Probably only the folks from the New England states will understand this, but I’ll share anyway. A few weekends ago, we hosted a high school graduation party for my daughter. For the first time in 23 years, my entire family traveled out from Massachusetts. Even though it’s been over 2 decades since I moved West, I continually take crap from my family members because I moved to BFE Ohio, have guns, ride motorcycles, vote conservative, etc… My parents arrived at my house right after I had rode home from work, just in time to see me getting off the bike. Expecting to get another lengthy scolding on how dangerous motorcycles are, or that I am being selfish and not thinking of my kids, or that I’m setting a bad example; my mother simply looked at the bike, and the helmet and jacket hung over the handle bars and said, “Well, ahm glad you weah geah.”

You're bitching about me (except the poor spelling part) . . . or folks just like me. I do about $20k/yr buying and selling on CL, & treat it like a side business. Look for good deals on items (usually electric guitars) I know I can clean up, take better pictures and re-sell on CL for a profit. I've been doing this for over 10 years and have learned to be numb toward the idiots. Getting emotional about a Craigslist buy/sell interaction is like going out in the rain and being pissed you got wet. Using Craigslist to sell anything, you have to expect to be undercut by every respondent. It's not personal, just the nature of the process. I never offer the asking price...ever. That's not to say I don't on occasion, back track and raise my offer, or accept the sellers price. Also, the buyer (me) doesn't care about wasting your time. As a seller, if you don't like the offer that's been extended, inform the buyer you will not accept their offer, or better, simply don't respond. Your main weapon as a seller, is to clearly state in your ad that price is non-flexible, period. Sure you are limiting your potential market, but at least it might cut down on the # of foolishly low offers. Your other weapon is to simply not respond. I usually don't include the inflexible price disclaimer to my ads; rather I prefer to ignore the stupid low ball offers. As a frequent buyer on CL, I can assure you the frustration you may perceive after receiving a low-ball offer is far less than the frustration the low-ball offer-er will experience while not receiving an answer from you.

Nah, I want to build my own. I've got an unlimited supply of material, a laser cutter, waterjet and 3-D printers at my disposal.

More of my stupid questions... So from what the manual diagrams show, is it possible to have 2 front speakers, 2 rear speakers and 1 subwoofer hooked up to this stereo without using a separate amplifier? I apologize for being so dumb, but I know nothing about stereos. Honestly, I don't even turn on the radio in my car. The only reason I'm putting the effort into this Jeep is because my kids will be using it this summer.

So would that be a single channel amp?

If anyone out there has a few moments, please help out a car stereo dummy… The Jeep I’ve been working on came with, what I think is, a decent stereo (Pioneer DEH-X6500BT). According to my daughter, the speakers (only 2, in the dash) are shot. I scored a deal on 4 - 5.25” round speakers (Kicker DS525), so I’m planning on making 4x6 to 5.25 adapter plates and replacing the fronts, and also building two vented speaker ‘pods’ to attach to the roll cage as rear speakers. From a different project that never got off the ground, I also have a 6” subwoofer (Pyle PLPW6D). So I’m thinking that I might build a sealed enclosure and and install this little sub somewhere in the Jeep. If I read the information correctly, I don’t need a separate amplifier for the sub. The problem. . . I don't trust that I’m understanding the descriptions and pictograms on hooking up the speakers as shown in the manual. https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Car/DEH-X6500BT_OwnersManual112712.pdf (Pages 16, 17 & 18) Right now, all the wires for the speakers are coming out of a multi-contact plug (#1 on the diagram). Wires #10, #11, #12 & #13 (all for the rear speakers) are not hooked up to anything. Also, there’s nothing plugged into the RCA jacks. I’m thinking that I can hook up the rear speakers as shown using #10, #11, #12 & #13 and then attach the subwoofer using the RCA jack (#4 on the diagram showing the back of the stereo) as described on page 16 (left side of page). The stereo setting for this scenario is referred to as REAR/SUB.W. Will this work, or will the stereo go up in smoke? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Gervasi Vineyards, we have a winner!! The Missus and I had dinner there a few months ago and it was great. F*cking millionaires . . .I tell ya. Now they share that they're flying their private jet into Pittsburgh, looking over our facility there, then flying to Ohio to look up our skirts and will be leaving from Canton.

Can any one recommend a high end, upscale restaurant near (or south of) the Cleveland airport? Next week, we have a half billion dollar client coming in for a meet & greet/plant tour/etc. After their visit, they're heading to the Football HOF for an hour or so, then onto the Airport. Somewhere between North Canton and Brookpark, I've got to take these folks to dinner. I'm already thinking about Ken Stewart's in Highland Square, Akron. It's been years since I've been there but I recall it was excellent. There will be about 16 persons in the group. Money is no object here. What places would you recommend?

Just noticed this thread, so I figured I’d chime in . . . Late September 2015 (51st b-day), passing by a large mirror, noticed I was more jiggly and rounded than I cared to be. Per the scale, I was up to 204lbs. I set a 3 month goal of losing 14lbs, targeting 190lbs by year end. 6 mornings per week, I did 20 minutes of cardio (treadmill or elliptical) and 5 of those morning, also did 20 minutes of weight lifting (different muscle group each day). This, along with a sensible food choices, I still missed my year end goal by 5lbs. (I partially blame having 2 food-centric holidays in 4th quarter). So I increased the time slots up to 30 minutes each and set a 1st qtr 2016 goal of 185lbs. Happy to say I clocked in yesterday at 184lbs. I really don’t have more time to dedicate to working out (because I don’t want to wake up any earlier), so rather than increase overall time working out, I’m stealing 10 minutes from weight lifting and adding it to cardio time. It works for me because I really, I don’t want to build a lot of muscle. I would rather just tone up what I already have in the course of losing weight. I should include that I've dropped from 36w pants to 34w, and am back to wearing 'Large' shirts vs XL. The next goal to hit, by end of 2nd qtr 2016 is, 175lbs. There’s no reason I shouldn’t reach that mark, because when I got married 23 years ago, that’s about what I weighed (and was 15lbs less than that when I moved to Ohio in '90). A additional, but lesser goal for this summer, is to run an under 30 minute 5k. I’d like to try running a 10k, but I doubt my right knee will cooperate.

Ok, goofy question for any gym rats, trainers or fitness folks out there… What is the better technique for doing hanging knee raises; hanging from a bar with straight arms, or with my weight supported using elbow straps? I’m stepping up my ab workouts and want to include knee raises. I work out in the basement, which has only 7’-1” clearance under the floor joists. My options are: 1, I can fix a grip bar up in between the floor joists, such that I can effectively hang, straight armed, without bending my legs and have my feet just off the floor. 2, I can pick up a set of elbow straps and position them to lift my feet the same distance off the floor as option one. Either option is fine, I just want to confirm which starting position is better for abdominals, arms up or down?

What’s the buzz on Harbor Freight Aluminum frame/Rapid Pump floor jacks? I’ve been lugging my only floor jack, and insanely heavy steel one, between the garage and workshop long enough and am looking at buying a 2nd floor jack. The gravity altering model I’ve been using for over 15 years was bought at HF. It’s still working fine, so I’m not concerned about picking up another from them, although I not tried one of the Rapid Pump floor jacks yet. In looking at their website, they aluminum framed jacks for not that much more than the comparable steel units, but are about 1/3 lighter. Anyone have good or bad experience with one of these aluminum floor jacks?

I have a 97 TJ that I recently traded a sport bike for. So far, it's been fun (for the 200 miles or so I've put on it). Looking forward to warmer months with the top and doors off. My plan is to have fun driving it this summer, make it pretty and then sell it in the fall. Turns out the t-case in it is all f-'d up, so I'm shopping for a replacement NP-231 or NV-231 now. I also suspect the syncros in the 5spd are past their expiration date.

I don't get it...

We are expanding our off shifts and currently have 2nd and 3rd shift openings for CNC operators and Aluminum welders. We are also looking for folks capable of using handheld angle grinders. Neither opportunity requires a lot of experience as we will be providing the necessary training. Starting hourly is $14/hr with the potential for $17/hr inside of 6 months.

The tom tom rider is sold.

I'll look at it tonight and confirm.

Yes. it's free download from Tom Tom. I updated the maps on this one at the beginning of last riding season.

A '78 MGB - Currently, engine, transmission, gas tank and interior; all out. Top and windshield off. Front suspension and rotted out sub-structure rebuilt. I'm hoping to have it running and safe by late spring, but honestly, I hate this project. It doesn't speak to me at all. The very minute it's done, I'm putting it up for sale for 10% over what I'll have into it. A '97 Jeep TJ, 4cyl, 5spd. Traded my Bandit 1200 for it. It's going to be a mall crawler/street Jeep. I don't have the budget or patience to build a HD rock or mud crawler. Although not a car, this weekend, I'm finally picking up the '84 Honda Magna V45 basket case (free). I figure I'll keep this one at the ready to be worked on should the MG or Jeep get me pi$$ed off.

Thanks for the input. I did find the tires I need, but scaled back to only 4, for $100 ea.
-
Ok, the challenge of the day (or week) . . . find the lowest cost possible for a set of light truck tires. I'm looking for 5 - 235/75R16 (or 245/75R16) to put on my Jeep project and have a self imposed budget of $500. There are a few local options for used tires but if possible, I'd rather buy new. Given that this TJ will see little, if any off-road activity, a less aggressive tread would be fine. Anyone out there have inside information as where to find the best deal on new tires in North East Ohio?

Nope. I'll move it out of my barn, and to the edge of the road if necessary, but that's it -

Here are the pics: I could not get a picture of the motor plate, but it reads, 1.5hp, 110/230v, 16/8 amp, 1200 rpm If it's not spoken for by the end of the weekend, I'm putting it by the road with a 'scrap' sign on it.
