  1. No razor can handle my epic 'till riding season' beard. When the time comes I will have to go to a machine shop and get it trimmed on the band saw, then have them mill the rest down.

apparently i have a man crush on you and rep you too much. but this is epic.

  2. So, the project is underway. We came across Ninja 250 stuff for way cheap, and it fits the requirements. But, a couple of the tires are way old and dry rotted. I don't need new. nor do I need a lot of tread. Just not too old, time wise.

I can pay, but not much. (It's tax deductible too!) And I can travel to retrieve them. Any of you guys with shops that recycle them anyway?

Looking for 130/80-16 and 110/90-16. Thanks for any leads!

  3. I dont hate on HD's, just a lot of their owner's can act like absolute anus'.

There's HD fans, and there's HD fanatics. If you're a fan, you appreciate the bikes for what they do within your lifestyle.....if you're a fanatic, the bike BECOMES your lifestyle. Do or die types don't impress me, and have given me shit on occasion about my choices in a bike. I'd always check every pocket and could never find 1 fuck to give about their closed minded opinion. I ride a jap sport because it does what I ask of it, and I love the experience - HD can do the same, but to me they are simply selling a product based on it's heritage at a huge margin over metric versions of equal quality.

This is simply my opinion, nothing more and no personal hate intended.

Get the bike you want, and enjoy it.....just dont 'love it, live it, or leave it' like so many seem to do. It's not just for Americans or a war between countries, it's a brotherhood for all to share and be part of together.

    qft.

my father and his wife own harleys. they subscribe to the 'live it' clause. when i get my big boy job, i'm gonna get pops on a metric cruiser, and convert him. if nothing else, get him out of the feet forward style. it's worse on your back than full tuck on a race replica.

  4. Fudged up the quote, on my phone:

"As for the -1/+2 thought, that equates to about a +1 in the rear overall "

I'm no expert racer tech smarty pants, like you, but I'm pretty sure that's more like + 3.5-4 in the rear. Lower in the front gives torque just like higher in the rear.

To op, just find the 10 link length. Most manufacturers have a scale for that. That's how I knew my old chain was shit. you don't need a caliper, just a tape. And google. :D

  5. lmao thanks! my advisor is all about chinese knockoffs. he's from taiwan himself. "this is capitalism. america can't be capitalist and good to environment at same time. you buy what cheap. BUT! alway check shipping!"

anywho, these are just about the cheapest rim i can find that i think(read hope) meets the specifications i need... i i just want to make sure before we send money...

it says the width of tire is 2.5", but is that the width at the rim sidewall or the tips? i mean, my tires extend out a bit on each side. any other suggestions? :D

  6. I abused my R6.. The wreck was in a parking lot. At a skills refresher at Solid Rock this spring. The tps was fudging up and trying to stall the bike the whole way through. I got to the quick stop, and my frustration led me to accelerate much quicker than the Rebel 250 that I last tried on did. My quick stop turned into a long slide... The bike went at least 100 feet and into the grass on the far side of the lot. Luckiily the fairings were already off.

I admit to most of my retard moments being inexperience.

For squidliness, I need to work on road rage. I've made some decisions I knew weren't good ideas. Punched a guy's mirror who was trying to run me off the road once.

I also tried to get on the bike while walking it. Pulled my bad shoulder out keeping it up, but I did!

  7. so long as it is above the suspension, it should be fine. if you do helmet mount, depending on the helmet mount, it can definitely cause drag on the highway. if you can manage it on the chin bar, that would be ideal.

  8. practicality isn't necessary for art... look at anything with paint on a piece of paper. utterly useless.

i personally like it. as has been stated, it would probably bottom out off road, and slide out on road... but it'd be fun to goof off with.
