Hahahaha J, u know ur the lone survivor of the uber sport world, every one else went hard panniers For sure, it was the high used price that kept me away from going fjr so long. Now that couple new generations are out the 2nd gen pricing is coming down. I always liked a heavier bike with big bags for some weird reason. Every bike I got I put hard panniers on lol. Almost got one for the monster even- 39 replies

Hahahaha I am trying to keep things a secret and hoping to get at least 6 months between posts so people don't really just put me on ignore list Even if I know it's a big fat lie than the fjr it still sounds good- 39 replies

I always liked the fjr on paper stats, but for some reason the seating and ergo never agreed with me, the neck is too wide pushing your crotch kinda wide. And the Connie was perfect fit for me. But for some weird reason I knew I would end up getting the fjr eventually and that thought stuck with me I guess when I jumped into the deal. Yes for sure, while I was enjoying the vfr, the flow chart looked like this, if I wanted more touring oriented upgrade get the fjr. If I wanted more sporting oriented upgrade get the tuono, always wanted to try one. Well this was until I tried the 7th gen vfr, now that is the perfect bike right there praying no good ones pop up closer to me.- 39 replies

Me too I still use the spectacles belt bags shoes I bought from India 8 yrs ago, I am weirdly minimalist in all other aspects expect for this one addiction, which I am not at all proud off. For sure, I hope I don't, lot of work I put into it ( not in your standards ) got to know the bike well, now need to ride and get used to the weight I hope too Phil,as of now fjr is the most predominant bike in this forum, about 6-7 I counted- 39 replies

thx guys, yes i been itching to ride this bike. Was in my unheated garage all night last night to get this thing finished so i can do a test run saturday and go for longer run sunday. Prolly gonna end up catching cold by tomorrow and bed ridden by sunday lol All the bikes i been through i put at least 4K + miles in the short duration i had them. Thus getting to know them well but still not fully getting used to them. This will be a big disadvantage as i never get to "learn" one bike and be comfortable with it. But so far one of the best motorcycle ever has been my beloved vstrom, am gonna miss selling that bike. @Al Z. Heimer had advised me multiple time that selling that bike would be one big mistake but an OCD ADD addict brain is wired different- 39 replies

Well it's been a slowly oozing public knowledge about this addict failing to quit motorcycling again. Last year sold both bikes- vstrom and Daytona by the end of fall. Was some what content with the decision about quitting (third attempt in 3yrs) and living along when some one did a Leonardo decap style inception about FJR into this volatile brain. Well the thought kept brewing and before the first snow hit right before winter a used 2nd gen fjr came along for good price and I couldn't resist because of good old price and being way more foolish than I thought I would ever become I set out to rip up the bike and upgrade and finish up the maintenance. Drowned few more Hundys into it and this is it. Blue Piggy with some lipstick Ready for touring duties

You think rare opportunity for three generation of family getting together from three different states under one roof is bigger than riding a motorcycle ... you sure ? Lol This thing is going to be too fast jerry

Dayuuuuum, good one. There should be rules against posting these in forum hehe need to fight the incredible urge and be a good boy Noooooooooo nooooooo

Sure, if nothing else pans out I would rather wait and ride with you later than going solo. If any other option opens up might jump on it if you don't mind. We will keep in touch over txt and so we know how the plan is coming along for both of us I need to put the bike back together too

Looks like you gonna make me come all the way to Ozark for a big bro hug. And by that time you may not be that big any more the way the things are progressing. Or i should say its you regressing.
-
Dang it all my chips was on you as my s6y mate haha, but I had a feeling it might be tight since you got out last week. Finish up bike quick, take her out for dinner / vine and dine her on Saturday and engage in romantic talk and finish off with deep discussion about midlife crisis towards end and she might just say, "why not Take a ride Sunday to clear you mind"
-
Tim, if nothing else pans out I can take back roads and be at new concord gas station between 12 - 1. Well at least finally get to meet you after 5-6 yrs

Sunday Spring Season Starter Shakedown Shakalaka .. corny name simple game, any one riding this Sunday? Thinking of of getting out for a shortish 250-300 mile run. First ride for me since last season, I know most of you guys were lucky get few break-through days in between. Want to keep it medium moderate pace (100% not ideal for newer riders) closer to home base (within Ohio at least lol ) without wandering much since I did a ton of stuff on bike and just want to be safe just in the rarest chance of failure anyways thinking of leaving Canfield sheetz around 10 am, if any one interested let me know we can meet up in between or if any one already planned a ride and don't mind me jumping in l be glad to join. End game is just to get out and start the season easy simple and clean

Derek u showed me the way into wonderful world of teesprings, let me help you with these at least in future rides. -
You or the bike? I guess if all the fill process was right then it's a ymmv kind of scenario. So far it's been good call for me on three different types of bike. wont deny the possibility of bias hehehe and just like that we embark on a coolant thread.

Having the right tank and ergo played a big role for me in realizing this statement. The one bike that fit me like a glove was the zx14. Arched the outside foot and the knees would lock right into the grove of the gas tank, as in the leg is wedged in there. After that I could take both hands and inside foot off If I wanted to and I would still be locked in with pressure on both knees and foot. This made That big bike one of the best handling bike I rode since all I needed to do was easy gentle pushing ( really not making this up heheh ) If this makes any sense. On the Vfr I used to literally sit in the inside peg since my knee would just slide up the tank despite the snake skin and stuff. Is this what you meant @blue03636 other bikes I am having hard time finding that ergo. Sat on tons of bike on the motorcycle show, the one that gave me the right fit like a glove was.... gulp... a superduke GT, well it doesn't hurt to dream I guess. Do people adjust the rear set etc to get this "ergo right" or just looking for more clearance?
-
I wish I had this thought process before I went and flushed system and filled it up with engine ice. But that thing seemed to work and kept the zook14 1-2 bar lower than the stock coolant. But it's hard to come by and in emergency I might be stuck.
