  1. Hate to do it, but I'm not going to be able to attend. Gotta be out of town this weekend. Have a great ride!
  2. Great ride guys! Sorry I had to drop out early.
  3. is that wrong? Because I do, too. The whole speech is awesome, but if you don't have time to watch all 15 minutes, his last comments beginning at 13:15 give you a great sense of who he is. Classic!
  4. Count me in. I'll be coming all the way from the west side of Newark to meet up. Here are a couple routes to get to Logan. I selected the intersection of Hudson and Locust (downtown) as the starting point because there are several parking lots right there, and the UDF is just down the street. http://goo.gl/maps/NcF4p This one is straight to Logan. http://goo.gl/maps/BF5D1 This one is a little more interesting, if you want to get warmed up for the big ride. I think NateBob will be joining as well. Looking forward to an awesome ride!
  5. No major problems here. Other than...It's uncomfortable, it's less fuel efficient than my Honda Pilot, and it has this abrupt on/off throttle response at low speeds/RPMs, so if you're not really smooth, you look like you're riding a bucking bronco when you slowly cruise through a town (but the PCIII probably takes care of that). Enjoy it, and be careful. Also, I see that it doesn't have my favorite mod -- the reverse shifter (1 up 5 down). All you need to do is remove the stock shift linkage and bolt on a shifter from the same era VFR and boom! you're shifting gears like the MotoGP boys. Check out rc51.org for this and other common mods. Stock shifter: Reverse shifter:

    first gun

    That's what she said.

Don't get me wrong. I agree with all of what you said. I just wouldn't recommend it as a first gun for her--that trigger is HEAVY.

Also, I have a P-11 and I would NOT recommend it for a first gun. I carry it most of the time, but it's not much fun to shoot a whole lot at the range. Long, heavy trigger; very snappy recoil. Your hand does hurt after a while.

Check some recent news stories to see how effective a .22 is for self-defense. I can think of at least two situations where a .22 was used in a home invasion situation and the intruder was killed. My wife just got a Ruger SR22. It's a very nice gun; fits in her hands well; easy to rack the slide; very little recoil. I took it to the range and I'll probably end up shooting it more than her. It's really a fun little gun. And if you need to use it for self-defense, a gun that you're comfortable with is better than no gun, or a gun that's beyond your comfort level. Just my opinon.
  10. Great job on the video, Doc! I guess I'm partial because my bike is the still image up there.
  11. That's me. Sorry about you ears Uncle "Puck." It's a good thing I wasn't able to keep up with you or you might have permanent hearing loss!
  12. Speaking of that...to the fast group: how about that POS Chevy Beretta that we came upon? He was pushing that thing past the limit, but he was actually putting up a "decent" pace.
  13. Great time today guys! It was nice to meet and ride with you all. Can't wait to see the pics and vids.
