    squid?

Every time I throw a leg over my bike I gear up first! Boots, gloves, helmet and armored pants. Like a lot of people are stating "mesh is your friend" in hot weather. To save on multiple jackets and pants I purchased what I call "convertible" mesh gear. Gear that has zip off panels that expose large mesh areas. I'm running with a Joe Rocket Alter Ego jacket and Fieldsheer overpants (love them both). Here in Cincy they go as cold as I want to commute in and up to 90 degrees. Other manufacturers offer similar options. Perferated leather will offer superior protection but does not flow nearly as well. I've gotten uncomfortable in my fully perferated leather jacket (upper 80's). Due your research and choose something you like and fits!
  3. Welcome to the group! Smart move taking a safety course, it can be nuts out the and every bit of knowledge helps.
  4. Welcome to the group and thank-you for your service.
  5. I believe that Fastenal stores are independently owned. I've been to some that stock lots of stuff and others that did not. This would explain the "Metric" stock issue. McMaster Carr is great but I prefer Fastenal and Grainger since they are everywhere.
  6. Ditto that! And they they do not pull down bikes when they sell... And I've never been able to reach them on the phone... And most of their bikes seem to be price well until you realize that it has a salvage title.
  7. Got an email from Todd today. He treated me right and I'm a happy Moto Series customer. When someone treats me right I try to return the favor so now I have to decide what Moto Series events I will be attending this summmer!
  8. Nasty video, I can't believe they showed it on GMA. If the wife sees this my commuting days are over, and my bike will be for sale.

  10. Did anyone else see the video of a motorcyclist getting rear ended on Good Morning America today? Dude got thrown over the front end and into the trunk of the car ahead of him. How he did not get smashed between the cars is a mystery! This all happened on the highway and looked nasty! If my wife sees this video my bikes will have for sale signs before the week is out. Haven't had time to find the video and post it here. (help please)
  11. Is there room to wrap your headers? You could wrap them in heat tape (fiberglass) if there is.
  12. You could talk to Todd about getting credit toward another day, I did. The weather (rain) is not what closed the track, it was the plugged up irrigation pipe. We rode in the heaviest rain and sat when the weather cleared.
  13. I guess I had an upgrade, I didn't have to go outside to adjust the antenea we had rabbit ear on top of the TV. I spent hours touching one of the antenea so the channel would come in properly! Oh yeah, had a rotary dial phone!
  14. What brand fender eliminater do you have? Wondering if I should expect the same to happen to me. (Not that I'm willing to go back to that stock monstrousity)
  15. It was great meeting eveyone on Saturday, nice to connect screen names to names to faces. Special thanks to everyone that gave me throttle blipping advice and to my group leader Craig. Xtra Special Thanks to Jbot for getting us the discount pricing!!! Hope to see everyone at the track again this summer whether is be Putnam, Beaver or Nelson.
  16. My R6 has one fuse that runs the headlight and tail light, its mush easier than disconnecting or pulling bulbs. Your CBR may be the same it is worth looking into!
  17. 20,20,24 hours to go... I'm so excited I do need to be sedated!
  18. If you find your way down again give me a shout. I love these roads!

  22. Overtime laws were originally set by the Federal Government by the Fair Labor and Standards Act of 1938. State governments and other companies follow this legislation.
