  1. I've always thought the Abarths were lookers, might have to go check one out.
  2. Thanks a lot, I am trying to sell it locally first, just for simplicities sake, but this guy in Florida is cash ready, so I may be in contact with you shortly. Cool, keep me posted.
  3. VIS Racing, Carbon Fiber, have a ton of pictures if necessary, easily 8/10 condition. Asking $400 (MSRP $760). Fits the 04-09 wagons (non-Speed3). The grille is also for sale at $200 (new is around $320).
  4. I put my hood up for sale on a Mazda forum, and I've been getting some interest in it, but it would require shipping it. I did some rough measurements today, and I'm looking for a box around 60in x 45in x 6in. My roommate recommended looking for boxes at a staples or business supply store. As a result of it's size, finding the best means of shipping it has been difficult. After doing some research, it looks like Fedex is my best bet. Has anyone had a similar experience, or can recommend a certain company?
  5. Never. Races are few and far between, so it's always just for fun. If you can't laugh it off or give the winner a wave or thumbs up, you're doing it wrong.
  6. Holy shit, I thought the Mad Max thing was a joke, it really does have the look though.
  7. Ziebart did mine, trouble free 3 years later.
  8. I think it looks sweet, but really, who cares about the opinions of a bunch of random people on the internet, it's your car.
  9. Is that massive torque dip just poor factory tuning? My guess is that they are pulling a ton of timing out in that midrange, and a good tune would really wake it up.
  10. That was a beautiful poem.
  11. To the best of my knowledge, it's not burning oil, no visible deposit on the exhuast, no smokescreen, etc.
  12. For what it's worth, a friend of mine always has his car serviced at the Valvoline on Polaris, and he said his car (Acura RSX) felt unsually bogged down and VTEC wouldn't engage. FWIW, VTEC is engaged by an oil pressure actuated solenoid, so that usually means the car is low on oil. So I took the car for an hour, and the first thing I did was check the oil. He told me "It can't be low on oil, they just changed it less than 2,000 miles ago". The dipstick was bone dry. I ended up putting in 3.8 quarts of oil to get the dipstick to have a healthy reading. This motor only takes about 4.x quarts from the get go. After that, I drove it around, VTEC worked, it idled better, etc. I'm left to believe that they drained his old oil and never put anything back in.
  13. COLUMBUS RACING SHOULD BE BETTER
  14. Strong thread title to majority poster correlation. This thread is more lulzy than a Das Borgen repost hate thread.
  15. Good eye, they just messed up the dates. For reference, I didn't even OWN the car until 4/08, let alone mod it. The runs were done a few months apart. Also, if you notice, the humidity was much higher on the modded graph, so the DA was relatively close for both graphs, as well as the correction factor/smoothing level applied.
  16. Yup, 2.3l NA, low-compression, etc. Edit: Don't mean to interrupt Draco's thread, but for the people that don't believe me, the stock tune on these cars is very conservative timing and stupid rich anywhere over ~4,800rpm. Successive pulls had my car going deep into the 10.x AFR-wise, and doing a few street pulls, I have hit 9.7AFR, one of the reasons why my car shoots fireballs between shifts. Made 132/133 bone stock, 151/152 with the intake/exhaust, and the majority of that power increase can also be seen throughout the powerband. I'll see if I can find the scans of my dyno runs. Edit2: It was 19whp/19wtq, my memory was off. 17. I don't doubt it. Intake and catback gained 18whp/18wtq on my car, that's with no tuning solution, I figure if I can ever get the car tuned, 15whp is possible, mainly because the factory tune is horrible on my car.
  18. As much as I have said "never again" to black cars, the BRZ is so hot in black. Goddamn, those TRD parts are FIRE!
  19. It ain't easy being Kenny from the Block.
  20. Those cars look like so much fun. I would like to see them run on a true race track or get out on a real rally stage.
  21. Just eyeballing it here, but with enough stretch and camber, you could clear the 6". However, the 5" will be a much easier fit, and no risk of the fenders cutting the tire, especially if this car will be seeing track duty.
  22. The back shouldn't end in a hatch like that, it ought to come down further and then swoop up at the end like the duckbilled-spoilers often seen on aftermarket Bimmers. It would retain the coupe shape while being super aggressive. Love the rest of it though.
