Bell > Scorpion I thought there was a nice thread about this recently. There really is no comparison. I went from Exo-400 to Exo-1000, thought it was a nice upgrade, and my Star blows the others out of the water... The Exo-1000 was hurting my neck so badly I was having trouble working. As far as the color scheme... Who cares. Get a sheet of shiny adhesive-backed stickery stuff and cut something cool out of it. Stick it on and voila. imo, buy based on functionality.
hm. i had the el cheapo shorty levers on my 650. never heard anything bad about them until now. i just figured it's a "made in amurrica from amurrican alumniumnium" markup... they held up fine for me while i had it. :-/
the $79 dollar price gives you mandatory advertisements... i saw it and was about to plunk down, but caught that. though it probably isn't intrusive, i think that's just ridiculous.
I feel ya. That's what's holding me back from getting a ccw. I don't trust myself in the heat of the moment. I wouldn't hesitate to pull my baton and break a couple bones though. Definitely sounds like an adrenaline rush. The bad kind.
muchas gracias. yah, i decided i'm going to leave a black chunk on the bottom of mine though. too much road grime gets all over it, and i don't clean it as much as i should. i didn't even take the tank off yet. i've got the screws out, but didn't want to disconnect the hose cuz i read somewhere it drips slowly while it sits. and... meh, i'm good on fumage for now. the bike is in the living room. if it were in the garage, it'd be a different story lol.
wintery stuff: adjusting cables, oil, valvetrain check thingamajig, other fluids, blarg. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!!! i wrecked it not too long ago. not a lot of damage, just a few spots of rash, but nonetheless, it's my excuse to paint it all. that new guy's white r6 peaked my interest, and i think i may try my own version. :-)
some lsl crash pads. mike was quick and courteous about it, and they should be in the mail tomorrow. i've got xenons on the way, and will be painting it sometime over winter as well. it'll be a brand new beast!
so on the 650, there was a little one way valve on the tank so you wouldn't have to drain the tank when you take it off. r6 forums are generally dead for some reason, so i'm asking here is this standard on all tanks? i know, newb question, but i've only ever owned one bike. and really don't feel like being doused with a near full tank of gas.
So I'm wanting this item, which I can get from a site sponsor for $20 less than my local shop. I'd like to support them, but I'm a broke cheap ass. thus buying online. How do you guys buy? Local or cheap?
Yup yup. rebond is closed cell. I plan to raise the crotch to lessen sliding, but with a banana "u" so I can keep the middle low to straddle easy. I do want to widen it slightly, and pad up the rear for riding comfort. Depending on how much my brother uses, I'll see how much I can do.
very nice r6. i bought my 05 this spring. had a 650 last year as my "beginner bike." i'll say i'm glad i had it. and i'll also say that i miss it. it was a fun little bitch, and didn't break my back as a commuter. the r6 is a blast though, don't get me wrong. i already dumped it too. wet road, planning to go through a green light, but it changed, and the intersection was on a curve, so the braking and turning was too much. just try to minimize your risks for the first couple thousand miles. yes. THOUSAND. the first one thousand, i thought i was a beast. then i rode with others... lol. i'm still plenty newb. but i aint giving it up any time soon either. good luck with your beautiful new bike. btw, go to theretrofitsource.com and get the mini kit. that is my fiance's christmas gift to me this year. verrry stoked. one more p.s. the guys here are whiny girls. don't let them get to you.
yah... if they were concerned about safety, or keeping their company afloat, they'd sell the technology to the well-known helmet makers. great idea though. maybe a tad too ambitious.
I went to foamorder.com, it's one of the sites listed on diymotorcycleseats. got 5 12x12x1 in. pieces of rebond, 3 of one of their mediums, 3 of their medium soft. They have a lot of choices. They relate their rebond to their v90 which has an ILD of 70 lbs. and it will not bottom out. It'll be the most used for sure, but I grabbed the softer ones to help smooth out the top when we're done.
And my brother's, of course. That's my justification at least. It's a christmas gift! http://www.diymotorcycleseat.com/index.php That site has tons of good info. Any of you guys here done it? Any other advice? I'm kinda thinking that though it'll ruin the surprise, I'm gonna have to tell him before christmas, so I can get his input on what he doesn't like.
ooh, i've been slightly schooled in aquariums. my fiance works at jacks and has done salt and fresh. if yall have any questions, i've got free expert advice! :-)
