  1. There were a lot of words written in this thread, I scanned though most of it but got bored so sorry if this is a re-post. You can go to a "popular" brake shop with perfectly good brakes and ask "what do I need?" and walk away with a $700 bill. Tire shops like ALL other shops are in business for profit. That being said, the more they sell the better the bottom line. They came up with the "rear tire" sanrio to SCARE people into buy a full set. so people will say "even though I have new front tires and I have a front wheel drive car it's still not SAFE?" It sales people not SAFTEY. It's hype created to sell more tires.
  2. You know when people say I ride because I have a death wish, I think quite the opposite. I ride because I have an "I want to feel alive" wish.
  3. I once told my dad he should be ashamed to walk around the house naked if his dick was as big as mine. Of course i was only a toddler at the time and just learning to speak
  4. It's funny you should say that. My worst critic is my mom. She can't even talk to me now without mentioning something about my irresponsible behavior. BUT when she first got married to may dad back in the stone age, they BOTH took a Vespa 50cc (two stroke) scooter on a 5,000 trip from Miami to Mexico a back. Two people on a 50cc bike AND gear. They were lucky to go 15mph up a hill, and my dad had to clean the carbon out of engine parts among other maintenance to keep things going for the trip. I thought that was the coolest story I heard from my parents. I know she cares about me an loves me, and her heart is in the right place and all. But you can see me thinking her attitude toward me is a little hypocritical. But you really can't get mad at someone for caring, just wished they were more understanding
  5. There was a story in Columbus years ago, but I remember when a big crane fell over and they said there was a casualty. I remember seeing the picture. The crane boom fell on a car waiting at a red light. Talk about bad luck. To say the guy died instantly would be an understatement. I was thinking this guy probably did everything right. Good guy good father, etc, etc. Maybe he gave up a wish of riding bikes to be "safe" and responsible. Maybe he lived his whole life "safe" and never REALLY lived. Now he can't be alive or live. When it's your time it's your time. We all die, living longer the only person you are cheating is death. That's my reasoning and I'm sticking to it
  6. I know we have had recent threads about "haters' but I've got to rant for a second. I recently got back into motorcycling after a ten year absence. I guess many years ago I bowed down to the pressure of family and friends, and maybe some of their comments got under my skin. maybe i was just tired of hearing it. Looking back on it now I stopped riding mainly to please others while hurting myself. But something changed. Last July I took my daughter on a seven day cruise. We showed up on one island with 4 hours to kill so we saw what we could get into. I rented a 185cc half bike half scooter. My daughter and I rode for the full 4 hours and I felt alive and free. Got the bug and it was biting good. From that night on I had motorcycles on the brain and even though I had just spent $2600 on a cruise, I bought a bike within week of getting home a 95 Magna. The more I rode the more I missed riding if that makes sense. My mom and family tripped out like I knew they would. Then I bought another bike, a little project for me (lots of pics coming soon) a 00 GSXR600 for the purpose of going to a trackday and having fun as well as being safer than my Magna. Now I hear things like "I have a death wish", and I'm "on a path to destruction" after I told people I'm signing up to do a trackday at MI. Half of me thinks that they can't wait till I crash to say "I told you so" Can you imagine what they would say if I told them another reason I got the GSXR was cuz I wanted to try a little stuning? That's why I love being here, you people understand me
  7. I can respectfully disagree on that one. I had SLP Loudmouth mufflers on my 2002 Mustang GT and then installed longtube headers and an off-road x-pipe. It was SO loud it could wake the dead, but couldn't manage better than a 13.6 @103 in the 1/4. Why do you think I like bikes?
  8. Man, this is exactly what I've been looking for. I'm 100% in. This will be my first trackday on the first sportbike I've owned a 00' grxr600. I can't wait!! I PM'd Hoblick about his offer for a ride, but that may have been already taken. If anyone else as room for me and my bike I will of course chip in for gas and other expenses, and I'm not cheap Man I'm already getting excited!!!!
  9. I couldn't agree more. I didn't grow up in Ohio so I used it to get in touch with old friends back home. It was very interesting to me to see how people ended up and what they were doing. Seeing one of the biggest asswipes in high school all these years later and he is fat, ugly and digs ditches for a living. Took a whole day to wipe the smile off my face. P.S. I've also gotten laid thanks to FB and hooking up with old girlfriends so I can put up with an annoying quiz or two On a side note I posted this video on my profile and not a single comment was made and somehow a few friends mysteriously dropped off my page. My friends list needs a good douching anyway
  10. That's the coolest grill I've ever seen!! Here are a few more custom grills... And my favorite
  11. "LAMA and A.B.A.T.E. members made plans to come by the residence center in the spring and take the ladies for a ride" Can you imagine a 90 year old woman going for a ride on...let's say a Busa...Better make sure she is wearing some Depends...LOL But in all seriousness I think it's cool how the bikers treated them. You can learn a lot form the older generation, after all there is no substitute for experience in this life
  12. I think the people that drive Toyota's and having these accidents must be idiots. You can tell if your accelerator pedal is beginning to stick and not return into position directly. If you carpet is in the way of your pedals, MOVE the damn thing. And if your car starts accelerating because of a stuck throttle put the car in neutral for crying out loud. I personally think that woman's testimony before congress was BS. She claims she put it in neutral at one point and it kept going. She probably made that up when she was telling the story and someone with half a brain said "why didn't you just put it in neutral dumbass?" My mom drives a late model Toyota that has not been recalled and I'm not worried one bit. After all when you really look at it there were two small problems. An accelerator that after time could begin to stick and a software update in the Prius. That's a lot of hype for such minor recalls. 34 people have supposedly died form these issues. Just to put it in perspective TWICE as many kids die from choking on hot dogs every year.
  13. I just posted that video on my facbook page, and it's sure to piss off a few of my "friends" because that man was spot on in what he said!!
  14. I saw this story on 60 minutes and the product does work as claimed. Once they get production cost down I believe Casper is right because there will be no need for an electrical grid and every house may eventually have one. I bet companies like AEP are watching Bloom Energy very closely
  15. Oh dear Lord have mercy on my ugly ass. That was fn' cool as hell!!!
  16. I've noticed many differences between men and women other than the the fact that one has a snatch and the other one wants it. The old dude is guilty of two things. Standing his ground against a verbal attack, then defending himself from a physical one. Yes men are nothing but animals. but Trent said it best, we will fuck you like that too
  17. Everything you have heard about this site is true, yet you joined anyway. If you have a scew loose you came to the right place. WELCOME.
  18. Except for being morally raped and ridiculed beyond belief, this forum has been nothing but good to me
  19. Alright no need to wiggle your banana at me I get the point. The sv650 is a very nimble bike indeed. Imagine it with a 100 shot of nitrous every time you twist the throttle. Wouldn't that be nice. Oh wait....
  20. WELCOME. You will love this place, I do
  21. This was the most entertaining thread I've perused in a long time. Hilarious shit. And don't be hard on the old man in the second view after he got out off the bus. Ever been in a street fight? I have. At least a half dozen all out brawls in my 42 years. It can take all damn night to come down from a fight. Adrenaline is through the roof for a while. That's all the old dude was "on" after he got off the bus. He was pumped.
  22. I don't know why Dweezel is on the short bus. That was very insightful. Now it makes sense. Must be a handful to drive. Two wheels, high center of gravity, LOTS of weight. No thanks. You know, I bet the bar in the back comes down when you stop. It would have to right? Imagine that on the way over :-P
  23. In my defense I did put "setup" before rider. You can have the fastest car with the best suspension and if it's setup for racing wrong you might as well tie it to a tree stump. Besides it was it's first year. In the REAL world to the majority of us is riding on the street 99% of the time. In that setting, the BMW will stomp on that Aprilia and squeak out rotten spaghetti smelling farts
