    Brass Balls

Wheezle *pause for suspense* you are not the father!
  2. I've seen some cheaper speakers/receivers on http://www.audioadvisor.com/. The Athena LS-300 which are (supposedly) regular $250 each for $200/pair. The only problem I see with these is that they don't have the low bass that you need for the Snoop Dogg. (Although specification wise they still have comparable bass to the Sonys (38hz versus 35hz).) http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=ATLS300 I've never heard the Parasound, but according to the reviews it seems impressive for $260. It's a "factory-refreshed" unit, and that's why it's $100 cheaper than normal. http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=2PAZAMPV3 But if you truly want to rock out on a budget, headphones are the way to go. Although, I currently own Sennheisers, I've owned a few Grados, and they are the best headphone for your buck. I've had non-audiophile friends put the Grados on and say, "Wow, I've never heard anything sound that good." They will truly open your eyes (and ears), and let you hear all the music that you're not hearing through your computer speakers or ipod ear buds. http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=GRSR80I Good luck with your search.
  3. Welcome. Despite riding as much as possible, I have not yet seen another 1125R while riding.
  4. This would be perfect for a storm chaser. Just put it in the truck. Drive to the storm. Fly up a few 1000 feet and get some pictures, fly back down and drive away.
  5. I got a set of Magnepan MG12s mint condition with the boxes and manuals. They are white with black trim. I will part with them for $700. http://www.magnepan.com/. I also like the Klipsch Reference Series: http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/ele/1680012296.html
  6. I heard somewhere that cleaning the rotors and calipers can fix it.
  7. Yeah 150s are pretty standard. I'd love to get a street-legal bike that'd go around 250 mph. That'd be perfect for making that commute to work a few minutes shorter. http://wildbrosracing.com/
  8. I've been thinking about getting a second bike for around $3,000-$3,500 (GSX-R750, GSX-R600, R6, ZX-6R) My primary concern is to get something fuel-injected. My secondary concern is how good it will be on the track with minimal upgrades (sliders, tires, cheap suspension upgrades). I'm kind of new to the whole track scene, so I was wondering what the most cost-affective bike-route would be in the 3k-3.5k price range. I was also wondering who I should take the bike to, to get it tuned up. I am thinking about offering $2800 for this: http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/1677553608.html
  9. I remember the hardest thing to do when I got my new bike was keep it under 6,000 rpm, despite the correlation to around 100mph in 6th. I've always heard that the best way to break-in a bike is to ride it like you're running from the cops with lots of engine speed variation, so that's what I did.
  10. A 2009 Ducati, so it seems that both of the crashes yesterday were recently purchased motorcycles. The other one had the 30-day tags.
  11. http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/crime/one-person-killed-in-motorcycle-crash-667651.html I thought I heard the news say that there was a helmet strapped to the bike.

    Insurance?

I'm only paying 650 a year (Full Coverage) for the 1125R with State Farm. And I don't really have a great driving record. Oh yeah, and I have nothing else insured with State Farm, so it'd probably be cheaper if I had other stuff through them.
  13. Flamingo their yard or your yard, I doubt there's something against putting flamingos in yards. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKxUvOFjWvo

  15. You know, that's a pretty good deal. I've been contemplating a late 2010/early 2011 purchase of a rebuilt- titled 600 from www.390bike.com, just to rail around the track. This 600RR is very tempting. Good luck with the sale.
  16. Reminds me of Dumb and Dumberer and the chocolate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWJdkk4pOWI
  17. I've always had a little crush on the vintage Vespa look. And if I were to get a second ride, I'd get a Stella. I'd have no problem cruising with something 150cc or more on 55mph highways. I wouldn't try the 65mph highways on anything less than 250cc though.
  18. That's good that you made it through. I've had so many people pull out in front of me that I just expect it to happen. So I usually just throttle hard past the intersection before they have a chance to finally stop, look, and pull out, in front of me. Or if they're already there, I slow down, turn on my right turn signal, wait for them to pull out, and then go. And sometimes for the really big old cars where I see the white hair at about steering wheel level, I'll actually do a right turn and then a u-turn. Sometimes when I'm in a hurry, I'll just do a little weaving to increase my visibility and hope for the best.
  19. Yeah, or they could just start using different usernames. LOL
  20. According to wikipedia the 09 GSXR 1000 has 191 horsepower at the crank. And honestly, I don't think 191 is too much horsepower. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_GSX-R1000 I would so love to have a 499 horsepower Hayabusa! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6y7SSxnaB0
  21. Encryption is the name of the game; hidden partitions especially. http://www.truecrypt.org/ Virtual machines that can get can be reset everyday back to a clean image after the downloaded files are moved to a hidden partition. http://www.vmware.com/ Using vulnerability assessment tools to keep network and home computers safe will be especially important. http://www.gfi.com/lannetscan And of course if you're surfing for torrents or music files start with something anonymous and secure (https) and use a proxy. http://www.startpage.com/ And naturally, you'll need a good antivirus suite to check the downloaded files. http://www.eset.com/ Of course, this is just hypothetical, because I would never pirate music or movies.
  22. If passenger friendly is what you want I would go for something with a longer wheelbase and a lot of torque like a Hayabusa, ZX14, or VFR1200. With all of that torque you'll forget the passenger is there.
  23. I hope to get involved in a few rides this year.
