  1. That is a frigging awesome looking bike. Love those FZ's.
  2. "Holy fuck!" was right!! The people in our military have balls of steel and demand our respect for what they do to protect our freedom.
  3. I hope we never take for granted the ones who put their lives on the line to protect and serve the public. We are able to enjoy our freedom with the cost of their lives and all their sacrifices. I respect these people above all others. The family are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP.
  4. That is a great looking bike, and I'm sure you will have lots of fun on it
  5. my best friend bought one a "mid-sized' PB for his 10 year old son. His next door neighbor's boy got one too. riding together on their street one day they crashed. compound fracture, road rash, and a broken rib betwwen the two of them. You crash at 35mph and you are in the bigtime and things will break. just saying.
  6. sounds like he 'lived" rather than "survived" this life, and because of that i have nothing but respect. he did so much in the limited time he was here and touched so very many lives. there is no doubt when you are twisting that throttle he is right ther with you for the ride. RIP
  7. I feel as though I hj this thread. Sorry. here is a $36 front fork stand from IP
  8. No my ex wife did that when she kicked me in the back and my head bounced down ALL basement stairs. She said it was an accident but the fact she left five foot prints on the back of my shirt says different
  9. Holy crap that was funny as hell!!!!! Obviously neither spelling nor intellect is one of my strong suits. But i have and excuse, as an infant my mom got used to putting Jack Daniels in my baby bottle because it was the only way she could stop me from trying to hump the family dog
  10. The way I see it, you never did see a u-haul behind a hurst have you? So spend your money on what makes you happy and leave your relatives with nothing but good memories
  11. I didn't see the red ones but then again I didn't look to see if they had different colors. And they do still have them seeing as I just bought mine last week P.S. Have you ever been to Iron Pony and NOT spent more money than you intended? Once i went in intending only to buy a $14 neck warmer and ended up spending $420 bucks. I haved no impulse control at all...lol
  12. I'm cheap and got the bobo black stand (although it's the rear they have front as well) at the Iron Pony and I'm very satisfied with them. Plenty sturdy enough for my 430lb bike and I admit I've hoped on the bike while on the stand and I'm 175
  13. Very cool!! Post some pics of the finished product and maybe a video of the sound! Those stubby pipes are growing on me, may get one myself. Looks cool!
  14. That pipe looks loud as hell I know it's just a mock up, but if you can get it more parallel with the tail section that would look even better!
  15. V-twin smee twin. V-4's have more holes.
  16. This one is still my favorite... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhaYvI1yrUM&feature=PlayList&p=3C42417D9AD08CE6&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=36
  17. Well I love technology and new stuff. People said the same thing when they started liquid cooling bikes. Then fuel injection and ECU controlled 3-d mapping. But I bet you would expect all that and more if you are buying a new bike these days. Now the BMW brings all new velvetrain technology, quick ECU mapping, advanced ABS traction control. Pretty soon all sportbikes will have it and people will resist that change as well I imagine. BTW: For expert riders such as yourself you can turn EVERYTHING off and show the world what a fantastic motorcyclist you are
  18. That's a good idea. I was glad I looked down and saw it just barely sticking out. Never expected that. My next step was going to be to replace the fuel pump and those suckers are expensive. Can you imagine changing the fuel pump and THEN finding that in the line? Hell that fuel line was only a foot long and I never once though to look down it My momma always told me, life gives you the test first and the lesson later.
  19. It's funny that you say that because I never in my life thought I would own anything with "bling" but it's growing on me, I'm sticking with it and adding even more chrome...lol And yes the bike needs a very good cleaning. It will help get us aquainted. But come to think about it, I've already seen her almost naked
  20. I have LOTS of plans for this bike including an late model GSXR eBay front end and brakes, full exhaust (although I do like the sound of that beatup D&D pipe I must admit) rear sets, and possible a Korean plastics kit. I finally have money to put into a toy after I buy it. I usually blow my wad on something then have to spread out the upgrades over time. My budget for the bike was about 5 grand, so I've got tons of money left over for goodies. Down the road if I'm brave enough I might try an engine swap with a late model 750/1000. Been reading up on that one and I like it. Lower insurance, old school looks and modern power
  21. Oh I plan on it!!! Getting tags and insurance on it this week
  22. I was looking for a bike to eventually replace my 95 Magna, and came across a project that kind of landed in my lap. Long story short I bought a 00 GSX-R600 that had been sitting and was not in running condition. I got it on the cheap. The story was it was running fine and then it sat for I'm guessing a year and when he went to sell it he tried starting it with the bad gas. It will start with the choke on full but ran terrible and dies as soon as you let it off even after warming up. I'm a hands on kind of guy and I've worked on cars but have never worked on a bike. I figure I have nothing to lose by trying to fix it myself, right? So I strip it down the best I can. I change the spark plugs, oil, filter, coolant, drain the gas tank. I take off the carbs and spray Seafoam in and later rinse it in gas. Put it all back together and it ran only slightly better, and only an idle with the choke on. it would die immediately given any throttle. So I'm guessing it's starved for air or fuel. So I download the manual and I see where you can test the output of the fuel pump. I start the test and as I'm looking at the output from the fuel line a little clogged filter was peaking it's ugly head out from INSIDE the fuel line. I don't know if this is some kind of nipple filter or what. But low and behold I quickly put every back together and she fired right up. Yesterday I took her for a little test ride half naked around my little neighborhood. I hit 9 grand and almost shit my pants. This thing is fast. For some reason I had it in my head that 600 aren't that fast (I read to much on the interent obviously) As far as today's standards it may be "slow" but an 11 second quarter is faster than anything I've ever owned Anyway on the the pics..and yes I replaced the kick-stand and there is lots and lots left to do and tons of presents to start buying her. I love the aftermarket for this bike!!
  23. I love that bike so much I feel like squirting oil all over her beautiful tank.....Is it wrong to get a boner from a bike? What's not to love? 185whp bone stock and the weight of a 600. That ludicrous speed. But what I like about it most is the high tech. Close the throttle and pull in the clutch and choose your mode. Rain, track, street etc. wheelie/traction control, ABS. The thing has sensors everywhere. It set a new bar for sportbike technology. The more control you have the safer the way I see it. And I just heard they are racing it at the Isle of Man this year. Can't wait to see that
  24. I'd say the majority of the motorcyclist out there are sensible, courteous and try their best to observe the traffic laws (I did say "try"..lol) It's that bone-headed minority like this a-hole that tarnish the reputation of bikers and needlessly risk their lives and whomever they might take down with them. I would like to slap that man in the face with a cold, dead, slimy fish.
