  1. Well the other nice thing about these is the barrel comes off real easy and can be refitted with aftermarket stuff. This gun is just a decent starting point.
  2. .30-06 has a lot of drop at 1000 yards, more so than some other calibers. I just picked it because there is surplus ammo out there and a friend of mine gave me 5 coffee cans full of nice once fired brass for it. If your just looking to shoot long range, probably a .243 or 6mm would be better. .30-06 does alot of things well, rather than just one thing really good. For hunting, even at long range your unlikely to find anything in the United States or Canada that you cant kill with it.
  3. Its actually cheaper to get started with the Stevens version of the gun. I bought a Savage .30-06 package gun for myself, and the same gun in a Stevens is about 50 bucks less. I sold a buddy one for like $300 new, and it is the exact same gun. The only thing different is the name stamped on the barrel.
  4. Well the trick to getting it cheaper than whats advertised on line is to buy ALOT. Not like buying 8 cases, but buying 100 or so cases. So if we can get guys to commit, I can go direct to the manufacturer and get a price.
  5. So why don't you fill us all in on how and who is not going to let it collapse? Is the Government going to suddenly find a pot... scratch that, a continent full of gold to solve our current debt problem? Right before it collapses, is China going to say "Oh the US is too big to fail, lets give them 15 more trillion dollars"! Or better yet, is God going to suddenly appear from the clouds, right before the car goes off the cliff and wave his hands and say "The US can not fail! Its the US! No giant nation has ever failed in world history!" Oh no I got it, the exponentially increasing dependent segment of our population is going to suddenly see the light and not vote themselves bigger hand outs. I was all wrong, I take it all back. that last one must be it.
  6. So your saying that the federal government has plenty of extra cash to bail out states like California and New York? I personally don't care if you believe it or not. My sales don't change that much, I sell toys and my customers shop here because of that. Personally I'd be more concerned with having extra's like food than the fanciest AR15 on the block when there is none to be bought. And to be quite honest, the less people with their heads in the sand about all this there are, the less people will show up at my door step begging when it eventually does happen.
  7. My guess is a collapse of the states in the worst shape, like California, Michigan and New York. Then the other states will collapse one by one after wards. Once every state has declared bankruptcy, and there are no more federal dollars to print/borrow/steal things will really blow up. Services will slowly trickle to a halt, then the savages will riot and things will get ugly in big cities like Detroit, LA, New York....
  8. Well the last skid I bought was about 1/4 full and it was 10,000 rounds. It all depends on the ammo. But if people want to go in and buy a giant amount, its quite a bit cheaper.
  9. I sell pretty much every brand AR there is and I try to steer people these days towards LMT. The quality is pretty much top of the game and the price is not that much more than you would pay for RRA or Stag. If your looking for a military style rifle my opinion is dollar for dollar you cant beat LMT, and there service is awesome. I order a gun on Monday, it shows up the following week. Now if you want something more hunting oriented, or different caliber I use RRA. They have a better choice as far as uppers go, but they take almost 2 months to get anything from them because they only build guns on demand. Right now the line is about 6 weeks long. I think that Spikes are good lowers, some of the cheaper brand lowers are cheap because of cut corners.
  10. Well depends on what everyone wanted to get. If a dozen or so people wanted 9mm or 45acp or 308 or 416 rigby... Whatever guys might want to get alot of before the increase. Doesnt matter to me, there is almost no mark up on ammo anyways, I dont mind passing a deal on.
  11. I take it he has the paperwork on the gun? The market is a little weak right now, but if he wants to get rid of it Knob Creek is this weekend and Ill be going. I could help him broker a sale for a finders fee.
  12. If you guys wanna do some kind of group ammo buy, I can order a skid.
  13. I still think we are ways away from breaking the laws of thermodynamics.
  14. As Flounder said, any time I have a gun "missing" because of shipping I say the magic letters.. A T F. They find shit FAST when you ask customer service who to tell the ATF to ask for when they call.
  15. Ive got a couple of Blem stag lowers coming for 95.

The process is not hard but as said, you must be actively engaged in the firearms business or they will nail you. You do have to make sure your business location is zoned for it, and that you have dealers insurance.
  17. I actually dont have a can for this gun. I was going to order one for it in the group buy but got an Aimpoint instead.
  18. You are not dumb asking questions! Dumb is not asking questions and ordering something that is really expensive that you cant use. For the LLC question, you can put it on your LLC. Many people advise not putting it on an LLC that is an actual business because it becomes a company asset. This _could_ be a problem if the company gets sued and people start digging into your assets. Is it your LLC? You will need to get another barrel. Gemtech sells barrels for $150 dollars for pretty much every gun. I will IM you the price of the can.
  19. The transfer tax is a one time fee. There is a way around the law signoff, and that is by putting the item in a trust or LLC. These types of legal entities can own property, and eliminate the need for passport photos, fingerprint cards and law sign off.
  20. You contact the chief law enforcement officer where you live. It can be the Sheriff.
  21. Sounds good. Ill be at the store most of the day tomorrow.
  22. I sent this to a couple people who had questions, here is a generalized "how do you buy a suppressor" guide. Coincidentally it is the same for doing a machine gun also. Step 1. Find the suppressor you want and buy it. Step 2. The dealer you buy the suppressor from will fill out an ATF form 4 in duplicate which is the Application for tax paid transfer and registration of an NFA item. Step 3. You will take this form to your chief of police where you live and he must sign and date both copies, which tells the ATF he trusts you to have an NFA item. Step 4. You must attach 1 passport photo to each Form 4. Step 5. You must have 2 sets of ATF finger print cards completed, which can probably be done at the police station when the chief signs off your letter. Step 6. Write a check to the BATFE for $200, then put everything in a large envelope. Step 7. Mail the letter to: Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives National Firearms Act Branch P.O. Box 530298 Atlanta, GA 30353-0298 Step 8. Wait, and wait, and wait some more. Step 9. When the dealer gets the form 4 back in the mail, he will call you to come pick up your suppressor. There are 3 big "rules' to owning NFA items. First, The item must ALWAYS be in your possession. When you don't have it on you, it must be locked somewhere secure where only you have access. You can never loan these items to anyone for any reason, however they may be used by others as long as you are present. Second, Make ALOT of copies of your returned form 4. Lock up the original and put copies everywhere. Keep them with the gun, put them in your car. Put them in your gun case, put them in your desk at work. You never want to be without a copy when you have the suppressor out and about. Alot of cops still do not know about the NFA act and the form 4 keeps you out of trouble. Third, Suppressors are not legal in every state. Michigan being one of them. So dont ever take it out of the state without first getting the proper information about what you must do to take it into another state (and if you are allowed too). I hope you guys find this helpful.
  23. They have to be registered with the ATF, but you do not need a license to own them.
