  1. More like months. ~2.5 months ago. This is first time I have been able to go over the entire car with a fine tooth comb. When I first looked at it, I just checked the big mechanical bits, and that nothing seemed broken.
  2. That was the plan. Tomorrow, I am going there in person, as Kelly has been a little underwhelming in terms of communication when a phone is involved.
  3. Well, after finding a few rather peculiar things while detailing my car, it looks like it was previously modified, and then returned to stock before Kelly BMW got ahold of it. So far, it looks like at one point, it had been lowered, had wide wheels/tires (drag radials???), had the front fenders rolled, and the ECU/DME had definitely been touched. I am beginning to think it was modded, thrashed, put away wet, and then the owner quickly put it back to stock when the lease was up to get rid of a potential ticking time bomb that they may have created... The car is CPO, which means that the dealership never "flagged" or notified their registry of the car being modified whenever they looked at it, for service, etc. I'll keep this brief, can Kelly BMW disclose a name or phone number of the previous owner so I can find out more about the car's history?
  4. That's pretty strong for an old heap like that.
  5. Power: Displacement is a generally meaningless figure. It's all about the curve, and the V8 is consistently making more horsepower and torque throughout the entirety of the pull than the S54-I6.
  6. TBH, muscle milk is garbage, regardless of your intended goals for using it. He's a kid, let him eat right, and grow up a bit.
  7. Get a front clip, plasti-dip the whole thing matte black, drop that frame harder than Skrillex can drop the bass, profit.
  8. Yup. Despite me knowing that this was a Clay thread, I came in here when I saw "2002" and "M3" in the description. E46's can be great, great cars, or they can be catastrophes. It's worth the $100-200 to pay an Indy mechanic (a la Northend Wrench, or similar) to give it a once over before signing any paperwork.
  9. Damn, R3's? Guy, or girl is definitely a baller with good taste. Car looks great.
  10. Black grilles, and debadged the decklid. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k10/tripleskate/IMG_2596_zps034bb155.jpg http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k10/tripleskate/IMG_2598_zps68a95adc.jpg
  11. Who cares? It's a V6 trying to play a V8's game.
  12. Which one? :gabe: http://blog.caranddriver.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/Lexus-RX450h-by-Paul-Tolson-of-EST.jpg
  13. Exactly. With gear spacing in mind, I would till shift right at redline. The VQ's engines like to rev a bit, and if you shift at 7, you'll land at about 4500-5000, which is part of their happy spot. For the Subi, it's a bit different since it's turbo-charged. You want to shift at the highest RPM point possible (relative to where it's making power) to keep the turbo spinning as fast as possible for the next gear. Looking at that graph you could take it to at least 6500rpm and be golden.
  14. I'll be getting one shortly for tracking/autoX, but who knows, it might be seeing a lot of street use considering how many people have been wanting to play these past couple of weeks.
  15. Does anyone know if Wiggs, or perhaps his wife has a white 458 Italia? The plates read: E WIGGS and it certainly looked like him (fatter, douchey-looking, white guy). Anyway, 60 rolled him in the Bimmer. He looked over, started laughing, and only dropped down two gears. He was not expecting a little turbo Bimmer to hang with him all the way to 120+, he looked pissed!
  16. None of the tires you listed are the least bit good for any sort of tracking. Most of them are plain jane all-seasons. If you're the least bit serious about a good street tire, this is what you should be looking at: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?customSizeSearch=&width=205%2F&ratio=50&diameter=15
  17. Seconded. I got right around $7000 on trade-in for my 3, so a used one can definitely be found in her price range. At 80,000 miles, it was as strong as day 1.
  18. Is that what had happened? I was part of yesterday's graduating class and we couldn't tell what the hell was happening up there.
  19. Do they cost more than the change in Clay's pocket? If so, he's not interested.
  20. Every time that I see one of your threads, I know better and say to myself, "Don't do it. For the love of Science, don't open that thread.", yet I still end up reading the posts, despite already knowing the outcome. Damnit Clay, go buy the CTS-V.
  21. If you're looking for 1/4mi run roads, I have a few go-to's that I can recommend within a 45 minute proximity of me. For things like 60-130 roll ons, that's a bit more tricky.
  22. I think he's looking for numbers that are actually accurate.
