harley and he wouldn't let me pass. Acted like he owned the road I was right on his ass when we came around the corner going south and the road turned to dirt he about shit. The bike got all loose and he was on the brakes. I waited to see if he was going to crash then flew by with the rocks and dust filling the air. Sad to see a fun road go away.

    WTB Moped

My son ( 18 now ) spent a summer riding this around. I bought it for $65 at a auction. My other boys are 9 and 10 so I am keeping it for then. ( sorry ) I was riding it right after I bought it and the local PD ran my plate. I am sure my fat ass on a moped going 25mph on a 50 mph road was the reason. The 2 speed is a nice option.

    Chain saws

I have saved a ton of $ on heating bills in the last 10 years. The first winter in this house I bought a used wood burner for $250 ( just sold it for $500 ) used triple wall chimney pipe for 100$ and a new Stihl saw. $500 ( still have it ) split the wood by hand that winter. Bought a $300 gas splitter that I still have the next summer. I already had a old truck ( that I still have ) and trailer so that helped. I upgraded the wood burner last fall to used wood furnace ( $1000 ) and hooked it into my furnace duct work. Much more heat upstairs, it has its own blower that is thermostat controled and not as much wasted heat. Over the years I have bought a 3 more saws, dump trailer, diesel truck and Kubota tractor with front end loader they are not just for wood cutting but it sure make life easier the work takes less time. We bought 4 20lb. tanks of propane last winter and could have got by with one or two but the wife and kids are so use to it being hot in the house that no one want to put a sweat shirt on ever a pair of pants. If it gets below 75 everyone is freezing. Over all it is a pain in the ass and when its real cold I have to get out of bed around 2-3 am and put wood in, more wood before I go to work at 6am, more wood at lunch time ( live 7 minutes from work ) more wood at 3pm. Bring wood in from outside EVERY night after work, more wood after dinner and more wood before bed. Last year the snow was so deep I had to plow snow from the wood pile to the house more then once. All my wood comes from friends or were ever I can find free wood. Its sure not for everyone but I really do enjoy cutting wood, splitting wood, stacking wood and just being outside working with wood, and even more I like saving $.

    Chain saws

That's this years wood and maybe some of next years, the year after is already stacked in another pile. That short stack is 4 rows deep and over 6 foot high. You can see I have used just about a skids worth so far. That cart full will get me 24 hour worth of heat unless its real cold.

    Chain saws

My Stihl dealer always has extra chains, bars, spark plugs, and air cleaners in stock. I have a couple older Stihls that I bought used and if they didn't have the part they could get them in a few days even for older saws and the price of the parts is never as bad as I think its going to be. That's worth a lot to me. When I bought my 270 new I paid full MSRP. I hated doing that but I needed a saw bad. I few weeks later I found another dealer that had my saw marked down $20 and said he would have helped me on the price of the extra chains that I bought at the same time I bought the saw. I have never stepped foot back in the door of the first dealer but the other dealer has got a lot of my $ since. Both stores are owned by Amish.

    Chain saws

I bought a Stihl MS270 10 years ago when I started heating my house 90% with wood and ran the balls off that saw. Chains, bars and one spark plug in the last 10 years. It still runs GREAT but last fall I found a good deal on a Stihl ms362, its a pro saw and wow what a beast. My son and I cut on the same log and I cut almost twice as fast with the new saw. Its not as powerful as the 441 or the 661 but its lighter and runs a 20 inch bar with no problems. I test ran a 441 one time at a stihl dealer outside of Danville and was not that impressed for as much hp. as it has and as much as it costs it wasn't that great. Right after I bought my 362 I was at Charm engine and they had a new 661 on sale but even on sale I couldn't pay that much for a saw to cut wood to try and save money. I live in Loudonville if you want to give my 362 a try you are more then welcome to.
  13. My first call would be to the IRS to make sure that supervisor is paying income tax on that $1200 a hour he is claiming. The towing company is more then likely paying him $10 a hour.
  14. Never. Most fun you can have on 2 wheels. This was from last winter. Did about 100 miles that day. Good times.
  15. Before we went to the Dragon this spring I bought my boy and I both Olympia mesh jackets. I am real picky about jackets and how they fit but the Olympia fit great. It was one of those jackets that the first time you put it on its like wow this thing fits perfect. Flows a ton of air and has a lot of armor. They have zip out liners that block the wind on cool mornings. My next gear upgrade is going to be mesh pants.
  16. Ride your Strom up to Loudonville and take my wr250 for a ride before you pull the trigger on a DR650. I did 120 miles today farting around on the WR and 190 last Sunday while my Strom sat in the garage. If my DR650 was still in the garage I am pretty sure I would have picked the Strom over it.
  17. I must have got a pair that missed the waterproof treatment since they have never been waterproof. I got caught in the rain 3 times yesterday with my First Gear Rainier jacket and in the 3rd downpour I got wet. Just to much water for to long. I got new Klim Latitude jacket and pants this spring but left then at home. It would have been a good test for them.
  18. There must be some good camping south of Loudonville. I live just north of Loudonville off Rt. 60 and every Friday in the summer it is a parade of campers going south and Sunday night it's a camper parade going north. I see all those campers and wounder how there is enough camp spots for all of them. Lots of good roads south of Loudonville.
  19. Just south of you in Loudonville. My son is 18 and has been riding off road since he was 6 but is riding on the road now. WR250X and a vstrom. PM me some time and we go for a ride. Had you stuck with your off road roots and bought a dual sport bike you could have joined in on the real fun. This road was under water Saturday and by Sunday the water was gone but the fun was still there.
  20. My son and I spent the last 3 days on the Dragon with our WR250s. I wanted to ride the V-Stroms down but after doing that last April and being cold and wet we drove the truck and put the bikes in the trailer this year. Turned out to be the right idea. It rained on the way down Friday and on the way home yesterday. The rain and fog on 75 was so bad a few times we would have had to stop on the bikes. The WRs are a blast on the Dragon and so much more fun then the Strom was last year. Great time to ride down there we only got passed one time by a guy on a WR400.
  21. Today was my first ride with my new Shoei Neotec with the pinlock visor. Wow that thing works GREAT. I will never buy a helmet again with out it. The sun shield was perfect also. Not to dark but blocks the sun well. Only problem is the cheek pads are a little tight.
  22. I was in a crash a couple years ago and the insurance company replaced my helmet. I tried on lots of helmets and in the end I picked the Gmax. Seemed crazy to buy the lowest priced helmet when the insurance company was paying but it fit the best and I liked the features. Last Nov. I got hit by a deer and landed on my shoulder and head. My helmet is scratched up and has some deep grooves in it but still in one piece. I also got knocked out and don't remember anything. Not even the life flight ride. I woke up to a chest tube getting pushed in my ribs at the ER. The life flight was due to the blood coming out of my ear. This time I am going to buy a better helmet if I can find one that fits good and has the features I want. So far I haven't found one.
  23. Life is to short to not ride in the winter. We did over 100 miles yesterday. Lots of ice, some snow, some mud, and even a little dust on one road.
  24. Fun in the snow with a tire change.
