  1. Um... alcohol slows reaction time' date=' too. It's not illegal to consume. It's just illegal to consume when driving.. and illegal to be inebriated during driving. How is that different than weed? It's not.

Yes. All drugs should be legal. Don't punish the folks that can handle their shit because other folks can't.[/quote']

I was pointing out why people fear it and don't want it legalized. I never said it was better than alcohol.

That's just you trolling saying all drugs should be legal. I'm sure you'd change your mind if you or your family feel victim to a drug related crime.

  2. Right. And with a stable supply of legal pot dispensaries the dealers go out of business and it actually becomes harder for underage kids to get their hands on it.

No because every teen has that older friend sibling cousin friend of a friend that will buy them beer. Makes it easier for people to become middle man dealers.

In Arizona the law states that if there is a dispensary within 30miles of your home you can't grow your own plants. The Town of Bisbee (yes the same town in 3:10 to Yuma) is full of hippies and medical marijuana users. They have voted against allowing a dispensary in by over 90% every time it comes up for vote. Just a little fun fact.

  3. ^^^nanny state mentality. I can't stand this about New America! Well since the individual can't take responsibility for their own actions we have to take control of it. Give me a god damn break

It's not the effect it has on the user its the people they effect.

If a person is stoned their reaction time is reduced. That reduction in reaction time could be the difference between running a child over that runs into the street and stopping in time.

So by your logic all drugs should be legal?

Do they not realize this could be construed as an act of war?

Had that been a manned plane, I imagine they'd have gotten some missiles fired up their asses.

Mexican military has driven into the united states more than once and fired upon Federal agents. That was just written of as a navigational error. Other countries may be like a chihuahua nipping at our heels but they know we are the big guard dog that won't be let off its chain.

  5. Could've just as easily gotten a DUI or knocked a chick up and ruined his career....all comes down to a choice. Weed being addictive, gonna be different for each person, as for the majority I would have to say no. Love getting high and feeling that way becomes more of a habit and addictive, pretty much can be said for smoking cigarettes and drinking too "to a point". Weed is illegal "as of now", hence why it has a bad stereotyping to it, I know some folks that smoke and you would "never" guess they did so.

My point is some people, most stoners I know would choose pot over their future. What's to keep them from still making bad choices because they want to go get high? Saying its ok/harmless for everyone to use is untrue.

Now I'm not opposed to legalizing it but first they'd need to figure out reasonable regulations. How long until you can drive after smoking etc? How are they going to test your level of stonedness to see if you should be ok to drive?

  6. I stopped reading after the 2nd sentence because I didn't care to continue without saying your buddy is a collosal moron for coming to the conclusion of weed over a future. That is entirely on him, not weed

True he's a dumbass but he choose weed. He wouldn't have gotten kicked out for alcohol. He could go a week with out alcohol easy and only drink on the weekends he didn't have drill but he smoked everyday. The habit he developed he couldnt kick even for a little bit while he was on his last chance with the military then his job.

  7. There are laws against paraphernalia which is equatable to a spoon

You can also get in trouble for possession of criminal tools. In the right persons hands they are the tools if their trade, locksmiths and tools for picking locks, contractors and demolition equipment, alarm installers and some of their tools, certain types of card readers. But possessing these things without reason can equal possession of criminal tools. It's not illegal due to what it is, its illegal because of its intended use. That's why you can but pipes and bongs and whatever else you choose but they are sold as intended for tobacco use only.

  8. Ok. New thread rule: If you've never smoked it' date=' stop telling me how bad/evil/wrong/terrible/useless it is.

You don't know shit. Stop talking.[/quote']

Never said I never smoked it. Never smoked it a lot. So I guess I can continue or is this a stoners only thread?

  9. My friend that got kicked out of the military will tell you he wishes he was still in but it came down to a choice weed or military. He choose weed. He was doing a lot better in life while in the National Guard. He had a good job that he also lost due to drug tests. A girlfriend and son that he lost due to not being responsible / able to support them.

Maybe because I don't like weed I can step back and honestly say I can see a lot more people that would be better off if they didn't smoke weed. I also see first hand how it gets into the country and the effect it has on the people of Mexico. It's still Federally illegal and I think the government needs to shit or get off the pot here soon. Either they need to embrace legalization or crackdown on the states making it legal.

Is weed worse than alcohol? I can't say but I do know you can make the research favor whatever side you want. Is it that those people would have screwed up their lives without weed. Maybe but I know more people that are unsuccessful in life that smoke than those that are unsuccessful and don't smoke. All the alcoholics I know that are unsuccessful also smoke. Does that mean everyone that smokes will fail no but I think it helps make it easier to fail and accept it. Would people be able to be more successful and smoke if it were legal? Probably but there are a lot of people that would rather lose their job instead of quitting weed. As long as the better paying employers drug test and punish for failure weed will keep certain people from bettering their lives.

  10. I know a lot of people that smoke a lot of pot and their lives are not as good as they could be. One friend would smoke all the time then he just didn't give a shit and quit going to school because he'd rather get stoned all day. Now he lives with his mom and works for jiffey lube. Another friend went to college and blew through a trust fund getting stoned and drunk. Then he dropped out after being at a 2 year tech college for 4.5 years. Now he installs sports equipment for DICKS SPORTING GOODS. Another friend got kicked out of the National Guard for failing too many drug tests. Yes he failed several knowing that he was going to get kicked out. Not because he wanted out he just liked weed soo much and didn't give a shit. He lives with his grandma and works for his dads machine shop. He wishes he never got kicked out of the military but still smokes weed. All of these guys are about 26 yrs old and working jobs high schoolers can get.

  11. Also who would take the guns? Most military and law enforcement are avid gun owners and the ones that aren't know how impossible it'd be to take them.

Steps to prevent you guns being seized.

    1. Can't take em if they don't know you have em. I sold them a few years back at a gun show.

    2. Can't take em if they can't find em. Hide them.

    3. Show them you'll protect them. If they are going to take em use em. Why not?

  12. I know a girl who has a marketing position where they actually have alcohol on hand for employees to drink at work (if they desire) because it helps them be more creative and open to ideas.

I'm wondering how long the feds will tolerate possession/usage the newly legal states? I'm guessing they'll look the other way under a certain amount but will hammer those over that amount.

Depends on the agency. None are out looking for it. But when they come across it they take it. Where they draw the line on how much is the limit before citing/prosecuting is normally over what the state says is legal. The agency I work for you need several pounds before they will prosecute. If your over the state limit we will call local or state Leo's to deal with it. If your within state regs its taken along with any accessories (pipes bongs pop cans). Then it gets turned over to DEA.
