I go to maybe one QS&L bike night a year. And that one time a year serves as a reminder as to...Why I don't go to bike nights. Love looking at the bikes but I usually leave pissed off at all the drinking and riding and the persona that it's better to "look bad ass" than have any kind of common sense on a motorcycle when it comes to equipment and gear.

I guess I didn't think about this either. It takes a little more effort to get a 750lb ST bike to turn in than it does a 400lb sporty. I did notice I didn't trail brake on the Z as much as I do the connie.

I never wanted linked brakes on the C14 because the 2010-2014 models sucked and was way too heavy to the rears. But Ive heard the 15 and ups have been ironed out. The 08-09 arent linked(mine is a 08)

+1 on this too. If said person is just rolling through a corner and hits the brakes it will upset it more vs already being loaded via trail braking.

The Azn kid is right. Just don't ask him to do math. I trail brake all the time right up to the apex. Not saying abrupt braking in addition to that wont stand the bike up a little, but usually human instinct and or combined with target fixation will stand it up more.

The story was "If" your gas engine burns an excessive amount of oil. The additives they put in the old T6 formula could clog your Cat and or leave deposits on your O2 sensors. They have since then changed the formula and is now API SM rated. I even read where they are working on changing it again to make it API SN rated. But most fear that would make them increase the price due to needing extra refinement.

Your sig line says it all. "Creature of habit" I can't even tell you when I change it in my cars. I go by the % meter on the dash when it gets below 10% I buy oil when I goes below 5% I change it.

Nothing but respect for those guys. That's usually a entry level crew in the Construction world too. Those guys aren't even making the big bucks yet.

Two of the worst jobs I ever had were. #1 worst: Dead Chicken Picker: Walk around the nasty chicken houses in Croton picking up dead birds all day. That was it that all the job was. I did it for one week and said "fuck this place". #2 Material Handler for the pottery. Spend all day long in a shop that is already 120 plus degrees wearing a heat resistant apron and sleeves. Walk into a kiln(that still way too hot to stand) pick up a 60lb-80lb piece still in the mold carry it 50 ft and set it on a pallet or conveyor. Did that for a month (4 weeks and 1 day) Cleaning pig barns and stacking bales on a wagon in 90 deg heat was fun too but I did those for several summer when a young teen.

I'll agree there MANY MANY worse jobs than that. Growing up a in farming community and doing various industrial job through the years. Pushing carts in a parking lot really isn't that big of a deal. I could make a list but yea there are many.

Connie calls for 7500 intervals with dino oil thats what i go by but i use synthetic. The wifes Inidan calls for 10,000 with synthetic. Think ill stick to the connies scedule on it and do it at 7500 too. I'd do filter every time.

So as frequently as you buy and sell bikes i'm going to get this out of the way.... LBTS GLWS

I think any of the newer name brand ones are about on the same level playing field. With that being said keep an eye out on sites like ADV rider. Sometime you can find them cheap. I picked up my Garmin zumo 590 for less than half price of a new one on there. A guy bought it and used it on one trip then sold it. I do like my Garmin because it has the smart link to my phone and bluetooth and also has a remote app for my garmin VIRB action cam.

Year and a half and 17k+ miles in mine and still 100% happy! SRL still going strong.
