  1. Hola...it's been a long time.
  2. I might have to take a ride out there. Will post up tomorrow when I know for sure.
  3. You have preload adjustment up front and preload adjustment in the rear, that's it. Nothing else. The stock SV suspension is budget "friendly". Or, not worth a crap. Now you are at the right range for stock suspension, spring rate wise. If you want to tweak what you have, then you will have to set your sag, by adjusting the preload on the bike. How many lines are showing on your front forks? What position is the ramp adjuster at in back? BTW - The owners manual has a section on how to set and what to set per your weight. There is also plenty of info on SVRider.com about suspension and budget upgrades if need be. Or I can help the best I can from across the internet. I've done plenty of SV suspensions in the past (rebuild, upgrade, set-up, etc...)
  4. I will not be able to make. Holiday's are the only thing that makes living 3 hours away from the wife's parent and mine unbearable. The rest of the time, it's glorious. Have fun, next time.
  5. It felt good to put some miles on. Did about 100 yesterday on the FZ1 and then another 75-ish on the Buell, running errands and stopping at a few places on Brookpark Rd with a buddy. It was freaking cold today, thank god for heated grips and thermals. Hope to actually meet some of you instead of just riding past.

They are about 1/4 gallon each (33 fl oz comes to mind... but my mind is failing and I've been drinking tonight). Cost $20 and can be found at any camping store. MSR is the mfg'er.
  7. Ridgeville is notorious for police that like to follow LOOKING for something. Today was fun... getting my FZ1 titled, was using my Buell plates...thought I was done for when I was followed ALL THE WAY THROUGH TOWN. But I was safe. There are plenty of idiots in this town, if you aren't on an HD, you are a piece of crap. Had a shouting match with a redneck in a white Dodge Ram with stacks, cause I pulled along side him to turn right at a red light. He was going straight, no turn signal... Easy peasy...plenty of room. Well, he took offense to this, turned and followed my REALLY closely the next mile. But as soon as I pulled over to the shoulder on Bagley, he passed and took off. Showing me that his truck is awesome...with all the black smoke billowing out of it. Idiots.
  8. No waves for me either today and saw a shit load of bikes. But I did scare an old lady at the Post Office. Shaved head, fat guy on a Buell apparently does that.
  9. Welcome...from another noob! PS: Zach's gonna rant... a welcome post with a LOT of posts... EVERYONE, quick, HIDE, before he's see's us.

I've never been able to coast to the pumps. Mine episodes usually involve cursing, sweating, pushing and general pissy-ness. The worst was pushing my Buell to over 220 miles on a little 4.4 gallon tank. Fell 1 mile short on 71. That last mile was a steady uphill push and the nearest gas station wasn't really near the highway. Nothing like pushing a fully geared up bike with a weeks worth of crap. Now, I learned my lesson.
  11. I love that place and it get's plenty of my money... but I might have to start with Georgia again. TWO Resort, Blood Mountain, Wolf Pen Gap etc is fantastic for a week. I surely hope they get it sorted this year. I'll be down there for June (SV Rally) but my earlier trip will have to be to Georgia...just sucks that the shortest route (that's not 75) is through the Dragon.
  12. I think I'll pass on this "conquest"Sounds good, depending on if I can schedule off, I may have to join.
  13. It looked like fun until I read - "Live to Ride...Ride the Parkway" I'm thinking this ride might be a little under my normal speed. The Parkway is amazing...but on a Tuesday or Wednesday...otherwise, is an exercise in frustration.
  14. Thanks for the Welcome's... Yes, I am an honorary North Ridgeville Hillbilly. I went from extreme to extreme. Moved to Strongsville from Buffalo back in 2001, then onto the 'Ville in 2004. No complaints yet, I find this Ohio state to be a very nice one to live in. Now I just need to get some plates on the FZ1 (was running NY plates - bought it from my dad late last year) this week. Jones'in for a ride. This weekend the wife is abandoning me, so it'll be a garage weekend getting the bikes ready (mount tires, suspension work on the FZ1 and various other crap...) But mostly it'll be drinking beer and playing with tools (that aren't named Zach!)
  15. Yes they will... Sold the SV last year... it's for sale again actually. In Alabama. The Buell is taking a nap. Sandy hills and the Buell don't mix without some speed. BUt the second time was much better....
  16. Been around riding the Cleveland and Southern Ohio area for quite some time now. Rode a few times with some "Ohio-Riders" in the past... I was bored today, so I decided to check the site out. Going to try and make a few QS&L's...haven't been to one in two years. Always seems my work travel schedule gets in the way. Anyways, not much one to putt around town, if I'm going to ride, I'm heading south for the day or weekend. Planning to be in the Smokey Mountains for a week in June (again - this will be my 7th year in a row for June). Usually go at least once more throughout the year. With some Hocking Hills madness thrown in for fun four or five times a year. See you out there... Mike - N. Ridgeville
