  1. My wife got her temps and took the msf before she ever owned a bike. Shortly after that she started on an 800 Intruder, which isnt a good first bike for a petite lady but I'd haul her to the mall and jump off so she could work the controls at slow speeds and practice shifting. The bike didnt have good balance or low enough cg until it was into 2nd gear or better. Even with a low seat height and laid back riding position, she didnt enjoy riding much and wasnt comfy with the weight of the bike. Plus the controls had zero adjustment to help her out. We traded it on her '09 Ninja 250 after 1 season, and she has LOVED riding ever since. Light, nimble, low, not overpowering, fairly highway friendly, and great on gas. An empty parking lot is a good training place to keep clear of traffic/obstacles, but the MSF is most valuable to begin with.
  2. I have a few questions, but I'm not exactly in the perfect buying position.....although, this setup is just what I have been researching and "may be" financially crunchable. But dont hate if I cant play;) Whats the interior height? Is this aluminum framed or sided? GVWR empty? Tongue wgt? I would be tuggin with a stock '08 Tacoma 4x4 4.0L AT w/tow pkg. Enough truck or would it need susp help and a supercharger?
  3. Happy Belated BDay to your pops, miss mine still since his death in January '99. Its my toughest obstacle in life, to date. We just gotta keep on keepin' on
  4. T-minus Holy Shit and counting......lift off!
  5. Whoa whoa whoa! You're doin' it wrong - looked like fun though
  6. Definitely get some riding in this weekend with the upcoming down time. Speedy recovery and let the ankle take the time to heal
  7. Awesome - post pics along the way of the build!

This is a good listen and pretty easy on the ears too. Just tasteful talent ( yes I still suck at embedding video ) http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=26e1I-c-Dac

That thing sounds beastly too, nice ride Matt!
  11. Looked like Joe Dirts dummer brother scrap value just bought that idiot another joint ( like he needs one anyway:lol:) You have decent security setup though, is there 8 cams total? Either way, its youtube gold!
  12. Possibly retrofit newer comparable carbs of similar size and rejet to suit the engine demands?
  13. I used to live in Tipp, hope to see you out this season and watch for occasional group rides/meets in the Events section for Southwest Ohio. Oil change intervals vary with opinion, but I change mine every 2-3k miles. New filter once a year, but I swap oil twice usually ( depending on mileage each season )
  14. Couldnt hurt to offer less than $2k and make him bring you up to $2k if you go for it, but go over it in person with a keen eye since it has been rashed n bent on the left and he failed to disclose why/when/what happened. I'm with these guys on getting a newer specimen though, especially with the damage already on the '03 - rashed later models aren't much more. Up to you though, if money is tight and your old bikes parts can crossbreed to the '03 it may be worth it to you.
  15. Seems you're on the right path since you have a bad frame and no bodykit on your '01, consider it a parts donor and find a good/cheap trackbike of the same gen. Would be the easiest route over parting out or finding a frame/body for your old bike. $2k isnt horrible for an '03, pending condition; and 30k mi isnt exactly LOW so negotiate the price some more. Clean title on the '03, price isnt far off - a salvage or trackbike at that age/mileage, offer about $1750?

    STILLMANANDCARRIE

What? I think its a very flattering photo
  17. Clearwater isnt bad, close to StPete so its virtually the same scenery. Depends on what you 2 want to do really. The keys are great for on/in the water fun. But if your primary goal is beach, drinks, and palm trees - most anyplace Gulfside would suffice. Screw ANYTHING on the east side of the state thats ocean related......Atlantic is a dirty bitch and looks just like a salty Lake Erie - so unless you're into Nascar or the JFK Space Center, stay west or southwest FL!
