Thanks for all your help guys! Loading it was easy, only because their driveway was angled down. I had to unload it at my storage unit and come home. But i'll post pictures up within the next day or two!
the owner is deployed and is in california for another week or two. So his wife has power of attorney and is doing the deal with me (he knows all about it because I've emailed him and everything and have spoke with him on the phone multiple times)
Hey guys, I'm picking up my new bike (07 Daytona 675) tomorrow evening. Downside to it is I'm 80% sure I'm going by myself. With that being said, any recommendations for loading it into the bed of a ford ranger? I've got a ramp for the bike ( width is a little bigger than the rear tire) that i'll strap to the tail gate. When I went to the track I had to someone else, so I didn't have to worry about if it leaned to far away from me. Also I stepped up on a bucket because I'm only 5'6". Thanks!
I just sent them a message. We'll see where it goes. I know on Craigslist, you cant have duplicate ads. So i'm guessing they are waiting until it expires to chage cities. Although, I've never seen it. I'm always looking on craigs to see what bikes are out there for sale haha
Again I appreciate everyone input! Guy never even showed up so haha it doesn't really surprise me that much. I think i'd stick with cash in hand and do it that way. But we'll see when that time comes.
hahaha. yeah, I think we've all given out great advice but don't follow it ourselves. @ mykill, i'll PM you sometime tomorrow and let you know what the game plan is. I have to meet with a rep sunday evening between 4 and 5 so i told him not later than 3.
@Mykill, he's supposed to come check it out sunday sometime. We haven't figured out a time yet, but If you could do that. It'd make me feel a little better, plus i'd actually get to meet you and not just see you in gear haha. But I can always go somewhere else too and meet him and be around people
now, this is/was my first bike I bought so I have no experience in selling and doing all that jazz either so maybe that's also another reason i'm all iffy about it
I appreciate your guys input a lot! I told him it needs to be $4000 cash. All of it. Not some of it. He claims he has ridden before, but I'm kind of "eh" about it. Also I'm eh about it because when people go "da bank" and abbreviate all words....I'm a little stereotypical. Sorry to offend if i did. That goes for all races though. But not to drift away from the real topic. The next thing i'm wondering, meet in a public place or just let him come my apartment complex. The last guy who checked out my bike came to my apartment complex. He was sketchy, but cool with me saying no he couldn't ride it without cash. But he turned around and bought another because I would let him ride mine hahaha
What are your thoughts on people test riding your bike for sale? I'm currently selling my 05 zx636 and this guy is going to come look at it and wants to ride it. I told him, $4000 cash in hand and he can. But it still makes me iffy about it because the deal isn't completely done. Am I just that careful and think that anyone will try and screw me? I know that last part came out wrong haha but seriously, what are your thoughts?
I'm down to ride! we all live within a mile of one another generally. Mykill and I live in the same complex. it's nice enough to enjoy riding to its fullest. Just let me know when
I updated the original post. Still for sale, looking to get $4200, can negotiate a little. Also, still willing to trade for an 07+ R6, 07+ CBR600, 07+ Daytona 675
