I remember hearing about the Yeti around there when I was growing up, something about him living around those cabins and the woods down behind the cemetary? Hunted there for years and never saw him though:( We used to camp at the Brethren cottage right along the river on the west side -- and if you follow the creek (Painters creek maybe?) upstream between the cottage and the old swimming pool thats filled in by the church bridge, there's an AWESOME place catch HUGE indian craws. We called it the "flats" because it was smooth as concrete and water is only about 2 feet.....my Dad would stand at one end with his seign while Mom and I would run downstream, chasing them right into his net - I remember leaving there with buckets of 'em. He had a good mushroom huntin' spot down there too
  6. If that's what she wants, so be it - there's no mention of any concept behind why she chose this, but imo it would've made more sense to get her graduating class injected into her arm
  7. Maybe they should've flown USAir.........but 'tis quite the load of bullshit to be charged by an American airline company to get your belongings home from fighting for the very country in which they're based - like the gov't couldn't roll those expenses in with their $1000 toilet seats and multi-billion $ warcraft?? WTF?!?!
  8. the speedo won't be affected by much, but it will read slower than your actual speed unless you've played with gearing......then it's a math project!! I've noticed with my bike is that factory 50's perform well, but that little extra profile helps turn in.......my bike would turn nicely on 50's, but felt even better on 55's
  9. I say this country should partake in public canings -- beat the criminals into submission and leave them with scars to always remember their undoings. Back in the old countries (where we all came from) laws were brutally inhumane, but when severe punishment is involved - thieves think twice.......I'm sure the crime rate back then was far less the percentage as it is today - of course, so was the population control!!! :D
  10. Congratulations on the new addition!! Be sure to corrupt your offspring through hours and hours of motorcycling and shooting!!

I've been seen jumping that same bridge when I was younger:D:D My folks bought the 4 old cabins that used to sit hillside upstream of that bridge - we tore some of them down to repurpose into an old barn we had - I learned to hunt in those woods behind the cemetary there too.......ah, the 80's.....

I think its more metric and Harley V2 related - I'm sure there would be "some" sports there though - I rode my last rocket to Gover Harley's open-house here in Piqua.....the ONLY metric there of course, but I didnt catch any shit from anyone, guess I got that big mean bald Harley look about me:D:D

I've been invited to JackAss Flats from guys at work, but they're some drinkin' cruiser riders that tend to be off the bike most of the night when I'd rather grab a quick bite-n-soda to go spin more miles - I dont like ro ride with guys that have been drinking, I like sober wingmen - enhances the chances of making it home unscathed. Would definitely dig doing some riding down there though, time is my problem with my daughters softball schedule - gotta make up 4 rainouts!! Ohio weather was absolute anus for a bit - always screwin' with a brutha's schedule.....will get some free days eventually, but for now I'm stuck with commute-only playtime

I'd wager Horseshoe Bend may be soiled up good right now from all the rain and washout off those hills, thems some TIGHT downhill switchbacks so watch your lines there too - other than that and Rudy Rd. all looks good on most the roads you got listed, oldschool - I've backroaded from Piqua to Huber via some of these - I like to throw MartinDale in the mix from Frederick but figured you left it out due to being floodprone - You ever ride out around Greenville Falls area (Covington) thems my old stompin grounds - Sugar Grove Rd west off Rt48 between Pleasant Hill and Covington has some nice scenery too - roads arent great for flying-low, but Falknor Rd (west off 48) still has a long section of handstacked riverstone wall standing since the Civil War if you wanna touch some history while you're out
  15. I 2nd this motion - I'm learing fast that these bigger bikes need the dual compounds moreso than smaller bikes if you want to get more than a season out of them......they still get good power down and havent really noticed mine stepping out on me more than usual since swapping from single compound tires
  16. ROADSMARTS!! Good mileage and good hook for aggressive street riding, havent tried trackworthiness but my big brute aint cuttin them up fast like it ate my BT's and Qualifiers - think I got 3.5k at most from the Qualifiers
  17. Checked out the Glock you have for sale, looks like a great deal but I want to eliminate other possibilities too - I dont want to start a small collection or have to trade up shortly after buying, so I'm taking my time to find MY gun if that makes sense. There's several things to consider other than fit/feel, but are easiest to compare first since it's not costing me ammo or range time.
  18. Nah, vf1000 has the 1911 - we only have a .38sp for home protection currently - but I'll def chk out the P2000 and USP40 too, thanx!

Good to hear she's breathin' again! Nothing but miles to rack up now!!
  20. Thanx but going with .40 cal
  21. Thanx for the visuals vf1 and chevy, surely helps give me more insight on what I need to look for......The S&W M&P looks like another possibility from a respectable mfg
  22. Thanx 4 the offer bro, but you're quite a haul from me in comparison to Vandalia to try these weapons out - I do appreciate it
  23. That XD45 looks about the frame size I'm after, and that .357 grip is considerably bigger than our .38sp and we've got xtended police grip on it. Compacts and SC's I've seen just appear to be too small for my mits but I'm definitely diggin' the M for that bit if extra
