  1. Moral of this thread? Cops are useless in most situations.

Not really it just shows how pointless it is to road rage with someone unless your going to handle it. The cops are going to de-escalate the situation ASAP so they don't end up with a situation like the one where the former OSU player was shooting at that guy a little while back.

What can the cop base his PC on to make the stop? Him saying I saw the guy do (whatever) isn't enough to make a traffic stop. Maybe with multiple witnesses but just one person saying this is what happened only gives him reasonable suspicion at best.

  2. I was driving on 23N near Delaware a long time ago about 8 years. I came up behind a work truck with 4 guys in it at a stop light. They took off from the light and were throwing beer bottles out onto the road and swerving. I got in the left lane and passed them set my cruise control at 63 (8 over). When there was enough room to get over into the right lane again I did. They then flew up behind me and started riding my ass even though the left lane was open for them to pass. I slowed down to 55 so they'd go around me. Nothing they still stayed behind me. I was in my camaro at the time so I sped back up to 63 (still in a 55 zone). Then they came speeding back up on me so I brake checked em and went back up to 63. Then they came up on me again only this time the pulled beside me to pass. Which was fine with me I didn't want to be near these guys. When they got beside me the passenger through a brick at me that hit right behind my drivers window. Then they tried to speed away up the road but I had no problem keeping up. I got their plate and called Delaware PD. They got off at the 36 exit as I was on the phone with the dispatch. Then I saw them throw several bottles out in to the brush which I told the dispatch. Dispatch told me they had a unit on the way that will take care of it so just pull over. So I did. Cop gets there 20min later to basically tell me there's nothing they can do. I asked him what about the dent put in my car by the brick? As far as I'm concerned that's at least assault if not attempted murder. He told me they have morrow county looking for the truck since that's where the truck was registered. But it was my word against his and they couldn't take prints off the brick so it was pointless. I asked what about them drinking? they were obviously drunk and could kill someone. He said hopefully Morrow country gets em.

  3. That's one of the better rifles that DPMS makes. Pretty much universally good reviews. It certainly is capable for 1000 yard shooting.

I currently am not. I work with a few guys that do a lot of long range shooting that offered to help me out.

No they are not the ones who referred me to counter sniper.

  4. AR10 definitely is a LR gun.. Techniques for driving gas guns are a bit different that bolt guns and it takes more practice. Also, unless put together by a builder that knows their shit, the AR10 platform is a bit harder to accurize over a standard bolt gun. (Lots of heavy, moving parts in the AR10 platform)

Hence why its not like the 2 LR guns I mentioned. When I bought it I couldn't decide in a Remington 700 or getting an AR-15. Found the AR-10 and figured it was kind of a mix of the two with sacrifices being made on certain aspects of it.

  5. Give us a budget and your expected use, and we'll help you find something.

I know the AR-10 is not a long range gun like a Remington .700 or a Barrett. When I bought it I wanted a long range rifle to learn long range shooting with. (500+ yards). The rifle can be capable of 1000+ but with a awesome shooter. That's not me. Although I do want to learn to get as close to that as I can and 500+ is my current goal then step it up once I reach that.

Since I've moved out west I can hunt with it so I will probably use it for that too. The only restriction on the .308 out her is magazine capacity. But they allow it to be used on coyote, white tail, mule deer, mountain lion, bear, elk and sheep. So I'm eventually going to use it on hunting too.

The rifle has a 24in bull barrel and I'm not too concerned about the weight of the scope. I'll want something rugged though so I can hike it up through the mountains out side of its case. I was thinking starting around $600-$750 dollar range.

  6. The UN treaty is an international trade treaty - nothing in it affects the guns you own today or the guns made in this country.

    moar fear!!!

But could it affect the guns we desire to import? Say I want a H&K UMP .40, will this ban affect that or are all those parts made in Virginia? Or what if I want an AK?

  7. Yes, they are universally mocked by anyone who has a clue about optics.

Well I don't know about optics, so I'm glad I never bought one from them. Although I do have an AR-10 that needs a scope eventually. Never bought one so I'll have to do some more research when I get the cash together. Thanks for saving me guys.

  8. .

You better be fucking joking.. Biggest pieces of shit ever to hit the market.. Run really fast away

Never used em just told about them awhile back. Was told they are best bang for the buck and good quality. Maybe someone was screwing with me. Are they really bad enough to make unicorns puke rainbows and machine gun shit butterflies?

  9. Pot isn't the problem. Marriage is the problem. I wouldn't need to smoke like a fiend of I weren't married.

And the homosexuals are upset because there are straight people opposed to them getting married.

  10. why won't you just let us smoke, maaaaaaaan?

why do you hate our freedoms?

I said earlier I'm not opposed to weed being legalized just that regulations for it need sorted out. It's the other drugs I'm saying shouldn't be legalized.

  11. So I'm assuming if someone walked up and offered you some blow you would do it, because that just negated two of your arguments for not doing it. In fact; since it is a one time thing and coke cleans out quick you are not likely to get caught, so that actually negates all three arguments.

If not, there is something more than the 3 points you are listing out.....and that is why the majority of the population will not all of a sudden become pot heads and crack addicts if all drugs were legalized.

The main reason for not doing drugs for me was they were illegal. I could justify to myself drinking because it was legal for most people. It could be picked up by an older friend in the grocery store easily accessible. The reason I tried weed was the whole its ok for you its not addictive its not a big deal if you get caught. Coke on the other hand would be a big deal if I got caught. Heck I wouldn't be able to have my current job now if I had done coke. They looked past pot but coke would have made me unsuitable. Also no one ever offered me free coke so your argument there holds no weight.

The illegality was the biggest factor in not trying the drugs. If the others were legal I probably would have tried them. Same as I like most people tried cigs and booze without a second thought. The punishment for the hard drugs was greater than the punishment for weed cigs or booze.

  12. What do you do for a living? You say you arrest people, but you're not a cop, your profile says 'security'

    Are you a mall ninja?

    Mall ninjas can't arrest people.

I'll pm you about what I currently do.

I used to work in prison and I saw the effects that drugs have had on peoples lives. While some smaller cases and crimes could have better punishment you can only help those that want help. On the flip side the serious consequences of simple possession should be enough of a reason to not do it. If you do the crime you've accepted the risk of the punishment. A lesser punishment would make people more willing to commit the crime.

People still rob banks making it legal will not make the problem go away.

  13. Cooter, the fact that irresponsible people are already using drugs in an irresponsible manner with them being illegal does not serve as evidence that more people will do the same if they are legal. I for one am not a proponent of legalizing every drug, having tried them all I definitely feel some should not be on the open market. My point is this: your arguments ate at the best, sloppily laced together with examples of your own unique experience. What countries like Denmark and Luxembourg have found out is that drug abuse will always exist, by decriminalizing drugs they turn it from a law enforcement issue to a health issue. Instead of jailing people who can't handle their shit, they treat them. And it works!

Doing drugs is not the only illegal part of doing drugs its the actions people take while under the influence of drugs and the actions people take to fund their drug habit.

The majority of people my co-workers and I arrest are commiting the crime to get money to pay for drugs. Whether the drug was legal or not people will still need money for the drug and will be looking at the quickest way to get that money which is normally crime.

  14. ^ you contradicted yourself about 15 times in that last paragraph alone

In 8 sentences? You must have read into it and misunderstood the point.

I tried it and it being illegal and not cheap were the two reasons I stopped.

The reasons I never tried the "hard" drugs were,

1 They were illegal with greater consequences for getting busted.

    2. I had no idea where the hell to find them.

If there were no legal consequences for harder drugs hell I probably would have tried them. With the extreme addictive qualities of most of those drugs I probably would have gotten hooked. Legalizing all drugs is a bad idea period.

  15. Yeah, the 20 hour road trip to KC... then the 4 months of waiting for nice weather...

Gear up there are plenty of days in Ohio that are dry enough to ride in the winter. Is ride 45 miles one way to work as long as the daytime temps were over 30* and it was dry. (no ice).

  16. Yes, but it was not stated that getting high and running headlong naked into cruisers should be, nor was it suggested that any irresponsible behavior in public be encouraged. Your video is catagorically irrelevant to the discussion.

While not expressed it can be reasonably inferred that these proposed legal drugs be enjoyed responsibly in the home be people who can handle their shit.

I bet there are plenty of videos of people doing much worse things than leaving their junkprint on the hood of a cruiser while drunk.

Who would decide who can use the drugs? How would you know how its going to effect a person. There are plenty of cases of people being high on pcp meth lsd and such that have committed crimes that horror movies are made from. Like the lady who ate her babies brain or the rapper "big lurch" who ate his friend while high on pcp. It's obvious that the effects of these harder drugs make it impossible for a lot of people to use them responsibly. If 100% of the users could do it and keep to themselves I'd be all for legalizing all drugs. But I can't say something that makes people so out of touch with reality they'd kill their children should be legal. Then there's also the effect of not being able to work when you get so hooked on certain drugs that you need to steal to support your addiction. I see a lot of metal get stolen from people out here because some tweeker wants to get high. I know a rancher who had to replace a 1/2 mile of fence because tweekers stole it. There's more to people just getting high when it comes to drugs. What about the children of these druggies that enjoy it responsibly in their house. When people get addicted they can real screw up the lives of others supporting their habit. Their kids don't deserve to have to live in a run down house not knowing when they are going to eat again just so their parents can get high.

The argument that people do crazy shit on alcohol is irrelevant all it does is say that the legal system is hypocritical.

The main reason a lot of people don't "try" most drugs is its illegal especially in their teen years. The reason people are ok with trying underage drinking is eventually it will be legal so it can't be that bad. Atleast that was my mind set. I drank in high school but only tried weed once in high school. The reason I only did it once was it was illegal for anyone. I tried a couple times after high school and decided it was a waste of money and to risky. If these harder drugs were legal they'd be more readily available and easier to get. Kind of like prescription pills kids are more likely to try those because of 1. They are not 100% illegal and 2. They are easy to get.
