You kids get off of my LAAAAWN! Given the direction I took my life, having a family is not something that will be happening. My contribution, if it is even that, is picking up where parents leave off.

I knew posting this would get the like for responses. CR, while very diverse, I feel has a common outlook for not being lazy. I can't say I have met a member on here who is just a bum. So without taking this post to be an attack toward those of you that fall in the Y and Z generation, if you're not on the couch, then it's not you.

I've met you and didn't get that impression. But, if you want to take it to mean you are one of the lazy ones, and not one making a contribution, that's on you.

Panic rant not tied to Orlando incident. This is just a thought. The amount of money the US owes to other countries, is simply staggering. The absolute lack of "get the fuck off the couch", from generation's Y and Z is frightening. Mom's and dad's that teach likership and not leadership, become the crutch for these kids. Then they can't figure out why Tommy and Suzy still live at home, when they are in their late 20's. The US is just not seeing the driving force of the youth to better themselves. They want to harvest the crops to eat, but they won't plant them and care for them, to ensure a good harvest. When they do find a harvest, they eat the whole fucking thing, and don't store any food for the hard times. This is a direct relation to the little money they make as well. When you take the lack of drive and the combination of the dept to other nations, at some point another country is just going to Red Dawn our ass and take the land as a seizure of assets. The US being foreclosed on is pretty far fetched. But, that dept isn't just going to be waived. The lazy youth aren't going to have enough in their peer group that actually got off their ass, to make the difference. Y & Z just want to feel good all the time, which includes having kids like damn rabbits. They can't afford to take care of themselves, do the math on how that kid is growing up. How do we make this better? How do we change it from getting worse? I was once told that people with money don't need the same things as people who struggle with money. I met a young man 3 years ago who was raised in a $600,000 home and had, what most kids would say, were all the cool toys. He was passive, and he was nonchalant; which came off has having little drive. I saw him change to become assertive, but not cocky. He never came off like he came from a well off family. He went out and got his own place, and struggled to get a job and pay bills. But eventually, things came together for him. I actually think he contemplated giving up on life and felt like a failure. He stuck with it and tended to his life, as a farmer would care for the crops. And for that, he gave me hope in today's youth. He got into an apprentice program. I'm having a hard time getting a good feeling that more of todays youth are pushing through and making things good. I think they quit too soon and never reach their potential. I'm poking your brain CR. What are your thoughts.

So why is he urging Americans “to be prepared for a disaster” all of a sudden? On May 31, Obama took time out of his extremely busy schedule to deliver an address at the FEMA National Response Coordination Center in Washington. During his speech, he stressed that every American is responsible for preparing for disasters, and that includes “having an evacuation plan” and “having a fully stocked disaster supply kit.” These are basic steps that I have been encouraging people to do for years, but if they won’t listen to me, perhaps they will listen to the man currently residing in the White House. The following excerpt from Obama’s speech comes directly from the official White House website… One of the things that we have learned over the course of the last seven and a half years is that government plays a vital role, but it is every citizen’s responsibility to be prepared for a disaster. And that means taking proactive steps, like having an evacuation plan, having a fully stocked disaster supply kit. If your local authorities ask you to evacuate, you have to do it. Don’t wait. This speech was timed to coincide with the beginning of the hurricane season, although hurricanes have not posed much of a threat lately. This is exactly what I have been noticing as well. There appears to be a tremendous amount of apathy out there, and relatively few people really seem to feel much urgency to get prepared these days. My contacts in the emergency preparedness industry have been telling me that sales are way down right now. There was a big peak last fall, but since then it is like interest in prepping has just fallen off the map. Ultimately, those companies are going to be okay because interest will pick back up shortly as global events begin to spiral completely out of control. However, of much greater concern is the fact that people have not been using this period of relative calm constructively. Just like we have seen in Venezuela, time to prepare eventually runs out. And someday there will be millions of parents that are absolutely horrified when their children come to them crying out for food and they don’t have anything to give to them because they didn’t heed the warnings and they didn’t get prepared. When that day arrives, many of those families may be forced to turn to whatever help the government is offering at the time. One more thing that I found particularly noteworthy about Obama’s speech was that he said that there is now “a FEMA app” that can direct you to the nearest “FEMA shelter” in the event of a major emergency. I did it last year in the STi, knowing it was going to be very slow. We did not do a 270 lap, as they said they were. Which, I am glad we did not. We left QSL and went 270 to 315 south to 670 and back up 71 North to QSL. Going through the tunnel on 670 in downtown, provided fun times for people to do a 1st or 2nd gear pull for some fun sounds. It was miserably slow. If you have a car or bike that needs air flow or it will over heat, I would not recommend taking it to this. If temps are not terrible, I my do it in the FD this year if temps are favorable. I think it took about 2 1/2 hours.

Looking for a car. People post 30 options and opinions. OP narrows down to a few interests. People destroy hopes and dreams. I'm confident that regardless of what is bought, CR will say "xxxxxx" is a POS and has 1,xxx problems. OP ends up buying a bicycle for wife because he was scared off by CR's car critics. Wife hates OP in the Winter and divorces him for the Doctor with a Tesla. OP, you claim to know how to do maintenance and care for a car. Do that, and don't mod the car. I have daily driven a Subaru since 2005. In 2008 I had a head gasket issue. I have upgraded Subaru's two times since then, with no issues. All previous cars are still running well. We have a 2015 Outback also and love it. We have driven it to Vermont a few times, and to Ontario last Summer. It's comfortable, has plenty of room, and the features are what you would expect for this level of car. If you get the CTV, remember to drive it as a daily, not a get away car. We get 29-32mpg in the Outback.

What about the stock clutch guy who does 50 blips of the throttle, like it's a stiff 6 puck clutch, just to back up one car length? He's right there with the bike guy at a light, who HAS to rev the throttle the whole damn time. I bet the bike won't stall if you just let it idle.

It's about the exit, when I do it. I'm not trying to have to check 20 times for some dipshit to walk behind my car while I back out. It's that "get in and go", that makes it worth it. Always have an exit plan, and make it fast. People who can't back a car up and park straight, annoy the hell out of me. Like their parents didn't do their job.

Nothing wrong with these, we are doing updates in the house, and that means changing these out. I would say they are a lightly used set. It's just my wife and I, so not like we are doing 3+ loads of laundry a week. Reviews are very good on the washer. Rick, you know how I am with wifi issues and some tech things. You setting up the routers the way you did fixed everything I was wrestling. I feel as though I know how to trouble shoot this stuff pretty well, but what you did was past me and the fix I needed, and I feel made setting this up, go better than it would have prior to you working on things. With that said: I set it up Friday afternoon and everything went as it should have. I would have liked a setup video from Acurite, but only found hobbyist's vids on youtube. The display is great. All the parts sync'd up and talked to each other fairly easily. I'll be calling support to go over having the online screen set up the way I want. It just doesn't seem very user friendly for seeing what you want to see, and not having to scroll past other things first. Phone app is pretty cool and gives more info for my area than the Weather channel app I use. I feel the value is there for this item, even though I didn't want to spend the money.
