  1. Im no Aaron Yates but my skills are more than efficient for my style of riding. I don't need to push the envelope when I'm out sight seeing, but when I do get on it occasionally I surprise most. A track day might be fun but for the trouble and expense of prepping the bike buying the correct PPE and everything involved I'd rather just hit the road on my own terms.
  2. I never said it couldn't be fun just said it wasn't adventurous by my definition. And yes I know it's not a perfect circle. Adventure by my definition is seeing different sights and landscapes around every corner, meeting the different people and cultures. Cycling to me isn't about how fast I can get our homing my skills, its about exploring and seeing different things and maybe how far I can get. I each their own but I know it's not for me. When I set out on a ride the first thing that goes through my mind is "where haven't I been".
  3. I ride for the adventure and riding in a circle all day is not adventurous.

  9. This section of road is a must, but you almost must take it in both directions in order not miss anything. http://goo.gl/maps/HVDPl
  10. Its still on the burner, i'm still doing the gap trip and i need to see how vacation days pan out. I would have to take 3 one days for the thursday-sunday gap trip, then burn a weeks vacation for the following week and a extra one day for the Monday you guys return. Or take two weeks and a burn my floating birthday holiday for the Monday. PLus we still have a maybe Myrtle beach trip planned with the kids the 5 days before the gap trip....OH BOY!!!!
  11. Also looking at your maps i noticed you haven't included iron mountian rd (16A) in either day. That was one of my favorites out there. That's were the pig tail bridges and all the rushmore view points with tunnels are.
  12. Better count post not pages, would depend on how you have your settings on how many post per page
  13. I've actually already had this problem and that's what I did just cut the wires and ran a splice outside the harness. Wasn't really that big of a deal other than I did it on a 5deg day outside. Other problems that are common that you may come across are if you car wont shift out of park there is a wire in console that is known to break or come loose on the shift interlock. And if you ever hear a thumping coming from you dash or if you cold/hot on you heater quits working there are little actuator motors that go bad, iv replaced 2 already. One more thing is you ever keep getting the message that your gas cap is loose there is a solenoid canister back by the gas fill neck that gets gummed up with dirt and crud(easiest just to replace the whole thing). These thing are all fairly in expensive to replace your self(if you buy online, I use amazon mostly) but things like the accuators on the heater are a pain to get to but not impossible. We now have almost 120, 000 miles on ours and other than these few things it has been trouble free(never been in the shop ), the wife puts about 130-140 miles a day on it.

  16. I'm a firm believer in never financing toys. If I can't afford to pay cash for it I don't need it. Maybe with bad credit buying a bike isn't the best idea financially. But I don't know what you situation was to get bad credit either.(nor is it any of my business)
