I'm sure I'll be wanting to ride either Saturday or Sunday.
-
That was my line of thought on staying west as well. There's a few places over that way that seem reasonable.

Yeah there are a couple places like that downtown, though the JW and the Crowne Plaza both have parking right next to the hotel. JW is like $400/night though so I doubt I'll be staying there. I'm also considering out west of town as well, although if people are planning shenanigans downtown on Saturday night I'd like to avoid having to drive/ride anywhere afterwards. I'm one of those weirdos that won't set foot near a vehicle after I've had any alcohol at all.

Probably riding unless a hurricane decides to swing through again. If parking for bikes isn't an issue I'll probably look for a room somewhat close to downtown, assuming any rooms are left for under $300/night.

this thread is getting better with age. I still need to find accommodations. Is parking at the track a PITA over the weekend?

Scratch that... Damn work.

I'll probably be up there tomorrow. Novice course though, assuming there's still room. Taking the barber-shop approach.

I waved like a madman at Dave. I would have waved like a madman at you, James but your bike snuck up on me like a stealth bomber.

The spring/shock setup I have would work for someone like 270-310'ish. Probably would want to swap for a lighter weight oil if you're on the lower end of that though. If you're re-doing the rear shock I would REALLY suggest looking into respringing the front as well. Sonic Springs has a guide on their site for spring rate vs. weight.

Looking like it may stay decent most of the day. They are calling for a 20% chance of rain down south near New Lexington. Spotty showers I guess. See you guys at 9.

The suspension upgrade made it a totally different bike, one that actually holds a line through a curve. Effortless I guess would be the best way to describe cornering after the swap. If I were to hang onto it, the next upgrade would be some new brakes and braided lines.

I gave myself an ultimatum this morning, if I didn't ride the SV to work I was going to put it up on OR and so, here we are. I really like this bike but I don't want it sitting around gathering dust and I don't see myself riding it too often with my new Striple love affair. Thought about tracking it but I really don't want to do that to a perfectly good, titled bike. The low-down: 2008 sv650s - Grey 6390 miles (slightly more now, took a couple rides on it last season) Motosliders - no cut, lower fairing is fully intact Resprung front end - 1.0kg sonic springs, 20wt fork oil fresh this spring. no emulators ZX14R rear shock - direct bolt on Short levers - adjustable Pirelli Diablo Strada tires Mechanically sound, runs great Has been an outdoor bike for half its life, it has been covered but it's definitely not garage-kept perfect A couple scratches on the fairing from a low speed drop I will include the stock springs/shock with the bike along with any other misc parts. Asking $4000 on the list of Craig but will do $3400 for an OR member; reasonable offers will all be considered, looking for cash at this time. Photos: (any damage/blemishes shown here) New picture: Here you see her in her den, hibernating for the winter.

rain rain go away... don't come back again until you're actually needed, thanks.

I'm out if it is October. Literally. Out of state the entire month. September might work though.

I tend to ease off on blind sections myself, especially on roads I'm unfamiliar with. Always wary of cars sitting in the road around a corner or whatever else. Did you guys pick this trooper up going the other way or was he sitting with his predator camouflage on and saw you all zoom past?

Just lick disposables clean before you stick them in, the saliva will for sure kill any bacteria from your ears. For sure.

I personally use my brake light to send morse-code insults to people behind me. This may cause mixed signals. - --- ... ... - .... .. ...

I'm afraid of cylons too.

you'd think this would be something insurance companies might subsidize
