LOCATION: GRAND PRIX KARTING 1300 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus Ohio 43209 TEL. 614-2GO-FAST (246-3278) I have us locked in for a group event at GP indoor on January 31; showtime is 6:30 pm, on the track at 7pm. You need to be there at 6:30 for the track briefing. COST is $53 per person. PAY WHEN YOU GET THERE. I would like you to post if you are for sure going. Even though we are not paying ahead, I really need people to stay committed so they can staff and plan accordingly. I would like to do something like this monthly and have a very good relationship with them. Please post here if you are going and I will start the roaster is post 2 and edit as I can. I know this is different from the last event, $2 less. But, I caught them just after a meeting about their group rates, and I booked 3 events with them, so that may have helped. It does not matter if you have a membership; their group rate is the deal. Membership rates are for discounted sessions when you just go in with your friends and are not a group. Group is 10+ people. So just like before, this is three lap sessions of ten minutes each. You can bring your own closed face helmet, even motorcycle helmet. It must have a visor and it must be down while racing. Or you will get yelled at the whole time, like I did; opps. I couldn't hear him. 1st session will get the times to determine lineup for next session. Then the times from that session will determine the lineup for the 3rd session. If you are the last car in your group or slowest, you are not getting 10 minutes. It goes off the first car making 10 laps. So, it’s about 10 minutes. This came up last time. I addressed it with them and the settings are set for 10 lap’s times. Once the first car hits 10, then it’s over. The system can’t cater to the slowest kart. That makes sense to me. I'm working on getting some swag from my work to reward the top 3 times for the night; T-shirts or something. Thanks

It's out if their hands. Thay have done all they can to be open. The city is dragging their feet with the paperwork. So they have been optimistic on the timing for that paperwork to be cleared. It is what it is. At least they are here. I'll be posting a private CR meeting later today, I hope. Waiting for a call back. Set up two events yesterday with them.

That's not one I have followed. I think any place that is going to gather pricing and consolidate it is worth watching. Adding to the list.
-
Glad to see this go. It's been tempting me. I really like the 9c.
-
When they have bulk in it's great. I was getting my 9mm from them for 12.99, limit 200 rounds.

Nothing, as long as you are in complicance with the state you are traveling through. most people just don't even bother to see what that is. Example, if I was going to the range here in Ohio with an AR, I simply travle unloaded and ammo in a seperate part of the car from the gun. If I'm going to Vermont; by way of Albany, New York, last I check the AR was not allowed. So I would reroute or completely disassemble for travel.

Great place to follow ammo deals. Thanks for posting

This thread is about Winter tires. Troll or off topic, i don't know. But, here you go. I did a search for you, since you wanted to talk about brakes and upgrade. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112860&highlight=brake+pads
-
Aaron, I'm not sure where you're going with this. I did acknowlege your relevent statement to brake pads. I didn't disagree. You asked if I upgraded them on the new car. I stated it brakes better than my other car with upgraded pads, so they are already pretty damn grabby. Now, if that wears off, then yes, they get upgraded. Just like all the cars we have had do. Maybe I didn't state it clear enough. I have never been in an accident either. I kinda don't want to. So, I try to do what I can to prepare the best I can to have a little advantage to situations that might be out of my control.

I would hope it would be from being a driving istructor for every military truck over the last 8 years! Coupled with driving in some pretty shitty conditions world wide. Followed by driving course's at Mid Ohio and Beaver run. I would hope I have an idea of how to maintain a stable vehical. Short of not drivng, or not going a certain route, you don't have much contol of the surface you are on. So, being best prepared for it to be bad, just makes since to me. Surface/ terrain dictates stopping ablility. From there, proper equipment and the maintance of it are all you can do to better your situation.

This has been posted in another section, but I thought it was fitting here, so repost. What it doesn't address is the different AWD systems and how winter tires do, or do not make a difference. It does display a good example of front wheel drive with snow tires Vs AWD without snow tires.
-
And that's where I knew you were going. Frankly, that brakes in the new Subaru are damn scarey. I've been suorised by the grab they have a few times. I'd say maybe better stopping than the RX7, with it's upgraded pads and everything, short of a big brake kit.
-
No. Stock everything, just snow tires. I'm think I see where you might be going with "upgrade them too". And that goes to, I've not seen the need with pads that are already new.
-
I'm actually a little surprised, I did not think this many people would reply with running snow tires. It's very hard not to be insulting to those who don't run them. For those who do run winters, more than likely, we have been in a situation to need them and value that ability. We got a new Subaru last month for my wife, I have felt guilty it took this long to get the snow tires ordered and mounted. For me, us, it's not an option to go without them. That's from growing up in Vermont and having the desire to never be limited in travel by the weather, for emergency or day to day. So with conviction like that, I have to fight the urge to argue and say someone is dumb for not having them. "What if your family, loved one....."? It's not relevant if you haven't seen the difference they make and how much safer and able they are for winter driving. And I have to say I get that. I just hope you never are in a situation where they would have made the difference. As for asking what tire those that have winters are running, that's dual purpose. I want people here to have a reference for getting winter tires based on what they read in this thread. I also wanted to see if the brands we are running, are what I have known of. For the most part, they have been. Names like Cooper and Nokian Hakapelita's weren't mentioned. They are very good tires as well.

I would absolutely hoard it, if I could find enough. I shoot .22 a lot! Let along what I go through teaching classes. For me to feel ok for having classes, I would need 10,000 rnd and then 5000 for personal use. Today's pricing, that's $1800. And that's just .22, not any of the other calibers.
-
No need for that. Just changed title. I skimmed it earlier and saw "fat chick", and stopped reading. Figured it got off topic. It's pretty much on track actually.
-
I had read that and it seemed to be getting of topic. Going to restructure it a little.

I'm liking this CR fun. Good post's guys

I like your style.

Maybe we need to have an ammo hot buy thread, to let people know locations and deals of in stock ammo. I would love to know when a local Walmart or some gun/ outdoor store has ammo. I would rather CR be stocked up and FB freinds.
