  1. You just want a light coat of oil. A heavy coat of oil can get on the MAF wire and give false/ bad readings.
  2. Now your peaking my interest. I've got an 04 Silverado with the 5.3. Air intake and exhaust. I might have give you a shout come spring.
  3. Subscribed. Just so I don't forget. But a maybe.
  4. Same designer, and engineer. Different G/C's and project managers. Same building owner. All union contractors. Foul play, I don't think would even enter into my mind. I have some plumber buddies that were on that deck the day before putting in sleeves for piping. They have said that there was the obvious rush, but not to the point of putting in stuff half a$$ed. But a push nonetheless. Rain has been stressing the schedules down there. -Might be a design flaw in steel sizing? -If there was bare ground underneath with piers and the beams were mounted to the piers. Did they sink in the ground when the weight was applied (concrete), by not getting a good ground compaction test? -Could the rivets been sized incorrectly for the shear strength that was going to be applied? Or bad rivets? I'm sure a metallurgist will be involved, I've seen them in cases where this has happened.
  5. http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/car-company-us-loan-builds-cars-finland/story?id=14770875 Car Company Gets U.S. Loan, Builds Cars In Finland With the approval of the Obama administration, an electric car company that received a $529 million federal government loan guarantee is assembling its first line of cars in Finland, saying it could not find a facility in the United States capable of doing the work. Vice President Joseph Biden heralded the Energy Department's $529 million loan to the start-up electric car company called Fisker as a bright new path to thousands of American manufacturing jobs. But two years after the loan was announced, the company's manufacturing jobs are still limited to the assembly of the flashy electric Fisker Karma sports car in Finland. "There was no contract manufacturer in the U.S. that could actually produce our vehicle," the car company's founder and namesake told ABC News. "They don't exist here." Henrik Fisker said the U.S. money has been spent on engineering and design work that stayed in the U.S., not on the 500 manufacturing jobs that went to a rural Finnish firm, Valmet Automotive. "We're not in the business of failing; we're in the business of winning. So we make the right decision for the business," Fisker said. "That's why we went to Finland." The loan to Fisker is part of a $1 billion bet the Energy Department has made in two politically connected California-based electric carmakers producing sporty -- and pricey -- cutting-edge autos. Fisker Automotive, backed by a powerhouse venture capital firm whose partners include former Vice President Al Gore, predicts it will eventually be churning out tens of thousands of electric sports sedans at the shuttered GM factory it bought in Delaware. And Tesla Motors, whose prime backers include PayPal mogul Elon Musk and Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, says it will do the same in a massive facility tooling up in Silicon Valley. An investigation by ABC News and the Center for Public Integrity's iWatch News found that the DOE's bet carries risks for taxpayers, has raised concern among industry observers and government auditors, and adds to questions about the way billions of dollars in loans for smart cars and green energy companies have been awarded. Fisker is more than a year behind rolling out its $97,000 luxury vehicle bankrolled in part with DOE money. While more are promised soon, just 40 of its Karma cars (below) have been manufactured and only two delivered to customers' driveways, including one to movie star Leonardo DiCaprio. Tesla's SEC filings reveal the start-up has lost money every quarter. And while its federal funding is intended to help it mass produce a new $57,400 Model S sedan, the company has no experience in a project so vast.
  6. There is my clutch cover. I think it was from Pirate racing on TLP 4-5 years ago. I'll have to get back on there. I put the Barnett's clutch springs in and was going to do it all at the same time, but Van was too long before production started.
  7. Nice. I was going to get in on that, but honestly forgot completely about it. Damn. I do have the clear clutch cover, probably had it for 4-5 years now.
  8. Just checked at the usual hotel I've stayed at for the last 4 years, and its already booked. Also, has a waiting list long enough where they quit taking names. Close to downtown.
  9. I would say being around a gas station. Seeing people drive around the gas station waiting for the pump to open up before it jumps $.35 like they are being chased by the police.
  10. Let me do some checking and see if I can find anyone interested. Are you headed south any time soon?
  11. Fava beans and a nice chianti
  12. Didn't Tiger bulldoze a house too? IIRC it was back in like 2008 or so, in Florida. http://www.theage.com.au/news/golf/tiger-bulldozes-to-build-mega-home/2007/11/21/1195321866440.html This is the only thing I found. Tom Leonard, New York November 22, 2007 TWO years after buying a $A53.7 million Florida waterfront estate, Tiger Woods has bulldozed virtually everything to make way for an executive "mega home". Woods, the world's highest-earning sportsman, snapped up 10 immaculately appointed acres of what Forbes magazine has dubbed the "world's most expensive zip code" and ripped it all up so he could start again.
  13. That's it. Delta. Just didn't ring a bell when I was thinking of it. I saw the Woodbury thread, never heard of it, and after that, never will. I'll send 8mm a PM.
  14. I haven't had much time to scan the gun threads, but I recall a gun shop that everyone was recommending to get guns from. I was wanting to get a price check on a couple of items. IIRC wasn't it around the Dayton area?
  15. I would recommend it. It's something like 10 bucks to get in, and free parking on the facilities if you get in early enough. Bring a cooler, a little propane grill and go tailgate at the truck during the breaks between shoots. They are very strict on alcohol there. They shoot 3-4 times during the day and once at night. The night shoot is obviously the big attraction. I've shot full auto AR-15, AK47, and a MP5, but being around some of the equipment the guys had down there is mind boggling.
  16. LB Super Varmint AR-15 Rem 870 12 ga (I'd like to get the marine SS version) Glock 23 .40 (or put the 9mm barrel in and use the 30 rd mag)
  17. The guys with the mini-guns had pallets of ammo sitting behind them. They had 3 or 4 day shoots where they shot the mini-gun. On session they let it go for at least a minute as they were trying to cut a ice cream truck in half. When the lights went out, it was a free for all. Just aim at the road flares, and behind them was a 55 gal drum of Tannerite. I was about 100 or so yards away and you could feel the heat and concussion from the blast.
  18. Don't forget her teeth. I think she's had some work done, but before it looked like she could gnaw through high tension cable.
  19. There was 3-4 mini-guns shooting at Knob Creek this past October. Of all the guns there, the mini-gun was the one that got the crowd going crazy, especially for the night shoot. There was a mini-gun for sale at Knob Creek for $150,000 IIRC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOJb_gVcxXY This was from that night shoot in October. Bad@ss with tracer rounds. You can find a few other vids from the miniguns being there. I would suggest adding Knob Creek to the bucket list, it was amazing.
  20. Browning BT-99 Trap Gun Grade III Adjustable Comb 12 ga. 32" barrel. I'd be happy if that were under the ol' Christmas tree.
  21. Hussein Obama will probably just write a stern letter asking if we can have it back.
