After reading all 8 pages, I am glad to see that most everybody here wears their helmets. I always wear mine, as well as jacket gloves, boots and jeans. Sure, I get hot, but I like being alive.
As far as being forced to don a helmet, I obviously wouldn't mind, as I do it anyway. Yes, that is slightly over the boundaries set for the government in the constitution, but guess what, people? Most laws are. Mandatory insurance, all things vehicle related, building codes, the "No Child Left Behind" act, and plenty are not really touched on in the Constitution.
Because it is old. Laws update it, in their messed up way. Laws made by messed up, greedy a-holes. When compared to most laws in existence, I like the idea of a helmet law.
Oh, and by the way, loud pipes break sound ordinances.
clink, clink. $.02

Well, I'll just have to hope it holds. I don't have the money for another. Just wanting some opinions, if anybody has ever had this happen to them?

I got my new Michelin Road 2's yesterday.
And today, I hit a nail. It got lodged in my tread, and laid almost flat, which is good, but the tip did puncture about a half inch along the groove. It slid just under the skin of the rubber. When I got home tonight, I pulled it out with some needle nose pliers, and a screw driver.
What do you guys think? It looks like it won't really sacrifice the integrity of the tire, will it?

Thanks for the advice guys. I didn't want to wait, though so I went to iron pony yesterday.
-
Well, I took a trip to Iron Pony yesterday. Shopped around, and they had a slightly better deal on the Road 2's. Next time, I'll change them before I'm too scared to wait any longer. And find out where Hoblick is. :-)

I would, but I don't even have the equipment to take my wheels off here at my mom's. And it needs done today. I don't want to go another week riding to work on these things. Which is what would happen, because I currently don't have possession of my car.

I'll do that! Where do you go to?
But first thing's first, I desperately need new tires... My front is scalloped to hell, and the wear indicators are almost level with the tread!
And jagr, yeah I took the MSF before doing anything more than clutch control practice in my driveway. O:-)

I know of Competition Accessories, and Iron Pony. I'm wanting Michelin Pilot Road 2CTs, and so far, Iron Pony is offering a better deal, and I know they install as well. Competition Accessories, I'm not sure about.
Any other shops that install around here?

This sounds fun. I go to Wright State as well, so I could certainly meet up there. However, until school starts, my job makes me their bitch. Nonetheless, lemme know if you plan on another ride?

e-flores, do you know of any good roads around here? I like taking Deardoff to Wood to get to I-75 over at the new Austin ramp. It has a few curves, and much less traffic.

Welcome!!! I think you and I are the only frankliners around here, thanks I was the only one...... What part of Franklin are you in? And by any chanc did you buy the bike off of a guy named JB?
No, he called himself brad, but when we went to switch the loan over his real name was john I believe. It's a j and a b...
But I'm on 73 / 2nd st. just across from cashland.

Watch out for the leg humpers.
My legs are hairy and currently littered with bug bites. That would be unpleasant. To say the least...

Wow, quick posts. I guess everybody would be sitting at home bored right about now. Never heard of snarky before... i feel as though there is a negative connotation I don't know about.
edit: Nope. I'm on 73, just across from Cashland. Mine's black, the fast color anyway.

hi all.
My name's Robby or Sparky, your choice.
I got my 06 ninja 650R this spring for $3900 from a private seller. It was what he had left on his loan. It is indeed my first bike, and i will admit my noobishness now. Please feel free to school me if i make an ignoramoose out of myself. I did take the MSF course, and have my license now.
Anywho... I'm located in Franklin, however I am new here, and don't really know my way around, like I do Miamisburg, my hometown. Looking forward to possibly meeting and riding with some other guys.
end.

Scorpion Exo-400. I'm looking for something that's lighter, but still as comfortable as this one. Fully removable pads is a must, too.
