  1. Crafty. And economical use of some free timber. Did you watch "Mountain Men" or have you always been this handy?
  2. :welcome: BUT :ttiwwop: LETS SEE THE BIKE!
  3. There were 2-up in shorts n tee's:nono: Todd said the only requirement is helmet and gloves
  4. Had a great time, awesome racing, good company, and campground shenanigans were fairly low ( at least when we were there ) except for the multitude of porta-shitter fires, and the dirtbike kid running from the cops. Must do it again next year!
  5. Yes, definitely buy at the gate now. I dont think you would get the tix in the mail in time to attend this wkend, unless theres a way to print tix after purchasing on their site?
  6. You all are making me hungry! Oldschool, you better let me know when your operation is up and running, my uncle owns Davis Meats in Sidney so I can get yummy cuts at good prices - then we can all get our fill of smoked delicousness together some evening!
  7. Unreal how much HP these liters are getting now. It took $1600 to get my 14 at that same number, and all this guy had to do was flash the stock ecu? On a 10R?! Damn, thats awesome! New S1000RR's are getting big numbers like that too right out of the box. Guess I'll have to abstain from screwing around with these newer 1000's on the road in fear my pride will surely be stomped:D Nice bike man! Good choice too
  8. Think you'll like them. The guy I bought my bike from used these religiously on his GSXR6 and his GSXR1k trackbikes. He had a fresh set on the 14 when I bought it, said they performed very well on the bigger bike too. Good tack and felt no lack of cornering confidence, but I cooked 'em up quick on the street though.
  9. I got a new set of Q2's myself for future tracktime. Running Roadmarts now and they hold up to some abuse fairly well as long as you dont get a slow leak in the front and throw it into the corners anyway, then wonder why its fighting back and the whole bike slides in and out of the turns - found it when we finally stopped for a break and it was smoked to the bone and @ 18psi:nono: New front is back on it, all is good again. Cant wait to mount the Q2's on the spares to try out next
  10. I would have enjoyed the demo day, but we'll be at the races all wkend. Really want to try out the new crossplane cranked R1 just for gits and shiggles, but I'd probably get hooked and then have a new bike payment to remind me how stupid I can be Went to Gover Harley a couple years ago to try out the 1125R's they were demo'ing, but it was cancelled due to WIND......seriously......it was whippin about 20-30mph that day but we rode out there just to try 'em out and they wouldnt let anyone ride! We werent happy so the salesguy threw us a few Buell brand bikelocks so I guess it wasnt a total loss
  11. I will probably be walking the pits between most every class race, I will look for ya
  12. :eek:Did you drink it already?
  13. Spray on adhesive like for cars headliners. Its rubber cement based so you can peel the pads right off, then roll big boogers with whats left to flip at your friends
  14. HBD! Cooter should gift you his new ZX10R, afterall.......YOU are the Kawi Kid!!
  15. So, as I do feel bad for the rider's family and friends......we can only blame him for his departure. However, in his defense......the helmet couldn't even save his bike, so what good would it have done on his head?
  16. We see a ton of trucks with the Allisons, mostly business class (city equip), bus, and rv's. And your right, class 8's run the autoshifts (Freedomline and Eatons) as I failed to specify but full auto is in the works for newer age sleepers/daycabs and will surely dominate the market eventually. These new hybrids are freakshows but could prove their worth too, just odd to see a huge generator-style setup on a semi:eek: Ohio now has the "hands free" law on cel use for truckers, so they shouldnt even have a phone in their hand anymore - but I still see out-of-staters talking to their palms:nono:
  17. OH YEAH, WELL........YOU'RE.....BUTTCRACK UGLY! Just kiddin', I've heard it a few times from other guys that can't believe how hideous the bike looks to them.......I just tell 'em all the same thing, "no need to puke over the bitch's ugly face when you'll only see the tail of it anyway":D:D:D
  18. Man, this sucks to hear anytime anyone has a pet that passes. Thinking back to when my pup was hit on the road and all I could do about it was hold him until the end.....I agree that each pet we all own are a small tragedy waiting to happen. BUT, it's always worth it when compared to the years of enjoyment/love/companionship in the end. RIP little Aussie
  19. THAT sounds like it could've been a hairy, scary situation. I would definitely buy for necessity and braking moreso than mpg's and strain on the vehicle. And you are right on, the automatics are becoming extremely popular in the 1-ton and up diesel world due to their tolerance of heavy torque and ease of use. Class 8 trucks have been adopting the Allison 3000 series auto's in the last few years with great results, makes it easier on the driver in town as well as better fuel mileage. With the right diff ratio under it, the new Freightliner Cascadia can boast an avg 7-8 mpg at full load - unheard of a decade ago.
  20. I did a head gasket on my old 22R, gotta love those tiny OHC's. Took maybe an hour. But the RE's injection would surely add time to the job
  21. I love my big I4, main reason I chose this size bike is the comfort of it for a guy my size. I'm 6ft and 290 so it fit me well. I never liked the thinner V2's since they didnt feel broad enough for me. My ZX is fairly nimble for what it is thanks to Kawi's chassis/engine positions to keep the cg pretty low. After full Brocks system, pc3, and fine tuning its pulling daily at 185ish HP at 112Tq - add good fuel and switch to the drag map and its bested at 192.7hp @ 114.2Tq. Sam, I'd bet you would be VERY happy on a ZX14. Its wet weight is comparable to your TL, but with quite a bit more pull and probably more comfortable too. You can get NICE, earlier model 14's around $6k with tasteful mods so if you could manage $2500-$3k out of your TL you would only need $80/month for a few years to get into one (pending good credit of course:D)
