Heard the announcement at the recent Motegi round, Ben Spies is done racing. Full retirement. Press conference quoted that with both of his shoulder injuries this year, he just doesn't feel that he can physically do it anymore. Kind of a long career I guess since I have watched him come through AMA since his 750SS days starting back in 2000. I've not followed him closely behind the scenes these past few years and wondering what he'll get into now? Management? Team ownership? Host a race school somewhere? Anybody heard/know? Any insight on who'll move up from Moto2 or WSBK?

Crazy stuff. Mike ( 2fat2fly here ) knows what a buzzard feels like. Shortly after getting his turbo ZX12 back on the road he had a slight collision with one, and thankfully he wasn't hauling ass or it could've been much worse.

I'll be investing in a cheap trackwhore, keep the 14 but mod it some more, and probably add a Connie. Trackbike may happen soon, but the rest of this will happen after we relocate to a country home with 2 garages.

Wife and I may plan on going again, not sure how soon we'll preorder the tickets though......we may end up spending the spare coin on trackdays instead

Got a neighbor that has a 2013 Ninja 1k and he loves it. Glad Kawi built this model to compete in the liter ST's, and world's better than the pre '08 Connie 1k's

I learned to rev match over 10 years ago, and albeit a natural habit now....I'm still not perfect at it. Mainly got used to gripping the throttle with just my ring finger and pinky so my index and middle fingers were free to use the brake. Try it without braking to get used to the throttle work in rev matching, but focus on gripping with just your ring and pinky only when you practice....then start trying to brake LIGHTLY while doing it. You dont want to jump into trying it and stab the brakes, your nuts will never forgive you after that tank smooshin' Just break down the steps before collectively throwing it all together. Thats how I learned. Hit some back roads where there's no traffic. Can't say enough about taking in some trackdays to really help your body correlate the motions too

Checked the radiator for oil skim at the cap? Does the oil appear milky at all? "Possible" its a defective head gasket. Just a thought. If the blowby line out of the crankcase isn't wet, then its likely burning it. That new of a bike, I'd take it into the dealer and see what they can find

I wouldn't pay $7k, but if it could be negotiated down to high 5's or low 6's.....it's sexy enough to be a decent deal imo

I dont agree at all with how these tards were riding, and circumstances escalated way out of control on both parties. Sportbike stunting has been a growing trend for decades and has never been so popular, so it will surely be more and more obvious in public since the sheer number of stunt riders have increased exponentially. Are news crews completely brainless in that this is some sort of brand new epidemic? What rock have they been rotting under? From the beginning in mass production of motorcycles there have been ruthless gangs that would kill, mame, rape, and pillage.....but appears to me that these fucks are just playing around on public streets and highways. Sure, they may cause an accident once in a while but those statistics are vastly paled in comparison to dumbshits killing others by texting/driving, on the phone/driving, or just shitty driving period - so I see the same disregard to public safety between the two....and honestly, its even more dangerous in failing to control a car or truck than a bike due to the huge differences in destructive mass. And are they gangs? Stupid question since it's most likely just everyday groups and clubs that share interest in stunting....just like our OhioRider cliques that partake in group rides on twisty backroads, or touring, or dirt riding. Only, we choose to act as adults ( mostly ) and seems these assholes choose otherwise. Sadder yet, is that the public will likely again judge us ALL by our worst specimens

He meant ECU's ( Engine Control Unit ) but cant all caps the title I guess? Tiger, wife and I rode to our local Kawi dealer and they had us in and out within an hour. They're not reflashing at our dealer, they just order a new unit in and transfer data when the bikes come in. If you received a campaign notification, call Vista ( or whatever Kawi dealer you prefer ) and have them get it coming in

Firstly, I'm way jelly of the kickass work environment you're blessed with.....truly awe inspiring shots. Did you notice the vertical plane hidden in the cloud on the right? Almost ironic

keep your eyes peeled for another Dayton route ride before winter hits. If someone else doesn't orchestrate one, I will. Gotta have one more group ride before our bikes hibernate for the winter
