Also just another note for everyone to get into high gear over say 45mpg you get off the gas and back on and it will shift. Just something I deal with since it wasn't much to deal with.

Marshalls Auto Parts, Inc. has this PERFECT AOD TRANS W/WARRANTY $249.95 w/ 125,000 Miles It listed these, but I don't know what trans it has in it. Is there a place I can check the vin to see what it has or do I just need to get under the truck when I get home. AOD (5.0L) E4OD, 8-302 (5.0L)

Yeah I wouldn't of done it either, but it has been fine for 6-7 months since I had it, but it is just getting to that time to replace I feel. Since the truck was $450 when I got it I just want it to last a bit longer while I finish up my swap that I've been putting off since work and home stuff have been crazy. Anyone know of a place to get a cheap replacement?

A cheap unmaintained Audi will rob you blind if you don't have any proof. So don't take someone's word about waterpumps and belts and stuff you can't see. I would like to know how much and who if you wanted to PM me the info since I'm not looking to buy it.

Fuild is full, and also last owner changed and replaced filter a few weeks before picking it up. Max 10K on new fuild and filter.

If it doesn't have anything proving timing belts has been changed twice you need to do it a 2nd time. Every 60-70K ALWAYS. BTW this might not be any better on gas then your Blazer since it is quattro, but just a warning. Good news is you can't do anything to the motor aftermarket wise for cheap keeping it a beater is 100%

Well the truck is a 93 F-150 5.0 that has a rebuilt motor in it, but now at 244,000 miles it only has reverse in the mornings after it has been sitting. So I can leave for work and get to places I need to while my Audi is getting finished up, but how much would I be looking at for a trans to replace this one from a yard. Otherwise how much does a truck trans cost to rebuild. Doesn't seem like it would take much to pull the trans, but don't really have a way to get trans to a place once pulled. Any ideas or know of a cheap trans that works. If I can get better highway gear with a newer trans that will bolt up with no other problems I would be game.

I could have mine up here at my store (Polaris) tomorrow no problem. It is just resting in the block not bolted in.

I have one from a 2.4 in the back garage. It is getting a bit rusty, but if that works let me know.

We have the same. We took him over due to someone else not being able to have the room. After a week at the pound they called to have him picked up due to he wasn't eating or going to the bathroom. Now that he is at our place it is great and acts like he is 2-3 years old instead of his 9 years old.

Exhaust and chip is the best thing you can do for it , but like Kickass said not much upgrading past that. This is why I'm doing a B5 S4 2.7TT engine swap. I'm going to finish it up this month since I now have some time and just a few more parts I need to pick up.

I wouldn't mind doing a trade, but unless you need a bed then I'm no help. Doesn't have to a Tempur I'm selling if you need something.

I vote Audi, but just make sure to change timing stuff every 60,000 miles, and oil changes 4-5with 0-40 euro. If you get the oil change stuff when on sale for 19-25 for the oil and filter stock up when the sale is.
