  1. Pretty intense injury but he appears luckier than I first thought. Looks like what ever drove into his face slipped through under his helmet.
  2. Sorry if its a repost, and I've edited a warning into the 1st post Karl:D
  3. This could be graphic for some folks, so weak stomached veiwer discretion is advised http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ImuTpUYa-4&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  4. Here's the OhioRiders.net decals http://www.abdecal.com/search.php?search_query=OhioRiders As for the "Watchout for motorcycles" decals, he may have taken them down but you can create your own and still be fairly inexpensive if you want them
  5. mmmmaybe? Even if I were, and I'm not saying I wasn't, it wouldn't change my perspective but surely wouldn't have been easy to read......probably some fragmented sentences, misused superlatives, and poorly placed adjectival phrasing
  6. Here's some available in Circleville for 5/3-5/5, close enough for us overnighters? http://www.choicehotels.com/ires/en-US/html/Availability#rsm-rate-RACK
  7. I'm not finding much available in Logan at all for hotel stay. I will check Lancaster/Rockbridge areas and possibly Chillicothe/Athens if no luck closer to Hocking
  8. Nice shot of the afterburner I love WSB, lots of contenders to keep things interesting
  9. I dont hate on HD's, just a lot of their owner's can act like absolute anus'. There's HD fans, and there's HD fanatics. If you're a fan, you appreciate the bikes for what they do within your lifestyle.....if you're a fanatic, the bike BECOMES your lifestyle. Do or die types don't impress me, and have given me shit on occasion about my choices in a bike. I'd always check every pocket and could never find 1 fuck to give about their closed minded opinion. I ride a jap sport because it does what I ask of it, and I love the experience - HD can do the same, but to me they are simply selling a product based on it's heritage at a huge margin over metric versions of equal quality. This is simply my opinion, nothing more and no personal hate intended. Get the bike you want, and enjoy it.....just dont 'love it, live it, or leave it' like so many seem to do. It's not just for Americans or a war between countries, it's a brotherhood for all to share and be part of together.
  10. I took the ARC at Honda's course in Troy the same weekend my wife took the BRC. I've been riding for almost 30 years, dirt/street. There wasn't much I didn't already know but it touched on some refresher basics that I hadn't used in quite a while, and the low speed maneuvering/critique was insightful. I got the same insurance refund for a 5hr course that my wife spent 3 days to get. Well worth it for the experience alone, but even better when you're virtually paid to go
  11. I have a friend selling a Roadstar Warrior is you want to cruise, save $5k, AND pass about every one of your HD buddies. Pm me for details if you can resist overpaying for a monster twin
  12. I'd rather hit a tree than some of those concrete walls/posts/pillars. That's like a few bikes short of being the Isle of Man in downhilling:bow: Thats one cool town
  13. Bring toilet paper! You'll find it a necessary accompaniment
  14. Our insurance company kicked us both back for our courses. Spent $25 each and got $75 back on our premiums, so even if it's $50....I'm assuming you'll still make money back pending how assholish your ins. provider is

    Should I?

Depends on your collection, if you can spare them to fund a new ride....do so. Then again, guns are like gold bars in the respect they can outlast about any motorcycle and take up less room doing it, hold value well, and protect you and yours Just save money by waiting longer for the bike to keep your arms
  16. Best to walk away from it than throw down, but when I was younger I'd have done the same. My current Service Mgr pushed my buttons enough to force me out the door once, my bosses were understanding since the guy is a PsuedoNaziAnus, he was told to apologize so I reminded him how I saved his life that day by walking away Grabbed up my boss back in my early 20's, and even after a choke hold/verbal thrashing I kept my job, without leave but got a writeup for mishandling the situation. Funny how 1 quick, physical lesson can learn a person some fast lessons. But I was ready to brawl at a moments notice in my younger years. Age, wisdom , bills, and lower testosterone levels play quite a part in quick decision making later in life

    Anyone into RC?

Tower Hobbies and a local RC shop were my best friends back then, not sure now days who's the best supplier to buy through. Always breaking shit on the car, it STAYS expensive when you play with friends on a track chock full of jumps and rhythms to mistime over and over
  18. Lodges ( sleep 8-14 or bigger 20-25 ) I'm finding are booked May 4-5, or so damn costly its not worth it so working on cabin availability now. Rollnhot had a couple nice options but would leave a lot of folks fending for their own crash site, so is everyone against hotel/motel idea? I prefer cabins myself for privacy, seclusion, peace, etc.....but would like to hang with folks for evening bs reflection sessions afterwards. Rather hear what all of us overnighters prefer to do? Keep it as a group? Or split up and some here, some there? Does it really matter if we have a meeting point to kick it off each day? Can mods add a poll to this please? DoubleDreamRide 2013 poll for hotel? Cabin. Not staying overnight Maybe make it simpler to have a majority vote to guide the event
  19. And dont follow Todd unless you have a dualsport or dirtbike, he likey to go offroady

    Anyone into RC?

Ya gotta laugh at a crash, if you dont you'll cry or kill someone. Its all about the fun. Glad you and your dad got more in common with the riding, Karl. Father/Son gigs are a must imo. My Dad was my best friend, even though he adopted me at 4yrs old. He always treated me like his own, taught me more than I'll ever remember, and was the smartest person I've ever known. He died in '99 and was lost without him until my biological father came back into my life. Now, he and I have been rekindling a lifetime of lost companionship the last few years. It's been great, we're almost too much alike
  21. I vote for May 4th/5th weekend so Doc can play. Afterall this was originally HIS baby, we're just planning on adopting it in his absence later:D Rollnhot and I have been rashing out some ideas via txt, but unless we go with a hotel then the group is probably going to be seperated here and there. No big deal, we can simply plan a group meeting point each day to get us all together. We are definitely in, and plan to jockey our schedules to accommodate the consensus. To be continued...
