  1. Ok I've noticed some misinformation in this threads. 1. A CPO car goes through a detailed inspection at the dealership. 2. A Subaru trained tech goes over the car and see what needs attention. 3. If it is a broken part, Subaru warranty covers it. 4. IF IT IS A MAINTENANCE ISSUE THE DEALER PAYS FOR IT 5. After the inspection is done there is big money to be made in CPO cars especially for the dealer because most likely it was a low mileage lease. The first lessee most likely paid 60% of the coat of the car so the dealer marks it up because they can and when they sell it they pat their bank loan on it and the rest is profit. (Ie: a car is 20k new, it was leased for 3 years at 200 a month with 2,000 down. So the original lessee has paid 9,200 into the car, assuming that the dealer puts less than 500 into maintenance at end of lease, that means they only need to sell the car for 11,300 to break even. And I'm not sure but the last time I checked CPO cars are very expensive, so they mark the car up to 18,000 and take the first 17,509 that walks in. A profit of 6,200. For just one CPO car. 6. If you take it to another dealer after you bought the car because a certain maintenance wasn't done and it was suppose to be done, you're expecting the other dealer to foot the bill because there is no maintenance reimbursement from Subaru. 7. Pay the bill, take it up with the original dealer. 8. Don't buy CPO cars, it's a scam. Most cars don't have issues until past 100,000 miles anyway 9. Next time buy a car with a few more miles and maybe a couple years older, you will save yourself $5-6,000 over a CPO car, and basically get the same thing. 10. Never ever ever ever ever ever take a dealers word on what has been done to the car always take it to a local competent mechanic.
  2. most insurance companies don't do that for motorcycles anymore. At least with the 3 different companies I've used. The premium is for a year not 6 months, they do this so they don't have the headache of dealing with sunny day lay up and getting flooded with phone calls of prow wanting to add coverage for a day or 2 and to stop issuing refunds when the cold weather starts
  3. My fuel costs have continued to go down. The more I use yes the more it costs but in general the cost of the fuel is down
  4. Insurance so screwed up, Allstate wanted 1,200 a year for my 650, but when I had my vfr750 it was 190 a year.

  6. I'm all for being able to drink a beer while driving, better for someone to drink A beer on the way home than ATP at the bar and drink 7 beers and 5 shots
  7. i did a quote with geico and it came in at 70$ cheaper a year than State Farm and iirc State Farm out sources power sports insurance. The only thing I get with having State Farm is a 30 dollar discount on home owners, but the bike doesn't get me any more discounts with car insurance.
  8. Did a quote with same coverage $100 a year cheaper to stick with State Farm
  9. shut the fuck up about your stupid snow tires
  10. Indiana people are strange. I lived there from 2009-2011. I will never do that again. Not once did coworkers or neighbors open up to me. I spent almost every night in my apartment and all my free time on my motorcycle, because there was absolutely nothing to do or no one to hang out with.
  11. Nope, salt on the road is a big no no.
  12. My parents have 2 houses both on the same plot of land one of them, the on I grew up in had really hard water. They had all the treatments, except reverse osmosis, and let me tell you. Taking a shower sucked, brushing teeth sucked. Dishwasher and washing ,aching repairmen knew us well. The average age of each respectively was 3 years. One time the pump broke and my dad ran a garden hose from another well to the house and it ruined the dishwasher in the 3 days it was hooked up. Tons and tins of calcium in the wells. One of the older wells, (we have 7 functioning currently) reeks of sulfur, just nasty nasty sulfur. Now at the other house where my grandpa lived, they installed a reverse osmosis. It makes the water taste absolutely great, but....... The filters are constantly getting clogged with junk and can take 2 minutes just to fill up a regular glass. Side note, one well is dug into an underground river, during the warm season, and irrigation systems are running, we dump it into the pond and it keeps the pond level, while the pond pump pushes 55psi through 3" lines over 13 acres. If the line into the pond is left open, and the irrigation systems are off the pond will overflow in 12 hours or so. But at my house we have the evil fluorinated city water. And I just run 2 filters under the kitchen sink. One for taste and the other to remove fluoride and once the chlorine is out of the water it's very drinkable.
  13. Selling my baby http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/mcy/4257188343.html $5300 is absolute lowest price on the bike. No gear will be sold until bike is sold.
  14. If a cop hits the lights, and they don't pull over. Attempt for another 60-90 seconds. If again fail to pull over get a clear picture of drivers face from one of our many crime prevention cameras and arrest at a later date.
  15. I smoke for a few months then quit for a year, then smoke then quit. Mostly because I actually am one of those weirdos who like smoking, the smell the taste the relaxation, and the morning laxation after the first cig and cup of coffee. Ha.

    Dishwashers

unless it was made by Ducati, minus the motor belt and water jet nozzle adjustments every 30 washes

    Dishwashers

General rule of thumb, city water = no extended warranty, well or cistern water = probably not a bad idea to buy the extended warranty.

    Dishwashers

F that? Because it takes all of 60 seconds to unscrew it and rinse it over the sink and screw it back in? Keeping any larger partials from clogging the drain line?

    Dishwashers

not exactly. Once you get over the 400 dollar mark, you get optical sensors to sense how dirty the water coming from the dishes is. It saves a ton of water because the machine will use only the amount of water truly necessary

I've got a $499 kenmore/maytag with turbo zone. Never used the turbo zone, I just turn the smart wash on and let it go. I also always turn the heated dry OFF. the water is hot enough a couple hours after running everything is dry unless a measuring cup gets flipped over
