I'm in if I can get my bike together. I've never done a day with NESBA, just Motoseries and STT. Is it any different? Should I be any differently prepared? I'll just be in for Saturday and I usually run Intermediate unless there's a very good reason not to.
I only rode with moto Series once. I mostly ride with NESBA. NESBA take a deeper look at the bike and you have to tech all of your gear (boots, gloves, helmet, leathers and back protector if not novice). They have a member guide on their website.

Never rode with STT.
No big deal. I was going to sign up in novice anyway. I've never been to Beaver but it will be my 5th track day overall. I'll probably be rolling solo so it would be cool to meet up with some people from the forum. Is anyone besides me and rslocum riding B group?
The track is only about 30 minutes away for me, so I think I might come over and watch you guys if the weather holds out. Which day would be best for a spectator?Riders look pretty balanced right now. The track is good for viewing with the pits on a hill overlooking the track. This allows you to see more of the track and is better than other tracks I have been to.

What suit do you have as a few come with a CE protector in them. My Hein Gericke has a full CE certified protector in it. I also really hope you are still in the novice group as a back protector is needed for the other groups.
That being said I would use one of the following.

Yes I am in the novice group. I have a Cortech Latigo 1 peice, definitely not a CE back pad.
I see the ones you sent are much wider than the one I am considering. Is that something you recommend? Also they are all articulated. I imagine that provides more comfort and flexibility. Why else to you recommend them? Is the AXO no good?

I've done a few track days using the suits back protector. Now I am looking to buy a CE protector.
What should I look for in features?
How long and wide should it be?
I found this one on closeout, is it worth the money?
Any advice and experiences are appreciated.

I've booked both days and will be there with my family. Look me up, I'll be the guy with the BEAUTIFUL black and gold utility trailer! (Can't miss it) and a black R6. If all goes as planned I will be parked between Redkow and Wheeler:stirpot:
Look like it will be HOT!

Doh!
Where were 4 months ago? This is exactly what I was looking for, right size, right color.
Bought a suit already.

Frogg Toggs.... that is all
Raingear is the only waterproof that I have found. I don't like the Frogg Toggs due to the color selections. Unless they have changed they only offer muted color tones because they started as outdoor gear and made a crossover to motorcycling. When I rains the road spray grays everything out and that is bad for our safety.
I ride in the rain a lot and will only go with yellow or orange even if it costs a bit more.

^^^^Me too.
It takes me longer to buckle my helmet than to run the two full length zippers. I work in an office also so helmet hair is more of am issue than the pants making me look unprofessional.

Low cost solution:
1-hammer
1-block of wood
1-small gasket punch
+1-million hours of time
1 perforated suit

Every time I throw a leg over my bike I gear up first! Boots, gloves, helmet and armored pants. Like a lot of people are stating "mesh is your friend" in hot weather. To save on multiple jackets and pants I purchased what I call "convertible" mesh gear. Gear that has zip off panels that expose large mesh areas.
I'm running with a Joe Rocket Alter Ego jacket and Fieldsheer overpants (love them both). Here in Cincy they go as cold as I want to commute in and up to 90 degrees. Other manufacturers offer similar options.
Perferated leather will offer superior protection but does not flow nearly as well. I've gotten uncomfortable in my fully perferated leather jacket (upper 80's).
Due your research and choose something you like and fits!

Welcome to the group! Smart move taking a safety course, it can be nuts out the and every bit of knowledge helps.

Welcome to the group and thank-you for your service.

That's funny. He must be from another planet.
I believe that Fastenal stores are independently owned. I've been to some that stock lots of stuff and others that did not. This would explain the "Metric" stock issue.
McMaster Carr is great but I prefer Fastenal and Grainger since they are everywhere.

Seems as though when you search for a particular model of bike on CycleTrader.com, every single bike that Racer's Edge has comes up in your search.
Evidently they tag each of their bikes with the model and engine size of every single bike ever made.
Rather annoys the shit out of me.
When I become POTUS, this will not be allowed.
I have no <actual> experience with the shop, just what I've encountered online.
Ditto that!
And they they do not pull down bikes when they sell...
And I've never been able to reach them on the phone...
And most of their bikes seem to be price well until you realize that it has a salvage title.

Got an email from Todd today. He treated me right and I'm a happy Moto Series customer.
When someone treats me right I try to return the favor so now I have to decide what Moto Series events I will be attending this summmer!

Nasty video, I can't believe they showed it on GMA.
If the wife sees this my commuting days are over, and my bike will be for sale.

Did anyone else see the video of a motorcyclist getting rear ended on Good Morning America today?
Dude got thrown over the front end and into the trunk of the car ahead of him. How he did not get smashed between the cars is a mystery! This all happened on the highway and looked nasty! If my wife sees this video my bikes will have for sale signs before the week is out.
Haven't had time to find the video and post it here. (help please)

The issue is the standing water wouldn't have been there had the drainage system not been clogged. It took them almost 3 hours to pump the water away from the track.. in one spot. That's completely unacceptable.
Shitty weather? Sure' date=' I'll accept that gamble. Shitty track preparedness? Nope.
It's not Motoseries' fault, but we didn't give our money to NL. We gave it to Todd. I'm sure he'll do the right thing. I hear he's a fairly stand-up guy.[/quote']
^^^^Agreed!
I also agree with Redkow's logic concerning track readiness is the resposibility of NL not Todd and how the contracts work...
...and Brian's comment about much of the same.
HOWEVER, The track preparedness (drainage) needs to be improved and/ or maintained by NL. If Todd does not exert pressure (via contracts and reimbursements) on NL to improve the situation it may not get fixed. If we do not exert pressure to Todd (via credits) will he pursue the issue??? Its a chain reaction and the consumers are the source.
FURTHERMORE, I probably would have walked away at the end of the day and just wrote the situation off but Todd's comment about keeping the track open late so that we could run late pissed me off.
Todd has no control over keeping the track employees or EMTs late. These are set contracts (9-5 or whatever) controlled by the track. (Brian, correct me if I am wrong)
I view Todd's statement as an attempt to quite the masses knowing that he could not deliver. It seemed to work since I was the only one that stuck around after the event to discuss the drainage issue with him and the possibility of credits.
I'm not very fired up about losing track time but I am big on honesty and integrity. If Todd does me right with a % of credits he wins my respect and I'll be back to use them and be a repeat customer in the future.
If not...

Is there room to wrap your headers?
You could wrap them in heat tape (fiberglass) if there is.
-
I do know that because we were cut short for weather we missed out on a lot. pretty much a half day. Still had a blast. So I imagine a whole day in the sun would be amazing!
You could talk to Todd about getting credit toward another day, I did. The weather (rain) is not what closed the track, it was the plugged up irrigation pipe. We rode in the heaviest rain and sat when the weather cleared.

I guess I had an upgrade, I didn't have to go outside to adjust the antenea we had rabbit ear on top of the TV. I spent hours touching one of the antenea so the channel would come in properly!
Oh yeah, had a rotary dial phone!

Since I'm riding Saturday and attendance will be low (VIR) I'll park like I'm from Parma to claim some extra space. Look for me on the track side of the paddock. Black R6 #28.
