  1. Believe me when I tell you that I am acutely aware of the amount of effort it takes to keep healthcare workers following universal precautions. I just don't buy it that this disease is so hard to catch. I'm not there yet. Universal precautions generally include gloves and hand washing during routine care. Go to the ER and the nurse will always have gloves on, but rarely a mask, goggles, PPE, etc... Unless they know they will be in a situation needing said PPE. Do gloves and hand washing adequately protect an individual from Ebola? If not, there's the rub. If it requires the total PPE package to safeguard, then how do we prevent the spread outside of medical institutions? If those two employees weren't using gloves and washing hands then screw them and their union. My suspicion is that we are seeing it more easily spread than what the government wants us to know,
  2. The 2nd healthcare worker in Texas has now tested positive. Universal precautions aren't protecting. Move along.....nothing to see here.
  3. http://www.foxnews.com/health/2014/10/12/health-care-worker-at-dallas-hospital-tests-positive-for-ebola/ Pop quiz for those of you with knowledge of the medical industry...... What's the first thing you learn? What do you repeat more than anything? If nothing else, what do you make sure you do right every time? Universal Precautions. Period. Is it effective against Ebola? Do we know all there is to know?
  4. Healthcare worker in Dallas tests positive. Nothing to see here.....move along.....don't lick poop and you'll be just fine....
  5. Am I the only one who sits on the closed toilet fully clothed to get some alone time?

But really though.... If you listen to ancient alien theories, they make far more sense than either evolution or Mohamamosesjesuallahyeweh.

I believe that your mind is more connected to your body than most would think. A belief that prayer is working, for the afflicted person, may actually help with their physical ailment. Someone else's belief in prayer doesn't do anything for the afflicted person. I would, however, buy in to that virgin paradise thing. That would be tits.
  10. IOS 8 is a fucking scam to screw up your phone and make you want to upgrade to iPhone 6.
  11. I doubt the deputy has contracted Ebola. If he did though, the "nothing to see here" theories have just been debunked and we are in for a shitstorm of an epidemic.
  12. Quick reverend, loot some shit.....while the other guy is still living.
  13. Thanks. I spend a significant amount of time in international airports....Logan, Newark, Baltimore, DC.
  14. Snot to hand...hand to handrail... Handrail to hand.... Hand to eye or nose?
  15. So my initial reaction to people like MT is "so they're walking around eating other people's shit?". But then I remember that we're talking about a third world country. Note the middle picture. These aren't toilets with sanitizer, soap, and water.....
  16. Well it's roots are in Africa and it's bad for America.
  17. A good time to realize this is before the pregnancy. I've get plenty of friends who are in their 40s and have chosen not to have kids. All are gay except the one that does more drugs than a healthy sperm can handle, but that's beside the point.
  18. In all seriousity, I'm pretty content now. I've been with my company 15 years and I have a good work/life balance. Travel was sucking, but now it's on my schedule with my agenda. That's a much better situation than being under someone else's thumb. Sure, I dream about the house in the woods, but then responsibility hits me. I have a family that needs to be considered. My house isn't grand, but it's in a premier school system and that is important to me. My "out" is the reason for my 401K. That will come later. For now, work hard, play responsibly, provide for my family, set my kids up for success, and have a life insurance policy that keeps my family in their current lifestyle if I should go left-of-center one day.
