  1. For what Tim wants, Dan's SV would be a better choice. Being perfectly honest and everything.
  2. Just sell your trailer hauler when you need a street bike and sell your street bike when you need a trailer hauler. EZPZ
  3. Sounds like a good run. I may be down early while you guys are still doing your Tour d'Ozark so I might run up that way during that time as well. @TimTheAzn going to find an el-cheapo street bike so you can tag along? I'd offer you the SV as a loaner but the suspension might be a little stiff for you, and I might not have it by the time June rolls around :|
  4. I'd guess EFI would stop that from ever happening these days.
  5. I see no reason to buy anything other than a Mazda for any reason right now. Even the new Miata refresh looks good.
  6. with KTM's prices I figured they already had a 100% tariff placed on them.
  7. Well, there it is. And yeah, talk to the seller for details but it didn't sound like he made any modifications, although he may have painted it black.
  8. Got a line on a 900ss track bike that's for sale. There's a little hitch but not bad - the frame doesn't have a title with it. However, there is a 2nd frame that comes with the bike that has a clear title. The current owner works at a dealership here in Columbus and has too many bikes so he's in the process of unloading the ones he doesn't use often. He's actually the guy that used to own my 750ss track bike years ago. Supposedly there are other goodies besides the extra frame that come with it. The bike has a 944 bore kit on it and full race plastics. The owner said he was looking in the $2600 range. He's not a member on here but I said I would toss up a feeler. If anyone is interested, toss me a PM and I'll get you his #.
  9. Yeah, I'm glad they don't. My first day at the track was the day after Indy and there were mounds of rubber on every corner.
  10. Would get chilly on longer trips with no windscreen. That said, I'd ride the shit out of that thing. Shifting with snow boots on might be interesting as well, assuming it even has a clutch.
  11. Seriously? Holy god I am not buying a ford trailer hauler... "how can we take the easiest piece of engine maintenance and make it a zero-sum game?"
  12. Yamaha factory demo trucks, count me in.
  13. RayRay's is on the list, it's legit.
  14. Was it sitting for a really long time? My jetta starts to misfire if I don't drive it for a month. Last time it did it it was only running on 2 cylinders, had it towed to the local krautkar shop and it started up and ran fine. Moisture got into the cylinders and caused the issue, that and the spark plugs were pretty old (those got changed out). Definitely could be your coils though.
  15. Let me guess, the reason they say providing the results of their studies violates their constitutional rights is because it would be self-incrimination.
  16. Hey I'm an expert at changing batteries, ok? I should note, I don't have a new bike, I just stumbled on the motoman thing while perusing other motorcycle-related websites at work today and figured I'd see what people here thought.
  17. So if someone were to say, buy a new bike and go out for 600 miles of twisties while staying off the interstate, things should be in good order? Essentially.
  18. I don't normally either. I'll ping the rev limiter briefly now and then when passing someone but it's not a common occurrence and not on purpose I'd rather not own new myself, however this guy's claims of adding/losing up to 10% horsepower by properly/improperly breaking in an engine makes me wonder. His website looking like it was made in 1992 doesn't lend to me believing his claims, but that's just me and my shitty designer brain judging someone from their poor taste.
  19. So it seems there are 2 camps on this topic - the "By the book, ease it in over the first 600 miles" group and then this group: http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm, which essentially says to wring the bike's neck for the first 20 miles, change the oil, then ride it as normal for the next 1180 miles (with another oil change at 600 miles) while varying RPM to properly seat rings seals/etc. Curious what views people have on this board about the subject.
