I will prolly be the first one on to arrive (for once ) will try to set the parking as per "speed preference picture" as every one arrives. Derek won't be able to lead a group, sorry I will peel off half way thru the ride or else I won't make it back on time.

moving it to sunday roamr man, u can make it. Seems like the fast group gonna have lot of fun.
-
awesome decision, sunday is much much much better. And i dont have to die trying to get there by tonight.
-
hahaha ur very clever, i wish i had the balls to pull this off. As of now inclining towards early morning start. Too tired for the night and no hotels available unless willing to pay ridiculous price
-
I get off at around 7 and then will have to slab, gettingweak knees now. They say its a bad idea to ride at night, they say its worse to ride in cold, they say its crazy to ride during rain. And i have to be crazy & stupid to have the ridiculous idea of slabbing 5 hours on free way in the night with cold and rain to make it Till last minute i was keeping hope. If tomorrow looks better may be leave home around 5 and i can still make it. Sunday looks so much better Darn it. Wish there was no rain on top of this cold. Cant even get help from heated gear if its raining

The radar shows just a hand full of crappy clouds right above the area of interest. I wish it blows away soon

any one else keeps checking 3 different weather website every 4 to 6 hrs to see change in weather pattern? or is it just me I am hopeful and may be biased, seems like the cold and warm current blowing here and there blah blah blah, but i strongly believe its going to get cleared by thursday, we might get a high 60 on saturday

Nice and concise report, Sorry to hear about your back, ur luck (worst rainy day of the week), and about 78. One of the best roads in this loop. Hope you recover fast and can make it for the ride.
-
I guess we can wait till Thursday to be sure what we are gonna get that weekend for sure. Now that Tonik said it I am more hopeful. He never says random stuff Jerry will be glad to hear that, he really needs good luck on his side. Me and jerry must be the two man group ride to cover most storm drenched motorcycle miles

derek, do we have enough confirmed leads ? I would even say thats the most important factor here. Without enough leads knowing the route well prior to the ride we had to go with brave souls volunteering in the last minute to lead and loosing way etc. Plus it delays start as we have to find a lead etc. Lot of people were willing to sweep, but knowing the route is the key. Not that its a bad situation, but does help when every thing goes smooth. Will need more than 12 -15 confirmed leads so that when the day comes at least 8-10 are present to lead 10 each. And the slow and medium groups have 80% riders and only 20% opting to go faster ones. so just 3-4 leads for fast/ med fast and around 10 for med or slow. I would have volunteered but i am still not sure if i can make it 100% or whtr i will be 2 up or not

McConnelsville, OH is a good spot, we stopped here for the ride big ride of 2012. Actually two or three gas stops close by and some empty lots to reassemble and take of etc. Actually one party stopped to take a bite in the restaurent too the early stop was because of two reasons, some riders said the 100 mile range was just about the mileage they could get on a single gas tank, and second and most important was to allow people to jump group ( importantly step down a group) if they thought the pace was not their liking before we hit serious twisties.

very true, plus basic black/white design like the one u just did always comes out good and look clean and professional and can go with any color shirt

Hahaha snot don't jinx it Jack u always work too hard, and last time u coming out to meet us all despite not having the bike with you was just awesome. I tell u again don't work too hard, from the last three years what I learned was no matter how much we plan in this digital world, and no matter how much pm's we send and tweak, it, in the end it boils down to the real life moment and if some one can organize it right there. Coz as you see only less than 20% of the people who show up are seeing all these messages, the rest 80% will need orientation on the spot.
-
My off for that weekend approved now to get bike ready and pray that I don't get called in the last moment. Hopefully I can make it. Regarding organizing we always went with less is more and take the 'less rigid rules' approach. The first two years went well as it was manageable number of people and more importantly someone took charge eg Pauly, or UP the first two years. But last year, it was bad as the number was high ( which is an awesome experience ) and we missed a central figure. Brian knew I always hide in real life and tried to help in the last moment with cdub’s help. But we lost some time and sort of hap hazard groups were formed. But still it was fun and could have been so much better with less head ache. So my 0.02$ if at all helps, 1. Leads, leads, leads : in an ideal group ride we also need lead - sweep coordinated but for this once, to minimize confusion get as many lead volunteers as possible. These guys need to know the route really well, thats why getting them ahead would help. ( last three years, we didnt have enough leads going in and people just volunteered last minute) Most exp riders are willing to sweep on the spot so this was never a problem. 2. Need central figure who is good with talking to every one and addressing big group (no stage fright ) Imagine there will be around 100+ people there with riders, pillions just passer by etc. So if your good at it and this can be of good help to organize. Here again why i say just one guy because too many cooks spoil it. even if its a bad plan, one bad plan is better than 5 good plans. This one guy just needs to ask the respective leads for speed class to step up, ask for a sweep, ask for who wants to go with them and that group leaves. One group leaves while other group is being called up. This will also give enough time gap between groups. I would say, these will be the only two things we need for sure and rest will be easy. At least around 14 to 15 Leads for sure (not even maybes) Why 14 to 15 because we might have to split that many people who will show up. Lastly, plz every one assemble for a big group picture I know in my lifetime i am not going to get another chance to be in a same frame with 100 other riders. And keep that pic for old times sake years to come. And i am pretty sure if not all most would feel the same.

here is the video from last years ride, as u can see i had finished this months before. This was a sort of experimental one, Wanted to do a better one with different music and thats why didnt release this. As always wanted to put names on the faces so its easier for people, But alas just could not find time to finish it. So here is something which is better than nothing. sorry for the delay to come up with nothing From around the 80ish people that showed up (including those who didnt ride) i almost caught most people. some i missed for sure. sorry to those guys. Edit: *video not available on phone* lemme fix it and post again -
Rider dies after hitting pothole while traveling over 100 mph in Minnesota

Just a quick google search showed he loved motorcycling, seems like he was experienced rider, consistent track time, going to be expert this year. Full of passion for motorcycling, all post/pics on his facebook related to bikes. RIP As we all fear this could have been any one of us, ride safe every one
