  1. Dont worry tim, UP was supposed to lead a pace sometimes called as "mach retard" or next to it. But except for frequent flyers of that jet plane no one else shud be doing that pace. those frequent flyers are now leading the next pace level, Both gasser and jschaf i rode with are very responsible riders. Nothing to worry they will keep fun pace for the experienced. Meanwhile there is still two medium intermediate pace groups as well as slow groups where majority will be riding. If we have trouble like last year where we find it hard to fill up the fast groups we will have to tweak one fast group a little bit slower etc etc
  2. to start off with, i was thinking there would be no one to ride in UP mach pace since most of his fast companies are leading other groups That group would have been UP and Inyaz only Jschaf and Gasser would be leading a fast enuff pace for the speedy guys to enjoy. having said all that, if still guys crave for more, entice UP to ride and lead Cant locate it on map , but if there is we will leave it up to the last slow group lead guys to decide on choosing it based on how busy the other two is, if not we will keep with this plan for now to avoid confusion
  3. These are the gas stops This is the one and only gas stop High grade fuel available 85 miles from here to end of ride with gas stop around (almost sure every one can make that) Fast group (less in number) will fill from speedway Medium groups (more number) will go to BP Slow groups will go to speedway and by that time hopefully fast group is done Wait time of about 20 mins here for every one to fill up. After 20 mins the fast guys will start to pull out Hopefully soon the medium and slow group can start pulling out No need to get over excited seeing the other groups pulling out, just make sure you are ready for your own group lead and sweep. Overall just like any other normal group ride, just follow the hints from lead and sweep.
  4. Yes that's the plan, I will need to tweak the route a little so it shows we are passing through nelsonville, will post all the comprehensive details by noon in a word or PDF so it'd easy to print out as well
  5. Alex, there are people from around central area and those staying in hocking hills that plan to grab a bite after the ride ends. Only us from far end of state will be heading back out asap Once we hit the mall parking lot at then end of the ride you guys can catch up and decide among yourself
  6. This late I think ur right, lets just stick with nelsonville will complete out the rest of small details by tomorrow noon and have sort of finalized thread and print out etc ready
  7. call me crazy, but one time i want to do a midnight run as well, But its so damn dangerous but if we keep it safe will be one worth it. But lots of obstacles to overcome to realize this.
  8. One last last minute thing to complete the plan thread and close of all discussions, GAS stop Nelsonville ? speedway and BP Pros -bigger stations - high grade fuels -less confusing as no detours, on right side etc Cons -Early in the ride almost like 1/3 distance into ride -about 85 miles after this gas stop to end of ride. -no point in taking an extended break here as its early in ride, hopefully people gas up without taking helmets off, and be ready to pull out soon. Mcconnelsville 3 small stations Pros - perfect break for the ride to relax and gas up for about 15-20 mins Cons -confusing to get to gas stations -small detour from main route -Will have to split into 3 to fill up and save time -less available high grade fuel Sorry to ask opinion on everything, i find it easier to follow at least the general opinion of active posters rather than just putting things up. But if nobody has any opinion I am sticking to Nelsonville which seems to have way more positives that mcconnelsville. Esp since its less confusing By tomorrow noon a final plan of route with all break spot, time and every thing else will be ready for print out.
  9. UP, i understand leading might be confusing for you with the last minute change in plan, but i would say this you and the nephew will have a safe and fun time with Jerrys group. I would trust him to lead a nice easy pace since he is on a big bird, (if he was on the little one thats an entirely different story). Mykill might get carried away once the VTEC kicks in
  10. unfortunately there are no designated lunch stops, those who are close by(a lot of them) are stopping for a bite after the whole ride, those like us from far away need to start right back home to make it before night hahaha yes, yes same mall http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Chieftain+Dr&daddr=39.540016,-82.4069+to:OH-93+S+to:OH-56+E+to:39.4485168,-82.2010518+to:Burr+Oak+Blvd+to:7th+St+to:OH-669+W+to:S+Columbus+St+to:E+Hunter+St&hl=en&ll=39.539098,-82.409456&spn=0.012709,0.019205&sll=39.530592,-82.421536&sspn=0.025421,0.038409&geocode=FV1nWwIdAS0W-w%3BFTBVWwIdDJIW-ymzYS6pl-9HiDEGKE3i7NDZTQ%3BFaDfWAIdwrwV-w%3BFUg_WAId2B0Z-w%3BFcTvWQIdJbYZ-ylbwiZGbApIiDEMWITOdcZJlA%3BFcAhWgId-bkZ-w%3BFeEJXQIdcNke-w%3BFZ9UXgIdyxMe-w%3BFTJlXwIdhTkY-w%3BFetYWwIdspcW-w&gl=us&mra=dpe&mrsp=1&sz=15&via=1,4&t=m&z=16 more than fuel breaks i guess just to stretch the leg a bit, a half way or more than a half way point would be ideal, Personally i like nelsonville, but will like little bit of input from others on this.
  11. was just google map picturing this, That looks even better with two big gas stations near by, i mean it looks perfect, on right side of the road which means no crossing over + lots of pump + premium gas. only question is it too early for a break?
  12. do you guys have a specific meet spot and time for south west meet, i wanted to update one thread with all the details.
  13. sure, no problems Last time there was huge mix up during fuel stop, basically the ride split off during stop. But last year every thing was last minute due to weather delaying start and what not. But eventually every one had a good time and no one got lost hopefully this year will be better and outstanding Hope none of the leads and sweeps are confused about the route and plan.
  14. i wish your bike could be fixed jack, u been a lot of help. You bought about lot of change in the last moment but it was for the good i am 100% sure about that. Better some scrapes like this than some one really really messing up are u guys meeting in KFC and heading down. We will meet you at the meet spot, that will be the best idea rather than trying to hook up with us at 668 causing more confusion since timing is hard.
  15. i see three gas stations, if two group each take up one of these things could be moved along pretty quick. I guess like the first two groups stop at station A , thrird and fourth and B and 5 and 6 group go to C. After a designated stop time of about 15 mins the 1 and 2 (fast guys) start from A and pass by B and C and hence we get to know that people are moving along and keep up the imaginary convoy of groups. I just read it and it sounds so confusing i dont know how to explain this in few words
  16. checking these right now, will get back on this asap, biggest concern was the confusion during fuel break from smaller places. If we can solve that, pretty much we are set.
  17. quoting it for a new page the reroute affects ONLY the leads and sweeps, for the rest THE TIME, START SPOT and STOP SPOT al remain the same Leads: Fast Uncle punk Fast-medium- Jschaf Fast-Medium- Gasser Medium: Hailwood Medium- Mykill Slow- BMWnut Slow- Alzheimer Sweep: Fast: Inyaz Fast-medium: fiji-9-brother - fast-medium- Bad324 - Medium- Nightrider Medium: Pokey- slow- DAC / sub- OSUmj slow- Pyromancy these are the final list as of now, hoping to get some subs lined up soon
  18. u guys shud ride sweep one group then
  19. this was the post i was refering to from last year http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=92701 the ever dependable DRC delivered again when he is far away enjoying them west coast routes and again really really sorry for the last last minute confusion, but i guess this is something which will be worth it to avoid lot of unessasary guilt, pain and agony in future.
  20. i say we go with the new route that being this one http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Logan,+OH+43138&daddr=OH-93+S+to:OH-56+E+to:39.4485168,-82.2010518+to:Burr+Oak+Blvd+to:7th+St+to:OH-669+W+to:S+Columbus+St+to:E+Hunter+St&hl=en&ll=39.65302,-81.858015&spn=0.02531,0.038495&sll=39.557729,-82.37566&sspn=0.050689,0.07699&geocode=FWNVWwIdRZEW-ynF9NkuV-5HiDHEJP6RoMMUMg%3BFaDfWAIdwrwV-w%3BFUg_WAId2B0Z-w%3BFcTvWQIdJbYZ-ylbwiZGbApIiDEMWITOdcZJlA%3BFcAhWgId-bkZ-w%3BFeEJXQIdcNke-w%3BFZ9UXgIdyxMe-w%3BFTJlXwIdhTkY-w%3BFetYWwIdspcW-w&gl=us&mra=mi&mrsp=8&sz=14&via=3&t=m&z=15 The rationale behind it is simple, except for some confusion now, it will be worth so much more not to have the guilt that we were indirectly responsible for some one crashing. What i am trying to say is, - the new route is as fun or even more....trust me on this (78 and 669 was clean and very twisty last year... the ride report of 691 was also excellent if i remember as posted by DRC) - Much much less chance of mishaps. - The only downfall of confusion of last minute change can be alleviated by good communication right here and on the day of the ride. -Will be bringing printed routes and other misc stuff like fuel breaks locations etc -there will be confusion during fuel break which was the most concerning, working on it to find a simple solution. I am guessing everyone if not the majority will be acceptable to this, seen jack ride, and he is very carefull, if he went down that is a matter of concern when so many riders with different skill set participate. Hopefully txts, pms will be spread out among different friend circle to let others know.
  21. true like hail and jerry said, if people are true to themself and keep to the slow and medium group this will be perfectly be okay. And those who rode 555 route fast before stick to faster groups.
  22. better this than 200 feet tall monsters mars attacks , looks similar
  23. i guess we are stuck in a tuff situation here, its like punk said picking the lesser evil. Need more opinion from you guys to see which way to go, either ways i guess we have to decide by tonight Original 555 Route Pros - easy to remember -already set plan - Gas station at ideal location -555 always a hallmark and pride of ohio riding Cons -road conditions and prone to mishaps NEW Route example below, keeping the time, start and stop the same, even distance almost similar. so only the lead and sweep basically have to be up to date with the change in route. eg http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Logan,+OH+43138&daddr=OH-93+S+to:OH-56+E+to:39.4485168,-82.2010518+to:Burr+Oak+Blvd+to:7th+St+to:OH-669+W+to:S+Columbus+St+to:E+Hunter+St&hl=en&ll=39.65302,-81.858015&spn=0.02531,0.038495&sll=39.557729,-82.37566&sspn=0.050689,0.07699&geocode=FWNVWwIdRZEW-ynF9NkuV-5HiDHEJP6RoMMUMg%3BFaDfWAIdwrwV-w%3BFUg_WAId2B0Z-w%3BFcTvWQIdJbYZ-ylbwiZGbApIiDEMWITOdcZJlA%3BFcAhWgId-bkZ-w%3BFeEJXQIdcNke-w%3BFZ9UXgIdyxMe-w%3BFTJlXwIdhTkY-w%3BFetYWwIdspcW-w&gl=us&mra=mi&mrsp=8&sz=14&via=3&t=m&z=15 pros -clean recently paved roads - almost same length and fun twisty sections Cons -last minute plan change -Gas stop in mcconnelsville might cause confusion Personally i am okay with anything the majority wants, but my guess is majority would be in favor of minimizing the risk as much as possible. And hence i am leaning more towards a cleaner and newer roads as change in route can be easily learned or put into a gps. The two choice are new route or every one making sure they ride their own comfortable slower paced ride. Hope more people would chime in soon,
  24. Looks to be a beautiful day, I won't mind riding the whole day Gasser is a go as of now, willing to lead a group for the big ride and will join us in coshocton ,
