  1. Oh My God I want that Aprilia Tuono RV4 so freaking bad it hurts! I would pipe bomb a arctic beach full of baby seals and grade school aged orphaned children to have one! Aprilia hasa a kit to convert the Belt drive cams to gear train driven. SO MUCH WANT!!! Some day, I will have one....... some day.......
  2. Technically speaking the bastard love child of an I4 and V2 is the best engine configuration. There is nothing better than a V4! I miss my old VFR quite dearly, with that being said, my next bike will be a FZ1. Not exactly sure why yet....
  3. Cats, Toss Cats great distances. IT will be awesome!
  4. Yikes! note to self, check tire pressure frequently
  5. WHat is indmoto.com? Is it just resale of used bikes, it doesn't look like a typical shop.... Are those bikes salvage repairs?
  6. S0 I am looking for either a 2006+ Fz1 or as a back up if I end up being budget limited, a 1998-2001 VFR800. Possible a SV1000 if neither of the two previous choices work out. I need to keep my budget to around 5000, so I am stretching for the newer Fz1's but it doesn't hurt to try... I am finding pretty slim pickings on CL, where else can I search for bikes? cycle trader seems to only have harleys, what other websites are out there to find bikes?
  7. Holy craigslist ninjas! It looks like I have quite a variety to pick from! thanks for all the links!
  8. After Extensive research I think I have narrowed down my choices.. Its between a 2000+ VFR800 and a 2006+FZ1. I miss my 97 VFR750 dearly, she was the last year for gear driven cams, 750cc, and carbs. I wonder if any newer VFR can be held up to her standards. I think I would like to try to avoid the Vtec models, which leave we with a 2000 or 01 VFR... However, I think I'm leaning towards a newer FZ1...... Now all I need to do is find one... 2006+ (with the Aluminium frame...) Anybody know of any available?
  9. I never paid much attention to the FZ1's but it seems the newer models get some glowing reviews... Maybe this could be an alternative to another VFR....
  10. How great a deal? How do those beasts handle? My first bike before the VFR was a suzuki, I think I could go back....hmmmm....
  11. Never ridden a FZ1, but they seem to have a loyal fan base... how do they compare to a VFR? more sporty, less sporty,, little more hp?
  12. Link does not work!..arghhh... also forgot my log in to VFRD.....
  13. Hey all, I am still struggling to find a replacement to my 97 VFR. Since the 1998-2001 VFR in my price range seems to be impossible to find or too far away, I have started looking outside the Honda family. What does everyone think this bike is worth... 15k miles at 4500 seems like a lot, but there are a lot of extras.. http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/2434741220.html Any advice?
  14. Dunlop... if you want a lot of miles,, I think they are called road smarts? or sportmax road sport...
  15. Ducati = sexy, but Honda reliability has spoiled me... I think I am too loyal of a customer stop "riding red" I am thinking of a superhawk as alternative to the SV i thought of previously....
  16. pics or ti didn't happen. Also, the OP has a very true statement.
  17. I think I may be sticking with a VFR, or perhaps a little set of risers on a CBR.....
  18. If I'm right the 2001 is the last year for gear driven cams, 800ccs (783cc) and no VTEC. Seems like the perfect year... 2002 was the introduction of VTEC. As for the rectifiers taht burn up, I may still have a spare for my last VFR in the garage.... I'm starting to wonder how terrible a set on risers on a real sport bike would be for longer rides....
  19. A CBR1100xx,,, Never thought about the blackbird, time to do some research..... Are these, size-wise, a big bike like the busa or ZX14? Will they handle better than the VFR? What sort of recalls or reliability issues does the SV1000 have? Any owners like to share some info? Maybe I just need to spend more time looking for a 2001 VFR800. FI, and the cams are still gear driven.. save extra cash for suspension upgrades....
  20. Honda Already runs a V4 in MotoGP. Back in the 999cc days of motoGP Honda ran a V5. I wouldn't be surprised if they go back to that engine configuration. it seemed to work then..
  21. Busa's with swing arm extensions and chrome wheels are not really my style, kudos for finding a bunch on CL though. I would like to be able to commute on this bike, or a title-less trackday bike, although cool, is not much of an option either.....
