I figured I'd give a heads up to the people looking for cheap hotels. With summer vacations and such, it's always nice to save some dinero. Was booking hotels for vacation. Used the Priceline "Name your own price" and was surprised. Took about 10 seconds for them to accept my $50 bid for a 3 star. Naturally, I was wondering what kind of deal I got, so I tried to book the hotel through other venues including the resorts website. Well, it turned out that it's a $110-$120/night stay, depending on where it's purchased (hotels.com, travelocity, and even priceline without the negotiation).

I guess the insurance only checks your record every 1-3 years. I'd just make sure to not change your policy or have a claim. I'm not sure what would trigger a record check.

Eventually, my goal is to get an old track bike with a cage for track and occasional wheelies coming out of corners. I don't really want to do much wheelie practice on the 1125R without a cage/sliders. Thanks to everyone for offering wheelie/stunt instruction. I will keep that in mind if I want to level-up my skills.

The week of wheelie school is a vacation for me, so I was going to ride the scenic route up there Sunday and stay at a hotel with a pool. I've been contemplating taking the car, because then I could just cruise home after the wheelie school and be all energized for the trip down south (KY, TN) on Tuesday. My 2-door coupe is pretty fun to drive on twisty roads also, and it has a sliding moon roof (almost convertible-like). Thanks for the tip.

I still don't understand the whole getting caught thing. Pin the throttle, get a good lead. Go around a turn or over a hill, do a quick stop and a u-turn. Hear the sirens coming and launch. Of course, in order for this to work you must not be on a major one-way highway where it's impossible to turn around quick. I think if it was daytime or nighttime (especially with some wheelie lights), it'd be cool to do a wheelie past the cop as you pass one another. I have done many wheelies, and I've landed them all (one them being in the triple digits). I am looking at refining my technique, learning from the pros. Maybe learning a cool trick or two. Plus learning on their bikes takes a lot of the nervousness out of the equation.
