And yea I cut a hole in the new ones for my frame sliders. That was literally a 3 hour long decision...and I cried a little when I drilled the hole. But figured it was for the best.

So that guy on the COG FB group was selling these a couple months ago. I inquired about them but he already had a buyer. Fast forward 2 months he messaged me and ask if I was still interested the other guy backed out. I was buy not at the price he was asking. He was pretty desperate to sell so he agreed to $550 and he would meet me half way from Joplin, Missouri. These were off a bike that had only 3000 miles on it and had been wrapped up and in storage for 7 years. When he bought his bike the color wasn't loud enough for him so he bought another set and had them painted Kawi Green then he did the swap. Now he's moving and needed to clear out some storage space. This set was complete with every color piece on the bike. Including the tank, bag lids, mirrors and all the trim. Took my time doing the swap stripped her down nekid and cleaned everything on the frame and underneath. Each piece got new wellnuts and Teflon washers and 3 coats of wax before installing. Did a little tidying of things under the fairings and some maintenance while she was apart too.

We 2up some but not touring. Maybe 200 miles is her limit on the back. And that's only if her bike isn't available to ride. So a dedicated 2up bike for us isn't nessesary.

I honestly never seen that post. But yea that would have been the closest guess. Still not a "new connie" though...lol

Meet Candy! She's perfect! With the exception that I was never a fan of the Nutron Silver she has always been perfect. There isn't any other bikes out there that I would trade her for at this time. A very rare opportunity to do a complete color swap came up with the color that has always caught my eye(Candy Diamond Red )I jumped on it. And it was a bargin! Sorry if y'all thought I got a new ride but if you go back to all my post not once did I say I was buying a new bike. Just said I was ready for a big change. Then I just trolled all y'alls imaginations. ...here are the pic of the completed job I'll cover the transformation in another post..Can't wait to see her out in the sun where the pearl in the paint will shine....

Okay big the big reaveal in the next post. But first I wanted to say you all know pretty well with one huge exception. The two bikes on my radar are the new Wing and the Indian Challenger. If me and the Mrs. 2up more often the Wing would be the clear winner. But ass you all know she has her own ride and is riding more and more now that she has that Scout. She loves that damn thing. If the Connie had to be replaced with a different bike the wing would edge out the Inidan. If the Connie was staying in the stable the Inidan would be the winner to complement the Connie. The wing and Connie would be too close to the same machine's to have both in my personal opinion. So the where some of you may have faltered in your thoughts when it comes to what I had going down is my love of the Connie. I STILL ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT FUCKING BIKE! That might even be a bit of a understatement. Been all over the country with her and so many experiences and so much more I still want to do on her. So with what I said above, did I go with the Inidan Challenger or did I go down another road?..............

Tapping the rear brake works better for that. Mine will rev a extra 1000 rpm before the cruise disengages if I pull the clutch.
-
Well yea, there is that.

Thought about getting a second camera but decided I don't want to get that vested into it. I did spend $40 to upgrade the RAM in my laptop to help it posses videos smoother. I took some footage on our last ride but lost the damn card somewhere. If I find it ill get another one posted soon.

Clutches are for stopping only.

Jimmy rigged soda bottle homemade supressor on an high power air rifle is pretty quiet. Takes it down to about the sound of a bb gun. There are a few videos about it on the tubes.

The fun part about touring bikes is the looks or comments you get from people that are shocked that that our bike are so capable of what we make them do. One pass I made last year with the wife on the back I follow a kat through going decent pace. Pull in to the store to complement him on the riding abilities and the flawless run we had. He was shocked that I was on a couch with a passenger and (these were his words) "you were able to keep up with me at that blistering pace" . I didn't think it was "blistering" but it was spirited. Then again my rear tire apparently thought it was blistering.

Oh yea and she has a name. First bike I have officially given a name to.... Candy

One 700 mile pick up trip to that shit state. Two solid days of wrenching in the garage and she's about ready to be unveiled.... Fyi..Noone has guessed correctly yet. But I have never been more satisfied in a bike ever. She's perfect.
