  1. You can always make your own sync tool. A friend of mine made one like this and I used on my old YZF600R and it worked well enough for the rare times I needed it. http://www.zx6e.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=5333&hl=
  2. LOL, that's what I saw as well. All the news and update are dated without years so I was confused on the timing of what I was reading about. Too bad. There was a lot o hype about this track.
  3. Seems like each organization's groups are so different. I rode exclusivelt with STT last year and I did Intermediate. I was slow, but predictable and consistent in lines. Just rode my own ride and concentrated on one or two things to improve on each day. The Novice group had good instructions, but after the 3rd or 4th track day I just wanted to practice those lessons on my own so I moved to Intermediate. NESBA seemed to have less structre in Novice with Intermediate being faster paced. I'd consider Novice with them. I'll have to find all of you guys at my next track day. Nice to find some people to get pointers from.
  4. Are we still talking about track days?
  5. So is this elusive "dream" track really exist. Have they had any track days there yet?. I recall in 2009 there was a big delay and I don't recall seeing any events scheduled there last year. Their website doesn't say much. Just trying to figure how many kids I have to sell so I can hit all of these tracks...
  6. how's Moto Series compare to STT or NESBA? I guess I'll have to switch from Engine Ice to WW according to the requirements.
  7. LOL! You'd think they'd re-think the whole approach after the first "rub", but hitting it over and over again, then pushing it into the next car...WOW
  8. +1 Bro. Not enough vacation time either.
  9. I'd definitely like to try Beaverun. Only 1.5 hrs for me now this year, but I agree, don't want to pay another membership. MO for sure this year. didn't get the chance last year since i was in Michigan at the time. Love Gingerman and Grattan...They've been my staple tracks. What's Moto Series? Another track day org?
  10. well, I'll say this a much better idea than the original post. Sounds like you're working things out. Personally, I'd still ride out. But 3 day rides from dawn to dusk is not everyone's cup of tea...to each their own. Regardless, plan on an extra $200 each of you as "oh-shit" just in case money. It'll come in handy if you have any problems or Sugar at the Bunny Ranch takes you to the Champagne Room.
  11. No prices, but schedule is up now. Surprised on such an early date at Grattan...mid April is dicey. ...sooo many choices.... http://sportbiketracktime.com/
  12. also keep in mind that the total weight you can pull is usually based on one driver at 150lbs with no other load. So unless you and your buddy are about 75lbs each and you have no other luggage for your 3 week trip, you'll be maxing your load limit. As flounder and many others have said, it's not the braking, it's the sway you'll need to worry about. Also load distribution is very important. too much in the front and you'll over stress your shocks. To far back and you'll end up raising the back end up and lose traction/control. rule of thumb is usually 60%-70% of the weight should be upfront. the 14" radial tires will help as well. If you can't borrow a truck, I'd say +1 on a couple people's suggestion on riding your bikes out. Pack lightweight, a tent or cheap hotels, plus the AMA roadside assistance plan, you'll be a lot better off. Long distance trips are not bad if planned well (the right luggage, preplanned stopping points, etc). honestly, i'd rather do your trip on 2 wheels versus your other option. It'd actually probably be more enjoyable, just add an extra day of travel time each way. GL man.
  13. I'm blessed right now to have just bought a house with a 3 car garage. Both cars in the garage and the 3rd section is the man cave/MC home. Also have a shed for the lawn equipment and other big items like ladders, shovels, wheelbarrow, etc. Really don't see how I'd ever be able to downsize the garage qty in the future. Previously, we had a 2 car. Wife's in the garage, mine outside. Second spot for the tools and bike. It was never a debate for us because either I let her park or I was out scrapping and warming up the car. Some may say I'm whipped, but the way I see it, it's my hobby/passion, not hers that causes this problem. ...Happy Wife means Happy Life
  14. well, first of all at least he didn't say " you greedy bastard. get the fuck out!" He could be blowing smoke or he could be sayign the truth. I've seen both happen to me personally. As mentioned, don't accept until you have the agreed upon salary in writing. The compensation also includes vacation, benefits, etc. In all companies, it's easier to get the money when hired in rather than getting a large increase internally. Hope it all works out.
  15. So what are you saying? Good Luck Tyler. Hope it works out for you. Either way great job getting the job!
  16. Then at least ask for more money before you say no. Then if you are really concerned that is a possibility, then take it, but start looking hard elsewhere. Obviously you are a good worker otherwise you wouldn't have this offer. They are most liekly not going to fire you for asking for fair compensation.
  17. But taking a boat to Brazil would be 28 days on an ocean vessel and is not realistic. I understand your point about bitching but it doesn't mean if you don't have a solution you can't "bitch". If that were true, everyone of my superiors would be out of job and I'd have less than 30 minutes of meetings a day rather than 6 hours. Our Congress would be empty. And my wife would have nothing to say to me. Anyways we can agree to disagree.
  18. My previous job was with a global logisitics firm and I traveled more than 30+ times a year. Many times I'd be in Atlanta one week and then California the following monday. I've also had to fly to Europe and Brazil. Driving or "Greyhound specials" are just not feasible. My job required me to fly. Technological advancements and Global Companies require companies to be more productive. So lazy may be misconstrued to being efficient or more productive. Besides the debate I posed is not that we should be allowed to fly unrestricted, but that we shouldn't just accept status quo. Being vocal about things such as this is the way society improves.
  19. Everything is negotiable. If they deemed you worthy of being hired, be honest with them and let them know you really appreciate the offer but you can't take a job for less pay and more work. Every boss I've worked for is understanding about that. And I've been on the hiring end as well. If they say no, then do you really want to stay at a company in the long term if they treat their employees that way. Now of course if the possibility of getting fired is the result then take it, but start looking seriouly elsewhere in the meantime. BTW, congrats on the promo regardless.
  20. mmmm...not sure I agree with you Brian. Flying is not a privilege if your work requires you to travel across the country, then driving is not feasible. And switching jobs is not real easy these days. Yes, maybe going overboard a bit. I can agree with that. But that's how things get changed or improved. There is a better way than their current solution. I don't claim to know it. But I'm not going to be a sheep or a lemming and blindly follow someone just because there is no other way. just my opinion.
  21. So is business just slower, or do you close up shop? I've been planning on get a custom tune done, maybe you'd drum up a little business if you had a winter rate. At least for those who could trailer would be able. Otherwise you could look at driving a courtesy shuttle at a car dealer, work at a car wash, or for retail, think of where you spend most of your money so you can get an employee discount.
  22. Personally I like a blacked out cruiser look. With those whitewalls, I'd say add some white pin strips on the tank bag.
