i guess i knew they had multiple plants ..just you would think that if you buy a pair of tires they would be made fairly close to each other
-
:confused:I had my new tires mounted today, and when i was bolting the wheels back on the bike i noticed the front tire is made in Spain and the rear tire was made in Thailand..they are Michelin Pilot Road 1's that i bought at I.P.together.... I quess is not a big deal or anything just wondered if this was common:confused:

ok the tire is off and hanging in my shed..let me know if anyine wants it

ah damn you are about the 5th different group I know going this month, hopefully if all goes as planned I'm going down there in June for the first time
What dates are you going down in june?..I've got the 11th to the19 th off with no real plans yet
-
I know there was a couple threads with people saying they were headed down in the month of may so i'm starting this one to let us post our dates, hotels, and bikes so maybe if we cross paths we can say "Howdy" to each other
Me and my wife will be headed down Satuday 14th and staying till the 20th..we are staying at Whyndham Resort in Seviervill/Pideon Forge(they gave me a hell of a deal on my points) We are trailering our rigs down, Mine is a Red 97 TL1000S with personal plate (97 TL), and hers is a 93 Shadow VLX (bright ass) Yellow personal plate (ROO). We are planing on riding as much as we can maybe head to the gap at least 2 days, cherokee, Wheels Through Time, Sky Way, Blue Ridge Pky, Smokie Park a couple times, if we arent on the scooters we will be driving a red chvy impala.
Hopefully the weather holds off, right now they are saying rain for that week but untill we are less than 4 or 5 days out i dont believe the forcast much. So if your down there and see us stop and say "What Up Tim and Becky"

Going to mount my new tires here in a day or two the rear is pretty much toast but the front still has maybe 40-50% tread left with some slight cupping ill give it away to anyone that wants to come to my hood to pick it up. I like to keep a match pair on my bike and im never planning on buying the powers ever again, so i have no need for it, ill hold onto it for a couple weeks then it goes to the burn pile(for the eco freindly types just pretend im going to recycle it)...i live outside fredericktown in knox county if anyone is interested..it is a Power 2CT

I use Mobil1 or Amsoil.. depending on my mood.
you forgot to tell us about your tires:D

I love my AFX FX-90...it's hi quality with out the high price..only problem i have with it is at hiway speeds and the vents open all the way it whistles slightly

The 97 TLS is a bike of it's own personality...you love it or hate it there is no in between...with the stock ECU it takes some getting used to but i love it..if i ever had to get another sport bike it would probobly be a sv1k, but the only reason i would need one is if somthing happends to the ol' TiLliS

My buddy and I got our plans locked down and are going 5/21-5/24. We are going to stay in Alcoa, TN. Has anyone been to the Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum in Maggie Valley, NC?
WTT is awsome be prepared to spend half a day if you want to truley enjoy this place...feel free to ask any questions to the folks there, they love to share their passion with you..we ask them "where do they work on the bikes" and they guy said " you want to see that shop" and gave up a tour of the back and showed us all the projects they are working on...we are headed down next Sat...here is the site if you didnt already have it http://www.wheelsthroughtime.com/

Yeah...that creamy white shit slings like it was shot from Peter North. The last time I replaced my chain I thought I got all of it off, and was wrong. I used Goo Gone and was cleaned up shortly, and with a pleasant citrus smell!
never thought of that stuff...oh well it's water under the bridge now

yes..because i wore out the powers in less than a year (in the center) because of the road/hiway miles i put on it..i was going to go with road 2ct's but i got such a good deal on the road 1's( $200 ish for the pair)i could not pass it up... i dont hit the twisties hard engough to get even close to the potential the powers have
