  1. That is very true. Lots of things in Japan are very tiny, just ask any Japanese wife
  2. I would blame the setup and the rider, not the bike on that one. Don't get me wrong I love the Aprilia (alothough the RSV4 had a rocky start blowing engines left and right) , but the BMW just set the bar for liter bikes pretty damn high with the s1000rr. Japan will be playing catch-up for the next few years I imagine.
  3. What was that leather made of again? What a waste of so many things, including the brain (or lack there of) of it's creator.
  4. A lot of thought and engineering went into that. Looks like something they would do on Monster Garage
  5. I would give my left nut and a smidgen of my right one for either bike, but would rather have the BMW. I've seen dynos of the bike now that''s it's released and it puts out 183whp. BMW was sandbagging the HP figures at 193 as to not have a bike in Europe hitting the 200hp mark which is REALLY what it has. Just over 400lbs dry, traction control, wheelie control, variable ABS, on demand ECU mapping and shift assist! HOLY CRAP!
  6. I'm interested in the back protector as well, and I've been looking for one. Maybe a group buy?
  7. holy shit if you said that to her face you'd better be wearing a bullet proof vest
  8. 4 pieces? how do you end up with four pieces? I always end up with six (think about it), AND you can fit it neatly in two suitcases edit: that's not true, once I came up with five, sorry for the mis-quote
  9. Ever have a battle of words with your ex? Doesn't matter if it's email, fax, or text? (and yes I have had fax fights before...lol) My ex wife has been ANNOYING THE HELLL OUT OF ME lately and was bothering me again, so I came back with (among other things) in a txt "I'd rather have my balls ripped off by an alligator than to see, deal, or have to communicate with you on ANY basis. So unless you have something intelligent to say, leave me the puck alone" She left me alone after that. Well it made me laugh and hopefully really pissed her off too Got any good lines you said to an ex?
  10. Yeah that was gay and stupid, and I hurt more for the bike than the humans. That RVT was nice. Wish I had one
  11. In my best Napoleon Dynamite impression..."LUCKY, GOSH!!!!" Get stuff at unbelievable prices. Can't beat that. Good for you
  12. I couldn't agree more with the above statement. I absolutely believe that sportbikes are MUCH safer than cruisers. They are lighter, have FAR better brakes, can maneuver better and are much much faster. And speed is a safety factor the way I see it. Let's say you are cruising down the highway and some dumbass decides he is just coming on over in your lane without even looking. There is another car to to other side. On a slow ass cruiser your only option is to put on the brakes and hope it's clear behind you. On a sportbike you have to option of going in front or behind. I just bought a 2000 GSX-R600 and I'm getting rid of my cruiser and aside from the fun factor, I did it for the better brakes, and handling. As far as the haters, I get flack form all sides, but it's my life so they will just have to deal with it
  13. Thanks! I've owned standards ALL my life and this is my first "sportbike". I'm 42, it's never too late...LOL Want to take it to mid-Ohio for a novice weekend this year. Plan on replacing the front end with a late model GSXR, new tires, and a 520 conversion. I will be selling my 95 Magna here soon to pay for lots of new parts This forum is great and you guys are the best. Thanks for all your feedback, it is much appreciated
  14. He IM me and his prices sound good. A senior member recommended him and that's all I need really.
  15. First owner lived near Columbus Motor Speedway on the South side off of Lockborne. I'm guessing it's a small world. Anything you can tell me about it?
  16. Thanks of the input, I will contact him. BTW you avatar is VERY disturbing. One of the best I've seen
  17. Tax free $50 an hour is too low (and I round up)? In this ecomony with so many out of work? Really? I think not BTW $50 an hour is $100,000 a year. If you are worth more than that good for you
  18. Very long story short I buying a 2000 Suzuki GSX-R 600. Last year of the carbs for this model. Guy had it stored and the bike had old gas. He goes to start it and it will start and run with the choke on but won't idle. He took a good portion of the price off due to that. I have money to invest in this bike and want to get the carbs cleaned, synced and jetted if necessary. Along with a good tune-up, plugs, oil/filter and such. Basically give it a good once over. and install aftermarket parts for me (520 chain conversion and such, simple bolt on stuff) I think $50 an hour for services on a bike is fair and I will provide all parts. Sound like anything someone is interested in? Maybe a little extra cash in your pocket? Here are pic of the bike, just because everyone likes pictures BTW: yes I know it has a craftsman #2 screw driver for a kickstand and a few misc. ghetto things, just need some $$ and TLC. Cheap parts on ebay and believe me it factored into the price ;-)
  19. No I was behind the Honda dealer on the business route. Wish the roads were a little better. Would have like to to taken it all the way to the redline. but I was being careful and respectful the guys equipment. It was fun and the guy was really nice. I do love the look and you don't see many of those around anymore, but to be honest I'm sick of carburetors. I want fuel injection.
  20. I agree. I was worried that a 600 would be to slow (I read WAY to much crap on the internet obviously) and that bike had a hp/weight ratio LESS than a "modern" 600 and it was faster than a cat on carpet.
  21. No doubt. When he said his bottom line was 2300 I knew I wasn't going to even try negotiating. I'd pay 1600 tops. Some kid will have an orgasm when he gets his first taste at speed and buy it. I'd rather pay more and get an F4i. Less weight, better suspension, better riding position (good lord that bike was uncomfortable, my heels were 2" from my ass), better brakes, etc
  22. I got to check out the bike this afternoon. This is the ad here http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1581954989.html It was in good shape for a 21 year old bike. It ran rough until off the choke and warmed up, it was about 38 degrees out so understandable. It pulled VERY hard all the way to 11k and that’s all the nerve I could muster on gritty roads. Fast as hell for sure, I sported wood. Good manners on the road, brakes seemed solid. It will need new tires, and rear shock. The skull paint job looks great but has signs of wear with little nicks and scratches as to be expected. It is listed as 2.5k and he said he will sell it for 2.3k. It’s not the bike for me, but I live close and the guy is very nice. I would be willing to take high resolution pics of the bike for forum members if they are interested.
  23. You obviously have an incredibly cool better half, hold on the that girl whatever you do!!! Bike looks great and you are chomping at the bit ready for the season to start just like me. I'm doing my very first track day this year at at tender age of 42 and I can't wait!!!!!! Be safe!
  24. I just LOVE it when you guys park your bikes in your livingroom, that is so cool! I'm guessing you are either single or have a VERY understanding girlfriend/wife
