  1. Continental ContiSport Contact2 Summer Tires - 225/45/17 - Average ~8/32" tread depth - My low-mile take offs, were only daily driven for a bit, no autoX/racing miles - Great in the rain http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k10/tripleskate/MAZDA%20-%20Parts%20For%20Sale/IMG_2412_zpsae4ee017.jpg http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k10/tripleskate/MAZDA%20-%20Parts%20For%20Sale/IMG_2411_zps1aeed06f.jpg Asking $250 picked up in Westerville
  2. If it's only for a few days, I have an extra garage space.
  3. I like that manufacturers are looking at cars like the FR-S as the hotbed for revitalizing the small, RWD, "fun" segment, kudos to the little Toyobaru, and it's ambitions. However, if GM could find a way to a make an FR-S fighter with say...the new generation 2.0t from the LNF engine, that would be fantastic. The Saturn Sky/Pontiac equivalent were close, but not quite there, if GM's enthusiasts within the brand had more time to cultivate those cars, they could have been great. Make it a proper coupe (not a half-assed removable roof based off of a convertible chassis, and ready to handle right out of the box, and that would go a long way towards making a statement about American car manufacturers being ready to go toe-to-toe with the competition.
  4. Hey Derek, how much would it cost only to dismount tires from a set of wheels? 235/45/17 if it makes a difference. A number of people have been asking about shipping a set of wheels I have for sale, and dismounting the tires ahead of time would make the process infinitely less of a hassle.
  5. Yes. The N54 tt motor is very under-taxed in stock form at about 6-8psi peak boost depending on air density, etc. Hotrod182 is holding the record for fastest on stock turbos with an 11.1@129.x http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW-335i-Timeslip-23471.html Stock v. Piggyback tune on 91oct: http://burgertuning.com/images/dyno2.jpg
  6. There's a certain brand whose very image is built off of their inline sixes. Not sure if serious.
  7. Jesus. On the stock wheels, I'm capped at a 225/255 street tire setup. You should have no problems beating up a slow stock BMW. :gabe:
  8. I'll beat you while I'm on the way to beating his times. :lolguy:
  9. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. If I get something like the new ZII or the like, I'm coming after the Beetle. :fuckyeah:
  10. Alright, I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about tires, considering how many sets I have burned through with autocrosses, and track days, etc., but this one is new to me. Are my tires dry-rotting? Backstory: My car is a 2010, and I am the second owner. The previous owner, from what I have been able to gather was an older person who had it as a very low-mile lease. I bought the car two months ago (2/13) with 12,000 miles on the odometer exactly. The tires are the original equipment Bridgestone RFT summer tires, and look to still have quite a good amount of tread on them, which makes me think it was his/her second car, or sunday driver. It could have experienced quite a lot of garage/sitting time with the previous owner. I have put just over 2000 miles, and one AutoX on the car since, and for the first time today, I took a look under the car just to check things out, and I noticed, one that my car may need a slight alignment change (toe), and that BOTH of the my front tires have what I first thought to be dry rot. It's only the fronts, and the sidewalls look fine. My guess is that the low miles, and age (sitting) may be factors here. The insides of the treadblocks on the front tires all look like this. Help me out here guys, are these tires dry-rotting/unsafe? http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k10/tripleskate/IMG_2533_zps32070b05.jpg Edit: Tire build date listed as "2309", which pegs it as a June 2009 tire.
  11. Do the Mazda over the Cruze. It will be built properly. Also, the engine tech on the Mazda > Cruze.
  12. It doesn't appear to be backwards yet in those photos.
  13. I would down to caravan up to one of your guys' events. Does NORA use Motorsportsreg for pre-registration as well?
  14. On a 15x7 for a Miata, stick with the 205. Sounds like you've got too much power for the wheel/tire combo though. The new Direzza ZII (starspec ZI successor) is supposedly better than the tire it replaced in both wet and dry grip, and that was the go-to tire for wet autocrosses. If they make the ZII in your sizes, they would have my vote.
  15. I think it looks sharp. I appreciate any manufacturer who is willing to cater to niche markets with track-ready cars like these, even if it still enormously heavy.
  16. As if the OVR group needed any more accolades or praise, I did the Driver's Schools in 2010 and 2011, and found them to be quite beneficial in erasing some bad driving behaviors that had developed over the long winters. They are definitely worth the slightly bumped up cost of entry from a standard event. Unfortunately, I will be sitting this one out, and doing the P.E. the following day due to scheduling. However, a friend of mine who did his first event today was asking about seat time and I clued him into this, so he may be attending.
  17. Looking at that really helps my decision of "should I buy a GoPro?". Looks like it would be really handy to see where I'm screwing up.
  18. You met Jerry today at the end of the event. Black guy piloting the land yacht.
  19. By a whole tenth of a second. I was trailing behind the pack, substantially.
