  1. I had 2 different groups and one individual of H-D riders try to assimilate me into their groups yesterday. I just kept gaining speed till they got the point. It was funny when the lead bagger rider scrapped his bag and promptly slowed his pace. The lone rider was pacing me on the freeway. I had had enough and said to myself...."ya wanna pace me, let's go.......hey, where'd he go?"
  2. That is dripping with awesomeness!! I would never leave that hole!
  3. I love the 109's. I looked at and test rode one and really liked it but I could not get past the headlight assy. styling.
  4. That's why I looked for a VRSCR Street Rod-'06/'07 or VRSCD Night Rod('06-'08) with the mid controls. The Street Rod has other tweeks that make it more corner friendly as well. That info is easy to find on the 'net so I won't go into that here.
  5. I agree. The motor sounds sweet and the 9K redline sure helps. The V has such a different air about it compared to the airheads.
  6. This is a Street Rod so it actually handles corners well. They were not very popular and were only made for 2 years. Lots of differences over the standard Rods. I LOVE the motor in the V's as well.
  7. Since the Street Rod came out I have lusted after one. I have been through 2 Sportsters, an Iron and an XR1200. Both fun bikes but just not for me and I knew I did not want a big twin. I have been searching for a clean low mile Black Cherry VRSCR for a decent price for 4 months. I found a 1 owner trade in at a dealer in N. Carolina. It had 1843 original miles on it when I picked it up last week. In the last few days I added TAB baffled pipes, Amsoil air filter, Amsoil oil filter, Amsoil 20W50, Screamin Eagle Race Fueler, rear signal relocaters with a trimmed rear signal/plate holder monstrosity and had new ME 880's installed. Rode quite a bit yesterday to scuff the tires and dial in the SERF. Local dealer charges $200 for a dyno tune session. I may or may not do that as it runs great now and getting 37 mpg. This thing is a hoot to ride and handles surprisingly well with plenty of power for me. Anywhoo here are some before and afters.... As purchased: After a little work:
  8. Had the new tires installed yesterday. Dropped it off at 0900 and Ray called me at 1130 saying it was ready. Awesome folks and I will not only be using them in the future but I will recommend them as well.
  9. Were the wheels still on the bike or did you bring the wheels into them off the bike?
  10. Does the shop install tires they sell? I am local to them and they match MS's price on the tires I want.
  11. The Sundowner is not available for the Street Rod. Different seat pan and frame around the tank. The '06 SR was the first to use the modified frame for the 5 gallon tank. HD does not show any seats available but both Corbin & Saddleman make one. The SR has a thicker, higher seat from the factory though.
  12. Yup, totally not my style but cool non-the-less. I have had enough loud bikes. Me likey quiet now and 120hp is more than enough for commute/pleasure trips.
  13. Hence the reason for getting a Street Rod. Plus, I'm only talking day trips/few hundred miles not like week long cross country stuff.
  14. Already there my friend. Asked what to look out for in a used model but this thing has so lo miles on it they were a moot point.
  15. Trust me, I placed a deposit on the bike this morning. Perfect condition, low, low miles and my favorite color. Bike in question....
  16. For me, yes. This is a Street Rod, not a standard V. The differences are exactly what I was looking for as I felt like a taco shell on a V with stupid forward controls and that slammed, non-functioning suspension. Long rides on the XR were painful and most of the folks I ride with take longer trips. Maybe someday I will pick up a dedicated sportbike, who knows. I go from one bastard child to another. Matches me....I've been called a bastard before:D. Anyway, back on topic....ownership feedback?
  17. Since I sold both the Jeep and the XR it freed up some cashola to pay for a new ride without having a bank involved:D. I found an 06 VRSCR with 1284 miles/$6995 that is spotless through an H-D dealer in Charlotte as Street Rods are hard to find locally. I have wanted a Street Rod since they came out in '06. Anyway, who here has had or currently has a VRSC? I'm looking for ownership feedback.
  18. Dude, good find. That was hilarious!!
  19. *****price drop-$8200***** Current mileage: 1075
