  1. I lane split on my way to work this morning. Reminded me of this thread. My gas light was on, it was raining, and like usual, traffic was crawling while rubber necking at some cop with a van on the side of the ramp from 35w to 75s. I just cruised around the outside of the ramp at 7-15 mph. And yes, I got honked at once. :-)
  2. Waddaya know. It's only ever had a wal-mart radio so I haven't ever seen a double in it, but that's my dash.
  3. 34 degree ride to work wasn't that bad actually. On the way home, I felt like I had a bullseye on my helmet, though. People were even more idiotic than usual.
  4. Josh, pretty sure that's too big, but thanks. Guess I need a single din then.
  5. and, all these posts need conglomerated, as i clicked quote... and couldn't read the other posts to reply to, too... anywho, jstumpalump, i may ask you to hold it until i get paid/ rummage through my dad's endless crates of junk. he's replaced the radio on probably every vehicle he's owned, most of them chrysler now that i think about it.
  6. planning on it. we tried it out for a year, and this isn't the only thing that's happened here. i do agree that woodman park itself is pretty much a breeding ground for stupidity.
  7. maybe when i have a car i care about... i can't even lock my doors on this thing! they'd have broken the window anyway, but still. anything i buy toward my car will be a new bearing assembly. and of course, maybe $15 toward a simple radio to keep my awake at night.
  8. i'm (stupidly) determined to ride until the end of the quarter. i did last year, with a few exceptions, which i'll make this year probably but tomorrow should be ok, i'm pretty safe in the 8 o clock piranha-fest.
  9. 6 pages and no entertainment. He's ignoring this thread.

Dam I wish I had money. Lbtsglws
  11. first q while i consider my upcoming project. the kit has two lights. my bike has 4. 2 low beams on the left, 2 high beams on the right. i know i could just put the bi-xenons in one position, say the inside, and the halogens on the outside, but wiring them to be on at the same time would be tricky... considering just leaving 2 unplugged, and using only the bi-xenons. they'll be plenty of light for sure. it'd just be tacky. maybe i'll take the other projectors out. haven't actually had the lights off yet, so idk if i could do so without a lot of jerry rigging. but nothing can be as jerry rigged as the bi-xenons i had on the 650.
  12. though cool, we're still a long way away from floating around in hover cars. the energy required to keep a regular superconductor at the correct temperature would not be remotely plausible given the population of people on the road today. nor would the resources even be available to make that many vehicles with the stuff. heck, if it was viable, a lot of things would be much better. instant-fast computers, practically free electricity, and yes. floating anythings. put your floating chandelier anywhere you dam well please.
  13. i've had two wal-mart radios stolen from my car now, simply because they look pretty. the last one even had the wrong faceplate, so only the left seek, and volume buttons were properly functioning. screen didn't work either. dayton is a shitty place to live. but i'll need tunes this winter. all that needs to function is the cd player. that's all i had, it's all i ask for. only, i want this one to be "stock" looking so the little thug ass-hats will keep their hand off my car. anyone have something laying around? if it matters, which i don't think so, it's for a 98 Avenger.
  14. i don't think the helmet strap would fit around his neck!
  15. springfield is near enough to dayton that this would be kinda cool. so long as i've got my bike together, i'm in. but... i do plan to be doing some shtuff at some point or another this winter.
  16. worst damage of all, right there lmso. that s is for shoe... <_< . . . . . >_> . . LBTS GLWS oh, and csc:
  17. Totally agreed. My little halogen projectors look like dim dots from a car's perspective.
  18. i'll say. if only it was for an 05. i do plan on doing that, (theoretically this winter, if funds are available). had a set up like it on the 650 and still feel blind without it. i may bounce some ideas off you if that's cool?
  19. I feel as though more "gifts" week be given in LA...
  20. heh, speaking of oil leaks, i went on a ride with my dad and his church biker gang(majority harleys), and one of them had a leak. he said it was because the dealer(who does all his maintenence) tightened the filter on too tight and "broke a seal or something"...
  21. i looked on m comp. what i was talking about was why the r6 bar ends were $72 when the universals were in the $50s. but i see now that the universals, as well as others have the actual weights, and a bolt separate, but on the r6 bars, the bar end itself has a bolt sticking out of it...
  22. i can see how using it would give you more wind noise. think of putting a seashell up to your ear. even though it's quiet around you, sound is bounced back into your ear. so in the box, all the buffeting can't leave out the back, but rattles the microphone instead. the waterproof door can also lead to condensation in there.
  23. i just use r2. it's 30fps at the max youtube will allow. i think that's 720, but don't really remember. haven't recorded anything since school started. but it looked fine to me when i was watching stuff. op, it sucks at dusk or nighttime. also, you have to have a solid mounting point. ninjadoc has a thread in "ride routes and reports" with some good ideas for damping vibration if that's your issue.
