Just like a friend down here from Columbus, a guy who is a huge buckeye fan ( and longtime Columbus resident) said, "Ohio didn't earn a #4 ranking". I agree. That being said, since then they have done very well. But this Oregon team is proving to be a defenses' nightmare. I expect the Ducks to win.

It was a chokehold, tried and true, and it worked wonders, didn't it. The Leo jumped up, put the chokehold on and let his weight help in doing the damage. Its all on film, and saying a local grand jury (that exonerated the officer) has it right and all is good, is bs.

My feelings on these issues is that the Martin killing was questionably justified, but based on what 'evidence' we know of, the shooter was exonerated. In Ferguson, again, based on evidence presented, a group of peers found the shooting was justified. I'm good with each outcome because when it comes to brass tacks, all we have is evidence to prove justification or condemnation of those police actions, right? IN a day when the legal system actually seems to favor protecting the guilty, sometimes the guilty really are dealt with according to the situation. In the Cleveland gunning down of the 12 yo, sounds like some inept Leo's screwed the pooch and killed an innocent kid unnecessarily, again, based on what is known about the happenings. But the investigations that found the agency to be lacking in so many areas of police conditioning sort of condemns this event into a total screwup by the CPD leading to these officers reacting instead of using some common sense. But h9w many of us have really ever dealt with a threat like a kid with a gun like that especially the way things are today with so many of our inner city youths and gangs. Gardner's demise came about because of a choke hold seen on video by the nation. Whether the choke actually killed him or led to his body doing some weird shit later, the choke was still the root of the cause of death imho. I do not care what kind of training this officer went through defining what an actual choke hold is, when you see his hands locked together under the big guy's chin while pulling back on Gardner, that is a choke hold. I went through extensive training about that and other 'take down' procedures concerning psychotic and mentally ill veterans while working as a psych nursing assistant at a VA Psychiatric hospital. If I were on the grand jury I would have voted for the the officer to be dealt with over using an unauthorized manuever to apprehend Gardner. I also agree with Sharpton (God help me....lol) when he said officers and their actions (like these) should not be investigated by local groups, but rather by peoples who may not be directly associated with those being investigated. Based on the video and what Gardner was saying like 10 or 11 times (I can't breath) he was choked. imho, that right there should have been enough to warrant further investigation and a possible trial.

You mean like Richard Jewel who was falsely accused of the bombing incident at the Atlanta Olympics? BTW, there is a justifiable reason why polygraphs are not admissable in court, they are too easily manipulated. I sure wouldn't put my life on the line based on a polygraph result. But I'm with those who feel like the grand jury outcome should end it all.

The 'jobs lost' numbers are rather ambiguous just like those being touted concerning the casino's that were built here in Ohio. But I believe there will still be many jobs lost if it doesn't get approved, and I think it will. The vote was very close as it was, so once congress re convenes it will most likely get pushed through.

Its being reported that several Rams players were out during the demonstrations outside the game being played. They raised their arms akin to how Brown was said to have raised his hands in surrender to the police prior to his shooting. Now the police organizations are up in arms calling for the NFL to fine those players. I doubt the NFL will do that, but those few players should have know how classless their actions were and how they could very well instigate all this to continue. These people need to let go and realize the reality of the how and why's of what happened, imho.

It was in the paper the other day that the FBI (iirc) finalized their investigation and found evidence to support every claim of the officer involved in the Borwn shooting in Fergeson, yet the protests continue. Time to shut them down by force if necessary.

Here in Circleville we have Verizon wireless. These phones we bought say we are receiving 4g. I have seen it drop to 3g, but only when we are on the road. Within the last year it was announced AT&T put a 4g hub in Circleville, maybe that has something to do with it. I'm too new at this smartphone stuff to be able tell you for sure. We went with directv so I could get the NFL ticket, but Turner does offer cable TV here on our road, just no cable internet. You might check with them for your particular spot. Our internet provider is Frontier-dsl. Speeds are ok, nothing super fast although they offer a high speed version-just not here where we live...lol. Hope this helps.

How long has ebola been plaguing Africa? Knowing of its spread there and considering how easy a person can jump on a plane for anywhere it would seem the cdc would have already been on top of this teaching top level hospitals how to handle an ebola patient. Ebola is probably not going to become the next bubonic plague. It is dangerous, it can be deadly. The biggest thing about it being here in what some of you think is a 'epidemic proof' dome, is how this infection has shown the glaring deficiencies in our precious CDC and its 'procedures' as well as how well prepared our level 1 health facilities really are when it comes to protecting us from potential plague like diseases. We should be more concerned with that, probably moreso than our chances of becoming infected with ebola. Think if some sort of highly contagious, highly deadly disease hit the US in the same manner ebola came here. Something manmade with no known cure, something they also had to create a serum for. Holy crap...
