Just looked it up and yea 151 or devils drop is the Pisgah Hwy, I was just on that last month. It was pretty rough and narrow. It was okay up hill but down hill was a nightmare as rough as it was with all the loose gravel and having to ride your brakes.
-
I've taken all these routes before just trying to remember which ones are which. yea I'm for sure going to tweak this part of the trip when I make up my mind.

So my wife and I have lost a lot of weight and today she does facebook post about her\our progress. As one would expect there was a lot of comments telling her "congrats" and some that say "i wish I could loose some weight" So i was just scrolling though FB and noticed at least 2 of these people aying they wish they could loose weight are liking and or sharing pictures or videos with very fatty high carb\calorie recipes. One of them saying they were going to make one of these for dinner tis week. I just don't understand people that don't want to help themselves. Obviously posting this here to save them from getting butt hurt on FB.

Forgot about this thread. Wife has had her 2014 Impala LTZ2 for over a year now and we love it. And we still have the 2007 has over 200,000 miles on it now.
-
Had a similar route like that once but wanted to hit the highest point of brp sign, now that i looking at it we can do this route and do a down and back to that point.
-
I'll check it out. But leaf watching was kind of the idea of taking BRP myslef. But might cut some of it out.

This funny because it is all true

I'm guilty of this but would step up if it was absolutely needed to. I hate being the leader but usually end up being one on long planned out trips so when weekend local loop rides are posted I'd rather just follow for a change of pace. When cluster fucks like yesterday arise and I can't jump in a smaller group like yours Jim I probably would have said "I'm going my own way and you can follow if you want". Ive done this before down at deals gap and it's usually works out where I'll get one or two guys that are like minded or very adaptive to what I want to do. Only thing I ask is if you jump in a group i'm leading come with low expectations, my routes arent always the best because I like to explore and sometime find less than desirable roads. But sometimes i will suprise you with my choices.

Reliability results vary with those, usually not good. I'll stick with good old faithful AGM

I wouldn't call that beating a Connie. I checked up because I was concerned about our track riding friend when he disappeared. He must have been in the pits. 400ish miles for me too I have no idea I didn't look. Thanks for leading a nice pace Jim.

The jacket liner and gloves are what I have now too. The Connie putsout more than enough heat for the lower regions. I'm used to deer year round living where I do. My head is always on a swivel.

Been thay way since the last update.

I ran a heated vest last year for a couple mornings. I too have gerbing stuff now that I have yet to use.

Welcome to the mad house , and NO you can't date my daughter. Motorcycle riders are trouble makers and I won't have it. She's too old for you anyway

536 screws with my head. The hill pops and blind corners then you hit a cobble stone river that flows across the road and it screws with my mojo even more. It's a beautiful road and if I could memorize it I'd love it, but don't get down there that much. Ask @LINK half way through it I was really off my game especially after the second gavel wash.

Id trade you a 2007 Honda Recon 250 four wheeler.

Been working a lot this week(at work and home) I'll start working on the routes and hotels this weekend. So if y'all have any request throw them out in the next couple of days.

Guess I didn't realize this.... Cherohala Skyway - The road gets its name from the Nation Forest it climbs through - in NC it's the Nantahala Forest, in TN it's the Cherokee Forest. Combining the two names resulted in "Cherohala". Because the road climbs to and follows along the highest ridges it's a bonafide skyway with views that stretch for 50 miles. Now you know.
