  1. Daily rider is 38 years old. Just hitting her prime.
  2. July 22-24. I'll be there most of the weekend, haven't decided if i'll be camping or just riding down every day.
  3. I remember my first "big" ride. Rode about 150 miles in one day, and felt like i had ran a marathon. Since then, I've built up to longer and longer rides, and now can easily ride sunrise to sunset, only stopping for fuel for me and the bike. I can't stress enough to people how much of a difference ear plugs makes. Hours and hours of wind and engine noise put a huge mental a physical strain on you. I can do twice as many miles in a day wearing them vs. without.
  4. I love riding long distances. Every saturday i can, I ride 400-500 miles. Last saturday i left my house at 7:30 in the morning, and didn't get home till 9:00 at night. A lot of that time was spent at the OR meet though. To me there is nothing more relaxing than cruising along, no real destination, watching the miles roll past on the odometer. Alone with the road, the drone of the engine, and your own thoughts. Driving in a car is just a constant longing for me to get there, not so on the bike. Attacking twisty roads is a blast, don't get me wrong. But I love just riding for hours on deserted straight 2-lanes. Last year i rode 700 miles in a day during a 3000 mile 10 day trip to maine and canada from my home in indiana. This year i'm planning on getting my IronButt1000 riding to orlando nonstop. I've got a ton of respect for you guys that ride bike miles on sportbikes. I'm not riding the most comfortable bike in the world, but i think i would be permanently hunched after a big ride on a sportbike.
  5. I'm actually planning on buying a less than lethal weapon to carry after a road rage incident today. I can't really carry a gun to work, and commuting home is when i always run into road ragers. I never, want to have to pull the shit i did today to get away from a road rager ever again. It would have been nice to have stopped at my exit ramp, and when he got out of his car greeted him with some pepper spray, or tazer instead of taking off the wrong way down the exit ramp riding in the grass.
  6. Says it's for "Harley type bikes" No need to worry about sharp turns.
  7. I was wondering who was riding the pacific coast. Weird hondas unite!
  8. I wish i could buy him leathers and a full face though, That would be bad ass. I might machine him an aluminum helmet at work and put some padding in it, i doubt he would like wearing it though.
  9. He actually wears a pair of swimming goggles that i've modified to fit him, but i'm planning on getting some doggles for him soon I didn't want to invest money in them until i figured out if he actually wanted to ride or not. My Jack Russell freaked out when i started the bike with him on it, so he can't ride. The beagle mix loves it though.
  10. Yeah, I worry about it too. He obviously loves riding as much as i do, and if i walk away from a wreck where he is hurt, the cager that caused it won't be walking away. Hes strapped in with a harness and if the bike goes down he'll stay with it. As long as the bike just lowslides he should be fine. he'll hit the padded walls of the box. If the bike highsides, thats a different story but i only take slow roads with him on it.
  11. Rides on a box i strapped on the luggage rack/passenger seat. He's a beagle, not like its a german shepard or something.
  12. Everytime i bring my dog to my grandparents house on my bike, My grandma says "You didn't take him on your bike did you? Nah, I just felt like wearing my gear while i was driving my truck.
  13. Good, me and the bike both need a bath! Mind if you soap us down before i leave?
  14. Nothing pisses me off more than when people ask, "whats the lowest you would go", in an email, without even looking at it. Now, Come look at what i'm selling, find the flaws and what not, then we'll negotiate. Anytime someone starts off with asking that question, I tell them 500 more than i was asking in the ad.
  15. Have a small house in the middle of nowhere with lots of land for off road riding. Go skydiving. Ride around the world. (at the very least ride deep into south america.)
  16. I think the tube is brass, They're a goldish color, I'm not good at trying to identify metals. as thin walled as the fitting is i would think aluminium would just break off.
  17. Holmes county is awesome and not very far from us. Besides all the god damn mini vans that want to take 50mph sweepers at 30. Then speed up to 70 on the straights when the little 350 doesn't have the power to pass. I was screaming inside my helmet out of frustration. I resorted to going 30 in the straights to let them get ahead, just so i could take the corners at a reasonable speed. 3 minivans in a row did the exact same thing to me. I realize that a grand caravan isn't a miata, but come on, they can handle at least doing the suggested speed through a corner. I guess it's hard to take a corner when you're talking into a cell phone with one hand, and poking shit into a gps with the other. Yes, one of these fuckers was doing that.
  18. I didn't think about solder, Can you solder aluminum to brass? But +1 on the rest. All the rubber parts can be replaced in the earlier honda petcocks. Get a new filter screen too if yours has holes in it, unless you're running a inline filter. Sucks having to pull the carbs when a tiny flake of rust gets stuck in a jet.
  19. Shoulda ran em over. "I didn't see em officer, I swear." I'm sure the victim would have vouched that they ran in front of you.
  20. Mines a four, not a twin. They're almost completely different. If its a dual output i think i have a petcock for a CB200 twin that may work.
  21. Somewhere on 71 i got approached by a car load of them heading to Cleveland. One bummed a smoke off me and was shooting the shit talking bikes with me. I'm used to random people talking to me at almost every gas stop i make, never had a drag queen want to talk about bikes though.
  22. How much are you asking?

  23. Poor mans way would be tap the hole and put in a fitting like this. http://www.hindustanbrass.com/images/hose7.jpg Cheaper than a new petcock, if you can even find an NOS one. Are those dual output or single? I might have one laying around in my parts stash. Wouldn't be for a 350 twin, but it may work.
  24. Dang, so i guess i wasn't the oldest bike there. Beat me by a year. Floats sticking or what?
