  1. My dad bought me a moped back in '83 (when I was too young to ride legally) and I rode it everywhere...as soon as I needed new transportation in college, I bought a Nighthawk 650. As the others have said, be ware of your surroundings, keep your head on a swivel and just like when you are driving, anticipate the other drivers jumping into your lane, turning in front of you, etc.. Every time I come up to an intersecting road, I'm off the gas, covering the brakes and staring the driver down. Just yesterday, I had to point (nicely) at a person trying to hang a left into my lane. They will kill you, if you aren't aware. Everytime I hear a story about a rider going down for a SMIDSY (Sorry, Mate, I didn't see you) I think about how lucky I was when it happened to me and always have it in mind.
  2. Paging Pauly...oh Pauly, come out and play-e-ay!
  3. Awesome - it goes to 11:metal::metal:

    With a meat hammer?
  6. I've got nothing constructive to say.
  7. Do you have pricing info yet, Ryan?
  8. I've done the searching of both the site and the interwebs, but I'm interested in YOUR experience. I would like a system that integrates well with and Android phone, is reliable and pairs quickly and can be used mostly for music (mp3's or pandora or FM), GPS directions. Ease of use so my little girl can chat with me on rides and occasionally to chat rider to rider.
  9. Urine all around where they sleep - sounds like basic training http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mlwzf_bqVI
  10. I'll probably be back at Barber for Vintage again this year. That's not until Oct. though and unless something amazing happens, I won't be racing.
  11. ..and I've still got the R1 to look forward to for the solo stuff!
  12. The SS/SP was a joy to own and I wasn't doing it justice...the only reason(s) he sold it to me was because 1) he thought he wanted to start doing long trips with the wife (he didn't) and 2) the SS needed some attention that he wasn't equipped to give her. I have since corrected the problems with the 900 and the maintenance is up to snuff so I now plan on setting the ST4 up with an intercom and some heated gear to ensure I will always be riding. The Corbin with the backrest and an intercom will help me feel better when my little girl is on the back and WE are putting in some serious miles. And the bags mean no more laptop strapped to my back! And Pauly, I'd take the 900 over the ST4 if it was my only bike...and no offense, but I'd take either over the 1st gen Italian Army Multi-tool - just cuz I can't get over that goofy-ass fairing. And I'm a dumb-ass - it's a 2000 - 916 motor - not the 996. Makes a lot of pretty noises, though.
  13. ....not really (or really) but the Supersport went back to the original owner and I'm now the proud owner of a redhead with a fat ass! 2002 Ducati ST4, that is....I got tired of him bit*&(ng about missing the SS and the ST4 fit my "want to commute everyday" style of riding, so we traded.
  14. Drop by desmohio.com and Chris will get back to pretty quickly (Cyclecat)
  15. Cycle Cat has a great bar system. http://www.cyclecat.com/bar-mounting-systems
  16. Ducati has been on the shopping block for a while now...there were some hard rumors that an Indian (dot not feather) company was going to buuy them, so this is god news in my bok...and yes, I want a TDI Multi! Bad!
  17. Accepted And I got it! Now to the original question, I've usually bought the package deals from sportbiketrackgear.com and for 2Ct's or Q2's the prices are hard to beat. When Hoblick posted his prices on the forum, I compared and they are right in line with what I was paying. Soooo, use Hoblick and he can mount your neighbor's tires, too. Added bonus, he's local, you're supporting small businesses, etc... blahblahblah.
  18. I would tell you the same, but Hoblick still hasn't accepted my FB friend request.
  19. Yota knows the guy...he was posting on FB about it before the show.
  20. There's a video out there and Roland says he didn't cut anything..just removed the subframe and built a custom tracker rear, so it could be put back to stock.
  21. So's my...um...yeah. anywho, how much fer da kawi?

We are on the way to Mid-O for the races one year and my buddy went past us at a decent clip, turned the corner and sped up Steam Corners...we caught up to him at WillCall and he was picking a crow out from between the fairing and the engine. It was medium rare by the time he got it all out. (and it's my bike now) He said it landed right in front of him and all he had time to do was duck behind the fairing.
  23. Welcome aboard - Please ensure your seatbelt is on and your tray is in the upright and locked position.
  24. From what I've heard (hearsay) there are people who will find and buy you a bike, you can ride it through the TT and when you are done, sell it through them, for a much cheaper cost than trying to ship one.
